To stop cluttering up the chat thread with my livescoring posts.

It's been a break fest so far, he just broke again to love, *4-1, it would be nice to hold for a change, Poussin (or to hold without saving any BP).

Truc
09-12-2008, 10:33 AM
Broken. :fiery:
That's not funny anymore, he wasn't broken once against Montanes and today he can't hold to save his life.

Truc
09-12-2008, 10:37 AM
He breaks again. :o
Break Points Saved: 0/4 for Serra. :tape: I imagine the comments in the Gamblers thread - WTA match, mugs...

Truc
09-12-2008, 10:42 AM
He holds. Without facing any BP. 6-2 in 30 minutes. :worship:

Truc
09-12-2008, 10:43 AM
Serra's stats for this set:
1st serve points won: 1/6 (17%), 2nd serve points won: 0/11 (0%)

He has won one point on his serve during the whole set? :rolls:

:awww: Poor sleepy Flo!
Gilles :rocker2:

Truc
09-12-2008, 11:01 AM
Hou, somebody is posting in my private thread.
Poor Sandra who is there cheering for Flo, it must have been a shocking 1st set. :tape:

Gilles one break up, *3-2.

Truc

BP Flo, Poussin is annoying me big time today...

Broken. :silly: What an idiot.

Break back now Gilles! :fiery: Or else!

Truc
09-12-2008, 11:16 AM
Thank you Flo for that DF since Gillou was obviously not able to take his stupid BP otherwise.

*4-3, ALLEZ!

Truc
09-12-2008, 11:20 AM
He holds!!!!
5-3*, I suggest a break now.

Truc
09-12-2008, 11:23 AM
Another great service game of Flo to finish the match.

OK, nice scoreline since he always had tight matches against Flo in the past, but it's not normal to struggle that much on his serve.
He needs to hold tomorrow, especially if he plays Navarro who is apparently serving well.

jitterbug
09-12-2008, 12:00 PM
I missed the match :silly:

46% vs 44% first serve percentages :tape:

Truc
09-13-2008, 11:53 AM
Yes, I'm really a bit worried for that match because of his poor serving yesterday.

I think you are supposed to wear the black shorts with the yellow/black shirt, Gilles. Not the white ones. ^^

1st S&V, but BP Chucho already...

Broken. :o

Truc
09-13-2008, 12:00 PM
:help: 2-0, so many ridiculous UE from the baseline.

He has a weird face today, he looks like he just woke up. Or is he just tense?

Puschkin
09-13-2008, 12:01 PM
May your man do better than the first Frenchie today! :o :wavey:

Truc
09-13-2008, 12:05 PM
He's doing even worse than Ritchie in the 1st set so far! It's been a while I haven't seen Poussin play so poorly.
DF to give Chucho a double break.

Puschkin
09-13-2008, 12:06 PM

I can hardly imagine that, I know what I have seen. :o

I hope so . I wanted an all Frenchie final.

:rocker2:Come on Gilles, make my day.

Truc
09-13-2008, 12:24 PM
Si si, he was worse, I saw Richard's match too!
He played two better games to come back from 3-0 to 3-2, but he's looking so tight and grumpy - Tulasne always says he is too cool before his matches, he definitely isn't today!

He's doing really well at the net today, hasn't missed any volley so far (Chucho reached one of the dropshots and made the point, but it wasn't really Gillou's fault). But still so many UE from the baseline and poor returning, we need one more rebreak. :(

The music during the change-overs must be so annoying for the players. :silly:

Truc
09-13-2008, 12:28 PM
That was a nice little sample of French swearwords.

5-3*, try to hold without facing any BP to begin with, please...

Truc
09-13-2008, 12:37 PM
http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/verschiedene/d015.gif One SP saved.
He's still looking a bit weird/tense to me, the action at the net was ridiculous, for example, it took him so long to realize that Chucho had reached his volley, it's not normal.

We need a choke from Chucho, but it's not impossible.

*Raine
09-13-2008, 12:43 PM
:shout:Come on Gilles.

Truc
09-13-2008, 12:46 PM
It really was almost a choke from Chucho, he had his chances to break back!
But he didn't deserve to win the set with all these UE from the baseline.

At least that's an expressive Poussin today, whining, smiling, swearing...

Is your livestream still working? Mine is dead.

Truc
09-13-2008, 12:49 PM
It's back. Allez, he holds to love.

