Fed next year

Considering Fed had mono and all his struggles this year,he still made it to three finals and one semi.. Great effort.. I hope he can win this US open and salvage the season and get to 13.

I could see atleast 2 slams for Fed next year. Surely Wimbledon and either Aus or US. But I think Fed can forget French.. He is NOT gonna win it and may be he should take the sampras approach..what do you guys think?? I will be more than happpy if he can win 1 slam in 2010 and probably 2011.. All good and great things have to come to an end right??

So, I guess he will win about 16 slams in his career. My post has no logic or nothing, just a happy Fed fan making predictions about his career. thats all! :wavey:

"Surely Wimbledon"? Really?

Come on..he was playing his absolute worst in the first 2 sets and his back hand completely gave up on him.if he was on that form in any other slam, he would have got killed...even on his worst day, i thought he gave a great fight all because of his heart and his die hard love for Wimbledon..

I am not trying to take anyting form Nadal or his effort, but I cant see Fed having such a bad day next year in Wimbledon finals.. maybe the pressure of goig for the 6th got to him.. next year, he will be hungrier than ever :)

I think he could well win three slams next year, and get to the final of the French again. To most players standards he's had a brilliant year, and that's as you say after having mono, so I have high hopes for 2009. :D :D :D

Definitely he'll do better next year..He won't have to defend big points from this year,so Nadal will have a lot of pressure...I think we can see Roger back on #1 spot soon again....

This "Mono" story is the funniest story I have ever heard. It is so funny to hear sentences such as "Although Federer had a Mono..." C'mon! Stop talking about this Mono. It didn't afected him at all!

I'll wait till the end of this year. If he doesn't win the US Open and loses in the TMC then I'll venture to say there's a passing of the guard. If he does win the US Open and the TMC then I'll put money on him winning at least 2/4 slams next year.

If he is fully fit then he'll probably get to every grand slam final, not sure how many of them he'll win though, safest bet is Wimbledon. Have a feeling murray will win either the AUS or US open and nadal will win the French as usual. I can imagine the 1 to 4 positions in the rankings inter-changing alot next year, with djokovic coming 4th at the end of the year.

He will keep trying/playing at French Open. He's the second best player for the past 3 years after all.

If he wins the US Open then he'll probably win one or two next year as well.

I think he will win the USopen, Wimbly next year. Also, If fed wins Aus, Monte Carlo, Surely the French Open is on the cards.

If he wins one grand slam next year I will be very happy. But first of all I hope that he can take the US Open trophy on Munday. :)

Federer will win more titles next year. Nadal will most likely be unable to maintain such a Rafaesque level of excellence.

Federer will have a better year.

That said... 1 semi, 3 finals in GS (maybe more monday...), Olympic gold... #2 in the world, that is a year to be salvaged?

Didn't you get the memo? Fed never lost when he didn't have mono.

He'll finally win the Grand Slam next year, and all Masters events, and the Davis Cup, and the TMC, and Dubai.

If Fed wins the US Open he has a shot at bandwagon player of the month. Predictable but still hilarious.

Unfortunatly I don't think he will have a better year. He will probably keep losing in the masters, like he did this year, and save it for the slams. I will be satisfied if he wins one slam, preferably wimbledon. :)

The french looks too far away tbh.

I don't expect him to keep the semi-streak going at the end of next year either. I can see him losing in the quarters or earlier one of the four.

OMG I would love that, Dubai is the most important event nowadays.

When you've been winning 3 Slams a year for the past 4 years, making a slam semis, and so far 3 finals is not considered a great effort. For any other player, yes, but not Federer I'm sorry.

Have to love this place, 2 weeks ago he was a washed up mug who would never win a slam again, one good win later he has chances to win multiple slams a year again.

Federe could win the French next year when Nadal "cathes" "mono" and must withdraw.

The only thing certain is that 3 immensely talented youngsters are all ready and waiting to pounce on any let down from Federer, so I think next year will be very tough for the Swiss player, I think he'll do well to win one slam, but obviously he can't be counted out of any.

next year he'll beat the consecutive exhibition matches played as an active player record.

Fed's days of dominance and winning 3 slams every year are gone BUT obviously he can still win 1 slam a year... He will be 28 next year and 29 the folllowing year. So he won't be winning almost all the slams every year like he did when he was younger.
