@ Exponente

We should talk more if you are watching games from Knoxville and to share us your impression about form, etc...
There were some free odds today like Koubek, Cook and Dancevic and I also believe Kendrick and Anderson should be quite sure too...

I guess i am. I guess Robby is a little bit fatigued from playing singles and doubles in the last 5 or so tourneys. They have been great, but new competitors can be tricky. He has beaten the normal American foes in the last few challengers.
One other bit of info for all you Somdev lovers, his career looks like it has found its peak. Sure, he can win several matches, but his 1-dimensional HUMAN BACKBOARD game will get him nowhere against good players. He only made a good run because no one knew his game. Sorry Somdev, looks like you won't even be cracking the top 100.

Spadea-Somdev score??

TankingTheSet
11-19-2008, 03:30 AM
I think Devvarman will have every opportunity to make the top 100 given the fact that he has no points defend in the first half of 2009. However the relative devaluation of challengers in the ranking system will make it much more difficult for any upcoming player to make the top-100 going forward.

As for Todd Paul, his name did show up in some results this year and he did seem to be competitive at times. But when you see his losing record to complete clowns in the first round of futures tournaments in the last few months it makes you wonder whether he really has what it takes to get anywhere.

It's funny that the ATP drawsheet is updated actively during the day, but not updated anymore at night. It also happened yesterday. My best guess is that it is due to a negligent ATP supervisor that isn't present at night or that staff isn't present at night. In any case it would be the responsibility of the supervisor.

Yes, I agree with you, of 9 of 10 matches Kendrick should beat him. But we are talking about an 16 year old player now who won 3 matches in the quallies so this win shouldn´t be taking away his performance against Kendrick just because Kendrick was "tired" or lack of concentration or whatever. Important points for the youngster and it seems that he have a good chance against Battistone aswell.

Good Luck Fico!!!

Yes Robby! I knew he has finally gotten past the stage of losing to these 1st round clowns. Watch out for him next year, and of corse the rest of this year. He is on a roll! Only about 4 points from Taylor Dent in 2 tiebreakers stopped him last week. Go Robby!

Good point. But Todd has played both singles and doubles in most tournaments. In his recent future in Hawaii, he lost to a first round local wc but went on to win the doubles title. This has summed up his year, very consistent results in singles and doubles. He has also lost some tough matches but only in hard 15,000 futures when hes had to travel a long distance and get tough draws. Tournaments where he doesnt have these excuses in he does extremely well. Also, he has had sucess in challengers(Yuba City 50,000; Aptos, CA 75,000) These are 2 of 4 or 5 challengers he has competed in. It's a good idea for him to get his ranking up by playing futures. Next year, you will see his name in several challengers, knocking off bigger names.

Haha no i am not, I watched him compete at Wake Forest were he took over the most singles victories in school history. He was also ranked #1 for awhile and in he made it to the NCAA doubles tournament semis. In the NCAA team tournament in the sweet 16, he was up on Devvarmann 7-6(11), 6-7, 6-5

Rest assured, if they had completed that match Sommie would have won. In fact, he probably would have bageled him in the tiebreaker.

I am on Krajinovic today, my only bet from Knoxville. I saw Filip with Simmonds and he played like a 25 years old guy. He is a completed player. He is training to Bolletieri's Academy. This says a lot. I asked Nick about him, and he is confident that Krajinovic will win. The Serbian passed the qualis and defeated the reigning champion, Kendrick. I know the American was tired, but Filip came back from 0-1. It is something... It is true that Battistone is playing serve and volley, he is good at doubles btw, but mediocre as a single player. Same style of playing as Robert and Krajinovic can do it again and prove us he is a wonderkid... HAJDEEEEEEEEEEE FILIP!

PS. I will send this kid to the kindergarten if he will fuk me again after he won with Kendrick my last match on my ticket...

Obviously thats a guess. Todd was actually up a break and he has a lethal serve as the Bryan Bros later said when they practiced with him in the Davis Cup. Anyways, Todd was bouncing around that court the whole day and that was his last match as a Deacon. NO WAY he could have lost to a backboard.

Todd will turn 23 at the end of December. He has moved up 1000 spots in his first full-time year, from 1484 to 485, so now hes got his ranking up enough to compete in bigger tourneys. If you watch this guy play, you will instantly become a fan. Watch out for him next year. He continues to move up the rankings in singles and doubles.

Battistone's can't play with their disgraceful clowny game. Their reasoning on changing the sport is an epic failure.

I am no fan of the Battistones but I am thinking he won one more set than Todd Paul would have done in his current form.

They also won a challenger in doubles.

I think you can argue that they already achieved more than anyone expected from two guys in their late 20's playing with glorified farming equipment. It certainly shows strong determination on their part.

Wow a challeger doubles title! THAT's ALL THEY PLAY FOR! A challenger doubles title! Also, my boy Todd has success against juniors. He beat Ricardis Berankis earlier this year in straights, and had match points aginst Ignatik, but lost 64, 6(8), 26. He might have beaten Krabinovic, he might have lost, but Todd could dispatch teh Battistone's.
