It's only a challenger but it's a great win over in form top 100 player, biggest in his career so far.Kendrick won two and played one challenger final recently.

Krajinovic his practicing at Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy and he recently said that he reminds him of young Agassi.
"One of the brighter prospects in Serbia's upcoming generation is another kid who left home to develop, again with us at the academy, and that's a 16-year-old boy called Filip Krajinovic, who I advise you to keep an eye on. He's going to be a hell of a player: impeccable groundstrokes, hits the ball hard and early, with little spin. He's got a two-handed backhand, moves well. He reminds me in a lot of ways of Andre Agassi, except Andre was not so comfortable at the net."

It's an end of the year and I hope MTF won't be too hard on me for pointing at one bright prospect :wavey: .

I checked the ATP site and it says he played only a few futures and one challenger so far. Nice win so early in the career :yeah: I hope they'll nourish that feel at the net at NBTA for a change ;)

i agree... bolletieri academy methods work... but the results are not easy on the eye at all... grind a sure fire way to the top, without any real interest in nuturing the creativity needed to be truly great... though, coaching methods right the way round the world copied this style to a certain extent... one dimensional slugfest lovers only... and, look what it did to the wta... but who cares, cos it affected the men's game much less... i hear they have installed clay courts and revised the way they bring on players with respect to the game...

all that said, good win here by this kid... kendrick is a pretty sound gateway to the top 100 in all fairness...

Robert Kendrick was one-and-done Tuesday afternoon as defending champion of the $50,000 Knoxville Challenger tennis tournament.

Kendrick, seeded third and ranked No. 84 in the world, lost to 16-year-old Filip Krajinovic 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 of Serbia in the first round at the University of Tennessee's Goodfriend Tennis Center.

Krajinovic, who lives and trains at the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Fla., won three qualifying matches over the weekend to reach the main draw.

"I've never played him before and quite frankly wasn't even going to play (the Knoxville Challenger)," Kendrick said.

Kendrick said he decided to play Monday and made the trip from Champaign, Ill., where he played last week's Challenger event and lost in the second round to Taylor Dent.

Asked why he almost withdrew from Knoxville, Kendrick said, "Body's beat up, a long year."

Krajinovic, ranked No. 901, will make a big jump after his biggest pro victory.

"He's top 100 in the world," Krajinovic said. "It's something I'm very proud of. I hope I'm going to keep winning."

Krajinovic had a small-but-vocal group cheering for him during the match against Kendrick.

"They are some students from Serbia in school here (at UT), so they come to watch," Krajinovic said. "I want to say thanks to them."

He has played qualies of quite a few Challengers though. His results have been up and down, which is logical for his age.

Nonetheless, this is a really amazing win. Kendrick is very dangerous in these US Challengers on hardcourts, as it is his best surface. Moreover, he was on a very good run.

Krajinovic will definitely be one to watch for the next few years. I guess his goal will be to get direct entry to most Challengers in the next year.

he seems to be quite a cutie
maybe going for Feliciana 2.0 look when he gets older

i've noticed him at USO were he lost in the semis i think, still Bollettieri has been quite vocal about him for some time now, and this win shows there's a reason for that. Hopefully in two year or so he, along with Grigor Dimitrov, will beat the shit out of Crybaby faker, Mandy, Piggy, Clownga and Nijinsky

He's in semis now.First he won 2nd round against qualifier Brian Battistone 6-2 2-6 6-3 and then in qf he was set down again but overcame Kuznetsov 4-6 6-4 6-4.
Bobby Reynolds awaits in semis now...

It seems there's a school of faking in Serbia for tennis players. All players from there are fakers. Can't be a coincidence.

It's probably the first time you hear about the kid. He retires in the semi-final, then of course he's a faker.

Stepanek retired twice this season, so I suppose he's a faker either

Why do you pretend to be dumb? These things you write here are ridiculous and you keep repeating it thinking that it's funny. It's not  Why don't you do some good discussions about tennis, I'm sure you must have good things to write.

I think Nadal's entire career has cracked Glenn's mind. He's been banned before and since Nadal's win at Wimbledon he's gone completely bonkers.

Of course I have, but it's not like the morons at MTF deserve that I waste energy posting something with more than 2 lines anyway.

I could write a big essay about why this guy must be a faker and why I hate fakers, but I prefer to just call him a faker. I think it's okay for MTF's intelligence level. :)
