Nader? Trotsky?

I don't get it.

But good job, Rafa. :yeah: He's starting to play better. Slowly but surely.

What the hell happened Troicki, fell apart after losing the break in the second set.

The scoreline may be little decieving. Troicki had his chances in the first and second sets, neither were as routine as the scoreline suggests. However, the match itself was never in danger and Troicki basically faded after being broken back in the second set and never won another game.

Nadal was solid; Troicki was abysmal.

11 games won in a row after being dow 1-3 in the second. I think that BP at 2-3* in the second where Rafa hit a FH DTL from outside the court and ball went next to net totally crashed Troicki. He never won a game after that.

Congrats to Nadal
Victor, after winning two rounds, after being the first set down in both, I thought he would not melt that easy. But he did  Still congrats to him for making the 3rd round at his first USO

Troicki gave a good fight in the first two sets. Still the outcome of this match was never in doubt.

Well done, Rafa! :hatoff:

Useless match. I'm happy I didn't watch it.

Nadal was pretty good but he's back to hitting a lot of stuff too short for no apparent reason. I understand that that happens when he's under pressure but today he was hitting a lot of balls around or inside the service line even when they were fairly routine shots that he had time to set up for. It didn't matter though because Troicki was too easily rattled.

So, in other words, the match was in Troicki's hands but he choked?

I thought Rafa played okay - some  shots, as always :inlove: - but he didn't serve very well in the 2nd set :( and he continues to snub the affections of the baseline. And the baseline is a total Rafafangirl. She is desperate for him to step on, or inside, her.

seriously, Nadal isn't playing at the Wimbledon level, but he is still solid. The way he is (and the others are) playing, the only person I can see defeating him is Djokovic.

It surprising how Rafa is never given credit for playing well. It's always his opponents who choke or implode. Well, this is MTF a new way to view tennis when Nadal is concerned. Couldn't it be that Troicki never could handle Rafa's style and was forced into errors, unforced or forced?
Well played Rafa :yippee: :bounce: Rafa is the best, Vamos Rafa!!

There are always those who credit him when he plays really well. In this case I think he played well but not at his peak level, and Troicki clearly collapsed. I don't think that takes anything away from Nadal it's just how the match went.

Does somebody have the point with which Nadal returned the break in the second set? I so want to watch it again, it was INCREDIBLE!!!

Troicki played really well actually, had his chances in the first and second set. This is the first time I watch him play and he definitely made a good impression. Good luck to Rafa in the next round. :yeah:
From what I've seen so far he can reach the final but if he plays Djokovic there, I think that Novak has a better chance to win.

What I posted and your 'in other words' are not related at all. 4, 3 and 0 implies a very easy and dominant victory which this wasn't for a set and a half. I don't really understand your post at all, perhaps you could illuminate how it is you took "Troicki had his chances" or "The scoreline may be little decieving" to mean "the match was in Troicki's hands but he choked."

It's not even like you have the wrong end of the stick here, you aren't even in the same forest.

Not much except their names sounding alike. Nader was a spoiler for 2000 US presidential election. Nadal could be a spoiler for Fed breaking PS record.

Well, to be honest, I feel its going to take some effort for someone to win three sets against Nadal even if the surface is quite quick. I mean, some of his shots (and gets) were fucking ridiculous, its almost demoralising for the opponents, when he keeps hitting such shots again and again...

Djokovic might be one of the few who could tame this bull, lets see...

Enjoyed the match but I have one burning question: WHY IS NADAL STANDING SO FAR BACK FROM THE BASELINE?

He had improved on that during Toronto and the Olympics but he reverted to standing 3 metres back. Puzzled as to why his camp is 'letting' him do it. It must be exhausting and the chances for winners is of course reduced...

Might be the way he so easily wins his matches right now has lulled him back into his Comfort Zone... he hasn't yet been tested at all.
I expect him to go closer to the baseline when he meets a player playing aggressively. So far that hasn't yet happened.
