good news seeing him starting the season so early...he usually begins playing in March:scratch:

probably last season's performance boosted his morale and as far as I know his objective this year is reaching TOP 100...

the problem at this tournament could be the surface (Vic plays 90% of his tournaments on clay, although he had recently good results on hard too - SF in Dneprpetrovsk and Final in Romanian Masters - in both games defeated by Victor Hănescu :))

I think that Mayer will beat Crivoi. I read somewhere he's optimistic and ready for the new season, winning the German champs surely also helped him. Time to shovel the snow with that sexy dropshot.

Tough draw for Koubek, he might lose, but we'll see. It's not a player taken from nowhere. So many question marks before every season.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I'd like to report the Noumea Challenger qualification draw is still not available, despite the draw was announced on the proper hour of their local time, which was certainly not a minute ago. I wholeheartedly hope the tournament's supervisor had amazing time during the New Year Eve, it's just the right moment to step down to the duties.

now seriously, yes, not that surprising Brunken winning the match, also we can always expect a lot of surprises when the season starts and ends (like you said in your website's Nouméa preview ;) )

lol, the tournament doesn't have its own page, only the French Federation is kind enough to give the draws, but since ATP are being bastards, I sent them a following message.

Nowhere until someone can be bothered to post them. At the moment:

- there are no results for today on the ATP site - http://www.atpworldtour.com/en/common/TrackIt.asp?file=/1/posting/2009/2205/mds.pdf
- the draw on the Nouvelle Calédonie site at http://www.ligue.fft.fr/nouvelle-caledonie/24L01000_d/data_1/pdf/md/mds.pdf doesn't even have qualifiers placed, though it does have Sunday's doubles results on there and Tuesday's OoP
- the FFT site doesn't even seem to know that the draw has taken place - http://www.ti.fft.fr/EvMenu.asp?CodeEvent=0811181840

Yes, I'm sure you're right there. They tend to update the results on the FFT site a few times a day even for Futures. That's why I was quite hopeful about this tournament. I guess the 10 hour time difference doesn't aid coordination.

According to a friend of Montcourt, he beat Recouderc and then Koubek.
But I don't have the official confirmation yet. And I don't have the other results either.

 That was my reaction too, but it's a SMS from Mathieu himself, it seems it's true! He says the match against Recouderc was tough, all the more since they're good friends, but then he played a really great match against Koubek and is in the semi.

Poor Boggo.

Just like I said to Linda, he'd lose in 3 if lucky and 2 if unlucky, and in QF he will lack stamina.

Probably I'd win back my money I would have lost on Stefan :nerner:

boggo has a funny record in QF's he does seem to get knocked out a lot at that stage, but when he makes the semis he normally makes the final then when he makes the final he normally wins.

was a good effort in the 1st 2 sets, maybe he just had nothing left in the tank? i know he doesn't particularly enjoy the playing conditions down under so i guess its been a good week, and a decent preparation for the AOQ.

Pretty good effort from Bogdanovic, if you ask me. Did not expect him to make it so difficult for Mayer. He'll enter the AO qualies with some newfound confidence, I reckon.
