That was a superb display from Murray. His game today was an excellent mix of defense and aggression. This is the Andy I like to watch and hope he does more of the same. If he bottles up what he did tonight and uses it in the next three matches, he will be very hard to beat.

Too strong from Murray, just too strong.

Masterclass from Murray but let's be honest - he expressed himself out there so well with his game because he was largely allowed to - when he is allowed to, he can be devastating. Stan didn't really offer much in the way of resistance. When Andy was 4-0 up first set from that point on I kept waiting for Stan to get going he never really did at all, and Andy mopped up the court with him.

Just the kind of match Andy needed to conserve energy for a QF showdown with Mr Del Potro.

38 winners, 13 UEs. Nice.

Stan didn't know what to do at times- he was getting blown up playing his clay court construction game so he tried ballbashing from about halfway through set number two, with mixed success.

Playing like this, Muzza will be very hard to beat and even Nadal will have his hands full.

Just gotta hope he schools Del Pony like he did today and saves energy.

Stan with his one-dimensional game would not have taken a set of Murray even if playing his best tennis. Stan is a decent player but I don't think he belongs in the top 10, not long term at least.

Im not knocking jmdp, i think hes got mad talent and athleticism, but his style of play is basically ballbashing. Hes been more consistent than the other ballbashers, but to beat murray he will need to use his brain as well. I could see him getting a set, but definitely not winning.

Yes, everyone in Britain is the same, and we're all twats. If I were a glory seeker I would be supporting Nadal now, surely? And why do I like Tipsarevic? Maybe your generalisation isn't totally spot on.

Murray is officially a better player than Ferrer now. He overtakes him and he'll overtake Davy if he outperforms him, too.

It's fair to say Murray is the 4th best player in the world just now.

Outstanding performance from Murray. Focused from beginning to end, no funny lapses of concentration in between ;) Both players emerged from brutal 5-setters; it's testament to Murray's improved fitness that he showed no signs of fatigue and was able to play at such a high level, with incredible winners/unforced errors ratio.

Worth waking up at an ungodly hour for.

murray will eat del potro alive. he's exactly the kind of player andy is able to outsmart with his versatile game while del potro still seems a bit immature when he's facing players who mix up their games. if murray was a ball-basher del potro would have his chances though.

i'm pretty sure this isn't even gonna be a four-setter, let alone five-setter. 7-6, 6-3, 6-2 murray.

Bad performance from Wawrinka, but especially that crappy unnecessary normal Swiss attitude to totally give up when missing chances are killing his chances to challenge a better player. Just from his body language it was clear that would have been broken after failing those two break points at 3-3 15*-40. He should also stop to take all those balls directly from impossible positions instead of letting them bounce on the court before hitting them.
