Since it was when the Swedes were doing well and I am going to put a choice of 9 plus others so they can vote for their all time favourite Swedish player.

I came into tennis around 2000, so I have only heard of how great the top three guys were. My favourite is Jonas Bjorkman (followed by Simon Aspelin), though I think Magnus Norman will soon be leading the poll.........

Definitely Magnus Norman!!!!
But followed by Thomas Enqvist, Magnus Gustafsson (why is he not on this poll. I think he is one of the nicest Swedes ever), Jonas Björkman, Simon Aspelin and Peter Nyborg:-))

The one and only Pim Pim Johansson. Why?
Reasons:
1) He is such a gentleman
2) He smells like soap even after playing for three hours
3) He is one of Marat Safin's buds
4) If you call his name when he is leaving the court he WILL walk back and sign autographs for you
5) He makes eye contact with fans
6) If you ask him for his towel after a match he WILL give it to you even if is is stuck in between his shoulder and the strap of his bag
7) Jonas Bjorkman calls him Pim Pim
8) He has the funniest slice backhand grunt
9) When he says 'come on' during a match it sounds like he is sneezing (or maybe it was something in Swedish that I just couldn't understand)
10) He is sooooo down-to-earth

The thing about asking Pim Pim for autographs is that you kind of have to be loud and make sure that he knows that you are calling his name because he seems really shy.
I had the opportunity to watch him practice with Marat Safin and after practice he didn't sign many autographs because he must have thought that the kids were only there for Safin. Pim Pim is really humble :)

he knew we were asking for his autographs, he even took the time to say no to us... and what made me really mad was that he gave autographs on the court, but i left the court to wait for him to come out... and he said no to us. he even won that match. i'm not trying to knock him, cause i still love him. i just wish he would have signed my $14 big (but not the biggest) tennis ball that i had just bought because i only had (and still only have) 2 autographs on it. he was pretty nice after practicing, but only signed one autograph.

so yeah, i still love him even though he may be shy.

When I started watching tennis there were so many great Swedish players around (Edberg, Wilander, Jarryd, Nyström...) and later on Gustafsson (who isn't included in the list to choose from), Björkman and Norman, who I all really liked. It's a pity that Magnus Norman had to retire so early.

My vote went to Stefan Edberg :worship: He was really a great champion on and off the court :)

Thomas Enqvist

I like others too but he is special to me.

Borg: my dad's fav so he belongs to my childhood
Wilander: my mom's fav (she didn't like Borg cuz he won all the time so it was so boring according to her lol) so he belongs to my childhood (I was happy to have talked to him (just few words) during DC in Strasbourg)
Edberg: my tennis teacher's fav when I was a kid. That's why I use serve & volley when I play. IMO: beautiful volley... So he belongs to my childhood & teenage

I like them and: Nyström, Järryd, Gustafsson, Larsson, Norman, Björkman, Aspelin...