I hope he'll win the next two sets. :D

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:13 PM
My livestream is bitching, it was working perfectly during the first semi-final.
And the horrible commentator is back. :silly:

Rebreak Chucho after a missed volley, shit, he had so many chances to hold, what a waste!
He was finally looking better and had cut down the UE and the whining. :(

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:16 PM
Poussin :awww:

I just reached home, am dead tired. Please win this Gillou :rocker2:Are you coming back from the exam you were talking about last time (when you were watching some silly stuff on TV to shrug off the stress  )?

It's not looking good, we're back in swearing/whining/UE modus. :sobbing:

I had my exam in the morning, then I attended a career fair (had to man a booth for my scholarship agency) - then we had dinner and took some company officers sight-seeing around the university. I left the house at 9am and now it's 11.30pm here :help:

And what about that Deloitte job, Zahirah? Did you get it?

Chucho is playing well, and Gilles is whining way too much when the ball clips the net or the line, he often has this "I'm so unlucky today!" reaction, a bit like against Verdasco in Nottingham - and it did not end well in Nottingham!

Allez, Gilles, calm down and hold.

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:27 PM
He holds. :rocker2:
With a big yell.
I love when he's angry. :hearts:

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:31 PM
4 UE from Chucho in a row, thank you, *5-3!
But his shots really had clipped the line very often in the past few games, it was bound to happen.

:rocker2:Take the second set..

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:33 PM
Gillou stopped playing in the middle of a rallye because he meant a ball was out, that was risky, it looked very close on the livestream, he was lucky the chair umpire gave him the point!

DF, 30-30. :(

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:35 PM

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:40 PM
Chucho is really tough to play today, Gilles always is the first one to make an UE in the rallies. :-/

Gosh, 4 direct UE from the baseline in a row in that game...

6-4 5-5.

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:44 PM
I'm so sick of the commentator saying that Gilles is the defending champion. He can't pronounce his name without saying that, "defending champion Gilles Simon is struggling", "too many errors from defending champion Gilles Simon"... :silly:

Two bad UE again, but he holds, with a good volley, allez! :rocker2:

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:51 PM
I'm watching on Betfair, there is no full screen modus, but the window size is decent.

2-0 after a never-ending rallye (and Chucho was always winning the long rallies lately, so Gilles yelled another "ALLEZ!" at the end of the point!)

Truc
09-13-2008, 01:53 PM
That long rallye might have been a turning point, 4-0.

I just came back in time to see him waste 2 BP on the scoreboard...

Truc
09-13-2008, 02:14 PM
Ah, the livestream is back.

But whoever wins today will be exhausted tomorrow, so many long rallies, so much tension, Moya's match was a walk in the park in comparison. I know they're younger than Carlos, but still.

Gilles is running so much, he is looking seriously tired now, I hope he can hold for the rest of the set, but it's not sure at all!
He is running much more than Chucho and looks quite out of breath, even during the change over.

That was a solid hold from Chucho. Allez. :scared:

Truc
09-13-2008, 02:23 PM
He's looking exhausted, 2 really bad UE there, he's not moving well anymore.
30-40. :(

Huge winner from Chucho. :-/

Truc
09-13-2008, 02:33 PM
He wastes the 3rd BP with a netted return.
He looks like he's going to cry. :rolls:

Another UE, game Chucho, Gillou's gutted and throws his racquet towards his chair.

We need two more holds. :scared:

Truc
09-13-2008, 02:37 PM
We miss entire points all the time with all those stupid replays in slow motion.
Oh my God, he holds to love!

Truc
09-13-2008, 02:40 PM
The level of game is pretty pathetic now, tons of UE, but they're both so tired.
Chucho also is playing a lot of dropshots and Gilles never reaches them, it's not pretty to watch!

*5-4, I'm not sure I can watch the next game... Is anybody else watching the livestream?

Truc
09-13-2008, 02:42 PM
HUGE return of Chucho on the line, 30-15.

I'm exhausted.

Even I feel a bit sad for Chucho, I mean he played a good match. Gilles was clearly not playing his best tennis today, too error prone from the baseline, but Chucho was really tough too!

Truc
09-14-2008, 10:51 AM
He's playing really well atm.
The first 2 games were very shaky on the FH side, but now he's looking in control. I just wish he could take his BP!
Moya saves them with big serves, and Gilles was a bit unlucky on one BP too, a volley of Moya landed right on the line, it was very close.

