I think it is not a good idea that he uses an ITF CH to preparing for AO.

It has a pretty strong list, he will face good players. And he can arrive 1 week earlier at Melbourne to get used to time zone and weather :yeah:

I think it is a poor field because of the top 6 seeds.

Well, you won't find much better challengers during the season. Daniel, Capdeville, Alves, Mayer, Roitman, Becker, Cuevas, Russell, Giraldo, Hocevar are pretty dangerous and can give him a hard time. Of course you can't compare it to an International Series tournament, but it's not a poor field.

Yes,yes,I know.

1. Daniel, Marcos BRA 87
2. Dabul, Brian ARG 103
3. Capdeville, Paul CHI 111
4. Alves, Thiago BRA 113
5. Mayer, Leonardo ARG 115
6. Roitman, Sergio ARG 118
All of the top 6 seeds are good ITF players but not good ATP players.

Of course Sao Pablo has a great list just because:
7. Becker, Benjamin GER 129 2007 Bangkok Finalist,2006 US Open R16
8. Chela, Juan Ignacio ARG 141 former US Open QF
16. @# Zabaleta, Mariano ARG 175 former US Open QF
21. Mello, Ricardo BRA 198 former Delray Beach Champion
(WC) Flavio Saretta BRA former Wimbledon QF
I means only those above are good players on fast court in ATP tours, but all of them are not ranked top 6 seeds.

What? Why did he withdraw from Melbourne? Is he injured? But good news he received a WC for Bs As, he definitely deserves it:)

I don't know if he's injured (I hope he's not) but maybe it wasn't a good idea to go to Australia just to play one tournament.
More good news, he got a WC to play in Acapulco
