Follow the draw live!

You can follow the draw for the BNP Paribas Masters 2008 live here on this website on Friday 24 October from 6.30 pm (CET). Watch as the players' names appear in real time on the brackets as the suspense unfolds…

The draw is one of the key moments of the tournament as it will obviously decide who plays whom at which stage of the competition. It will no doubt throw up some mouth-watering first round ties and of course you will also be able to the potential match-ups that the 16 seeds will have from the second round onwards.

Make sure you follow all the action, as it happens, on from 6.30 pm CET on Friday 24 October.

Nikolay Davydenko has pulled out of St. Petersburg with a wrist injury and says he is unlikely to play Paris. "Even if the inflammation and pain pass, I will have no time for preparation," he said.

come on, 3 more for Simo

10-24-2008, 10:14 AM
Chardy, Ouanna and Mannarino get a WC.

10-24-2008, 10:41 AM
Clearly, the choice of the youth but a little bit tough for Santoro imo. But I'm happy for these guys who now must show they deserved it.

10-24-2008, 10:58 AM
Yes, I'm surprised Santoro didn't get one.
Benneteau said yesterday in Lyon after his match he deserves one too in his opinion, so he will be disappointed.
I was expecting one for either Ouanna or Mannarino, but not both of them.

10-24-2008, 11:48 AM
OUT: Gonzalez

why is fena out??

10-24-2008, 11:54 AM
no WC for Fabrice :speakles:

Santoro probably will play his final match in career next year in Paris.

10-24-2008, 12:56 PM
I'm happy for Jérémy, Josselin and Adrian, but Fabrice deserved a WC

will Fabrice play qualies here?

10-24-2008, 01:04 PM
It regularly happens Santoro doesn't get WC in France and MTF is outraged, in Monte-Carlo already (I know MC isn't in France, but French players often get WC there too), in Marseille...
It's tough since it probably was going to be his last Bercy, but it's not a scoop he isn't in good terms with everybody in French tennis.

I'd be surprised to see him play the qualies, it's not his style when he's refused a WC like that. The article about the Frenchies in qualifying on the website only mentions Clément, Benneteau, Devilder, Serra and Mahut so far.

10-24-2008, 01:07 PM
I just heard that Fernando Gonzalez will not play Paris-Bercy. Could any chilean confirm this?

Don't you think he will get WC next year?

10-24-2008, 02:21 PM
I'm surprised Benneteau and Mahut didn't get WCs but good to see Ouanna get one.

Assuming Gonzalez and Davydenko are out, JCF needs another four withdrawals before the end of the day. Looks like his year is over although technically he's ranked low enough to play Challengers in November. :( :o

12.52 pm: Richard Gasquet has pulled out of the tournament. “I woke up this morning with my elbow in pain… I don’t think my season has been a complete write-off but I’m obviously disappointed,” said Ritchie, who will lose a raft of ranking points after making the semis here last year. From Masters Cup to outside the top 20 in 12 months – poor Ritchie.

from the official website

I hope he can adjust to the slower conditions and at least make a semifinal or do even better!!:D

10-27-2008, 08:57 PM
Yay! :woohoo: Good luck Roger!

Thanks for the info martinatreue

Don't you think he will get WC next year?I just listened to the video interview of Caujolle on (there has been a huge fuss around the WC given to the youngsters, with an open letter of Santoro in L'Equipe, etc., it's a real drama ^^) and Caujolle points out Santoro could have entered the qualifying too if he wanted that much to play Bercy.
I guess they found that a bit irritating too, like he was forcing them to give him a WC - or he was not even considering he might not get it.

Benneteau's case was different since he couldn't play the qualies.

10-28-2008, 11:32 AM
Truc do you why LLodra is out in singles but still plans to play doubles?

10-28-2008, 07:52 PM
He pulled out because of his knee, he just doesn't need to run a lot in doubles, I guess.
