playing Djokovic in the first round of Brisbane

I guess 2009 will be no different from 2008 in at least one respect
Another rigged draw against GulbisCilic 01-03-2009, 05:34 AM playing Djokovic in the first round of Brisbane I guess 2009 will be no different from 2008 in at least one respect Action Jackson 01-03-2009, 05:40 AM Hello Dimonator. schorsch 01-03-2009, 05:51 AM it annoys me they have to play so early, too, but gulbis just must get his ranking up soon, because he hardly ever is a seed at tournas and he really has the game to be one... Cilic 01-03-2009, 06:08 AM that is exactly the problem but it will never be solved if he continues to play Nadal and Djokovic in the first and second rounds of every tournament Thanos 01-03-2009, 06:16 AM Hello Dimonator. didn't realise they were back. i saw just cause making their famous thread about couple of days ago. scoobs 01-03-2009, 06:32 AM Well naturally the organisers want to risk losing their top seed first match by giving him perhaps the trickiest floater in the draw :retard: Good fix :yeah: jitterbug 01-03-2009, 06:41 AM :spit: oranges 01-03-2009, 07:32 AM Well naturally the organisers want to risk losing their top seed first match by giving him perhaps the trickiest floater in the draw :retard: Good fix :yeah: It's a more intricate conspiracy going above the organizers  jitterbug 01-03-2009, 07:49 AM It's a more intricate conspiracy going above the organizers  The Russian mobsters are behind this, I think  :p Nathaliia 01-03-2009, 08:03 AM Del Potro didn't get easy draws, especially in Slams but last year he managed to break the streak of the bad luck by his own good game, same will be with Gulbis, if not this week, then another. azza 01-03-2009, 08:13 AM Nothing feels right when im wit chu. Kolya 01-03-2009, 08:19 AM :haha: Gulbis :p jitterbug 01-03-2009, 08:20 AM Who cares, honestly? He's got to learn how to beat players of Djokovic's calibre sooner or later if he doesn't want to be stuck as wasted potential, so why not start now? scoobs 01-03-2009, 08:24 AM Who cares, honestly? He's got to learn how to beat players of Djokovic's calibre sooner or later if he doesn't want to be stuck as wasted potential, so why not start now? My learned friend is quite correct. W!MBLEDON 01-03-2009, 08:37 AM bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww valkyra 01-03-2009, 09:03 AM well, life is brute. you can get great experience by playing weaker players. anyway i'll be up all night watching their game :) Horatio Caine 01-03-2009, 09:33 AM You'd be saying the draw was rigged if he drew Acasuso and was handed an immediate 5-1 lead. :o Horatio Caine 01-03-2009, 09:40 AM But, seriously, he had numerous stupid defeats last season...if he'd done a little more in even some of the smaller events, he'd probably be ranked at least top 40 by now. Time for him to actually step up to the plate and live up to his hype...and this is an early opportunity to do something, given that Djokovic will also be starting cold. DartMarcus 01-03-2009, 09:41 AM The only thing I can say is: Yesssssssssss  Jimnik 01-03-2009, 10:23 AM Ernie has more things to worry about than rigged draws. Venle 01-03-2009, 10:31 AM Should be a good one HattonWBA 01-03-2009, 10:50 AM Who cares, If he is not ranked high enuff to be seeded then thats the risk, hes overrated anyway and Djokovic will smash him oranges 01-03-2009, 10:56 AM Who cares, If he is not ranked high enuff to be seeded then thats the risk, hes overrated anyway and Djokovic will smash him Because he easily won the two previous matches, with no obvious chances for the matches to go the other way, because you just know it or you just don't like him and that's that? :p finishingmove 01-03-2009, 11:03 AM http://www.brisbaneinternational.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/mds1.pdf very interesting top half of the draw, looking forward to watching that jrm 01-03-2009, 11:07 AM Useless thread Cilic 01-03-2009, 01:50 PM You'd be saying the draw was rigged if he drew Acasuso and was handed an immediate 5-1 lead. :o post of 2009 so far :worship: reggie1 01-03-2009, 02:01 PM I do think there's something to be said for playing weaker opponents and building confidence, tough draw for Ernie! Spes 01-03-2009, 03:11 PM :retard: Great thread. Snowwy 01-03-2009, 03:33 PM I find that the draw is usually rigged against Qualifer. The ATP always expects Qualifer to play 4 matches in the first round of these tournaments. Think of how unfair that is for Qualifer. jitterbug 01-03-2009, 05:06 PM BYE gets the worst draws, the poor sod :awww: he must get so fed up, having to play the top seeds all the time. ~*BGT*~ 01-03-2009, 06:52 PM He's gonna beat Djokovic :) tangerine_dream 01-03-2009, 07:14 PM Excellent first round match between the two friends, I'm looking forward to seeing it. reggie1 01-03-2009, 07:21 PM BYE gets the worst draws, the poor sod :awww: he must get so fed up, having to play the top seeds all the time. Aren't we all mean, nobody has even thought to set up a sympathy thread for BYE, he never gets the respect he deserves! Kitty de Sade 01-03-2009, 08:19 PM that is exactly the problem but it will never be solved if he continues to play Nadal and Djokovic in the first and second rounds of every tournament He has to take control of his own destiny though, whether you think the fix is in or not. He has the talent to do it, but he has to deliver. When he does, which he will, he will no longer have to worry about such a tough match up at the start of a tournament. For the part about rigging a draw against him, I hope you were joking. What director with an ounce of sense would EVER kill off a guaranteed sell like Gulbis? The idea is to sell tickets. You want Gulbis around as long as possible. Albop 01-03-2009, 08:20 PM How it's your blog going Dimonator? You'd be saying the draw was rigged if he drew Acasuso and was handed an immediate 5-1 lead. :o :worship: ReturnWinner 01-03-2009, 08:35 PM It's just bad luck but you can always learn off playing the very best players. GlennMirnyi 01-03-2009, 10:30 PM Gulbis can't beat top players. No biggie for Faker. Cilic 01-04-2009, 01:25 AM Gulbis can't beat top players. No biggie for Faker. correct Gulbis' mental capacity was on full display several times last season against Nadal and Djoker. No need to see it happen again in Brisbane. Something like 6-3, 6-2 is a foregone conclusion. jitterbug 01-04-2009, 01:50 AM Sounds like Dimonator all right, claiming to be a fan but always keen to drag up unsubstantiated gossip which paints his 'favourites' in the worst possible light  | |