Break, finally! But I'll wait for him to confirm the break to celebrate, as usual. :p

Truc
09-14-2008, 10:53 AM

To kill the time:
You can see his pretty face here:

He says he doesn't feel a lot of pressure, he just wants to play well because he'd like to play well when he plays in France and he'll try to enjoy all his matches (in the plural).

I don't think Marcos' injury is so bad, Raine, but even if it's "just a spasm", he might have to miss a few tournaments. The same thing happened to Gilles in Estoril (when he retired in the last game against Cipolla), it was only muscular too, but it ruined half of his clay season.

"Deuxième manche : Quatre jeux à un pour Simon, à la 55ème minute. A noter, une légère remarque de Mahut à un juge de ligne, car il n'est pas d'accord avec sa décision qui lui est défavorable, suite à une balle litigieuse."

Actually you have no idea how many players do that for real.. But I don't blame them, it's part of the strategical part of the game.

I know the AMS commentators were having a good laugh in Toronto because he had an entire match of wrong Challenges (and really horrible ones), they were counting and adding his other wrong Challenges from the match before and saying it was a new record.

So since Toronto was one of the very few times Poussin got to play on a court with Hawk-Eye, I'm pretty sure his %-record is awful.

Yes, Jérémy beat Andreev last week, but he really came back from nowhere and people say Andreev was hardly fighting in the 2nd part of the match (not only MTF posters say that, L'Equipe also suggested it was a shocking effort from him in his home event). I doubt Andreev will tank in a Masters Series. :-/

Gilles plays his best when he's match point down. ;) He does his best thinking then, too.

He saved 3 MP in a row at 4-5 0-40. All of a sudden he couldn't hit a 1st serve anymore to save his life. It was horrible.
I have no idea how he managed to save these 3 MP without a proper serve, but it was really, really, really close. It was particularly nervewracking because he also was annoyed by some problem with the chair umpire, so instead of focussing on the next MP he had to save, he was going to the chair umpire between the points and argueing - I was facepalming!
And then he saved another MP in that game when Andreev had ADV again. So 4 MP.

Andreev was leading again in the tiebreak, but had no MP this time. Still, it was CLOSE, Andreev was so dominating the rallies with his horrible FH.

Gilles didn't look particularly tense to me during the match, but at the end of the match, he didn't even smile or look a bit relieved.

I found him fast, he didn't look tired, even in the 3rd set - but that was really draining just by watching, so I hope he'll be OK tomorrow, I'm annoyed by their stupid scheduling.

I missed all that drama:awww: I would have been too nervous to watch the final set tie-break:lol: Congratulations to Gilles. He managed to hold his nerve, in awkward circumstances to save matchpoints. To get through somehow without playing his best level just shows how much he has progressed mentally this year. Its especially pleasing too, against such a strong opponent with if I can say this more obviously dangerous weapons in his game than Gilles.

The scheduling is:crazy::cuckoo: Hope he won't be tired tomorrow:)

Good job to save 2 BP in his first service game, but if he keeps playing like that, it is going to be painful!
I wish he would "tamper" more with his game when he plays Blake. Back to the old times when he was annoying his opponents like hell and driving Berdych nuts.

0-40...

Broken, 3-1... He had done a good job again to come back from 0-40, but made a stupid DF then.

He played an awesome BH winner and got loads of applause for it, but I don't care about him playing well today, I just want him to BEAT BLAKE!

He's improving and got a bit closer to a break this time, it's less painful than at the beginning, but he's still trailing...

Blake is quite tanking Gillou's service games, I so wish Gilles would punish him for that. :(

I only have SB, but the stats don't look good and the time doesn't either, less than 30 minutes for a set.....

Blake is his usual unbearable self. Aaaaaaargh.
Andreev was a joy to watch in comparison.

5 winners and 12 UE for Gilles (9/15 for Blake).

I only have SB, but the stats don't look good and the time doesn't either, less than 30 minutes for a set.....I said "improving" and "less plainful"! In comparison to the first games which were a complete nightmare he played a couple of very decent service games.

15-40 again, his BH looked good to me. :(
He starts whining already... :o

:haha: that sounded differently yesterday.Again, everything is relative! I can't stand watching Andreev, but I would watch 3 sets of Andreev rather than 1 set of Blake.
I don't like the two guys, but I don't dislike Andreev as a person, I just don't like his game. While I dislike both Blake's personality and his game!

He holds. :rocker2:
