Revenge is sweet. Karma's a bitch.

Very, very nice win for Flavio after that US Open match-up. I am really shocked at the scoreline. Some games in the first set were hotly contested, but the second set was a breeze. Flavio is off to a great start in 2009 :worship: A win over the world #16 :D

In the late 2000s Wawrinka brought back the tennis of 1920s and this wasn't smart.

Actually Cipolla played quite well but that Wawrink made him look like a Nadal.

Today's Wawrinka = all the Nos. No speed, no power, no serve, no volleys, no shot selection, no tactics + no confidence in the game at all.

It was just beyond... horrible.

Props to Cipolla though.

Yeah, there was a handshake!

Falvio's slice backhand was incredible today!
He played incredible passing shots, dropshots and volleys also!

Even though it wasn't classy by Flavio to refuse the handshake it wasn't that a big deal  :)

I have reasons to believe it was :)

And you know I have a different opinion about what was not classy about the match ;)

Anyways, I am just very happy for this win, regardless of what happened. It's a very convincing scoreline. Flavio had a horrible ending to 2008, so this start is really positive. Three very good scorelines in qualifying and now this impressive win.

Losing to a WTA player is utter embarrassment :tape:

losing to this mug twice in a row on hardcourt is beyond pathetic, Cipolla has no serve, no bekhand, he is just slicing all the time and moonballing on the forhand side, he is a clever player but no serious player should lose more the a couple of games agaonst him...

Just pathetic Stan....

Seems like Stan really was not playing all that well and Flavio took advantage of that in a very clever way. Some awesome passing shots and the usual great display of tactics and footwork by Cipo. Some very bad errors from Wawrinka though (and the smash from Micio :o).

Cipolla was the cheater who asked for the trainer after he won the 2nd set only to run like a rabbit for 3 hours more in that US Open match :o

When Nadull does that at just about every close match he plays, you don't exactly call him a cheater, do you?

Spadea TT
01-07-2009, 05:55 PM
I don't think a cheater would stop the game while leading 2-0 in sets. Cipolla was having real problems: in fact he couldn't win the match. Now that he was fit he managed to win ;)

That's some weird logic you have going on there. The person who is winning the match would actually want to stop his rhythm by taking an injury time-out?
