Which of these will get his 10th title sooner?

Of these four players mid-ranked, who will be the first to achieve his tenth ATP title? State your reasons.

Here are the contendants:

Ivan Ljubičić (8 titles)

29 years, last title was 's-Hertogenbosch in June 2007.

Tommy Robredo (7 titles)

26 years, last title was Bastad in July 2008.

David Nalbandian (8 titles)

26 years, last title was Buenos Aires in February 2008

Juan Martín del Potro (4 titles)

19 years, won all his four in the last two months...

I have to go myself with either Nalbandian or Robredo, very likely Robredo by next summer.

Ljubicic is completely off form, fow a while his serve was good enough to win, now everybody can break him. I doubt he will attain two more.

Nalbandian, well, he could have a flashy end of year?

Robredo is the safest bet, he is getting wins every year.

JMdP has a chance but the gap is larger, however I think we still haven't seen his true potential revealed.

I will go with Tommy also, he is reviled on GM but is one of my favourites. More germaine to this thread is his consistency in getting titles every year. Vamos Tommy.

Robredo, as long as MM clay tourneys exist.

Unfortunately I don't see Ivan winning 2 more titles. He might get one and that's only if he finds his form soon. I also don't see Robredo winning 3 titles, I hope he won't win them. Nalbandian was stepped up his level at the end of last year, if he repeats it he will be the one, if not Del Potro might.

I think Nalbandian if he has a good run. Ljubo is done.

He is "only" two titles away from the goal. May be too much for him, I agree. But I didn't want to compare players of very similar achievements & age, I really think JMdP will surpass the other three eventually but ljuba truba has his chance to get two minors before JMdP gets six titles.

Unfortunately I don't see Ljubo winning a single title more...really in decline at the moment, and I think losing to Stakhovsky in the Zagreb title match says a lot really.

I'd be struggling to choose between Nalbandian and Robredo...Bandy obviously has the talent to win a title at any time, and in practically any place, but he is so inconsistent. On the other hand, Robredo is a little more limited, but is likely to score every once in a while in the MM events.

It´ll be a razor thin finish for Del Potro ahead of Nalbandian who should have an amazing.....8! Titles by the time that happens.

That´s unless Fit Dave has anything to say about the issue.

Robredo, as long as MM clay tourneys exist.

Less than a year ago, he won a HC title defeating Andy Murray in the final.

I think Robredo is the hardest worker of them, even with nothing in his game that is really spectacular.

The prospect of him winning more titles than class players like Henman, Ferrero and Safin is a very sad possibility.

Ought to be Nalby but IMO Robredo will. Del Potro will surpass him in the long run, I believe.

But out of those Nalbandian.

They can win as many titles as they want but at the end of the day grand slam's are where it counts, and to the above person, Murray will never win a slam.

Probably Robredo cause the gap is too big, but if Delpo can win 2 more tournaments this year I think he will surpass the 10 the fastest.

and to the above person, Murray will never win a slam.

But on the contrary, if any of those ever wins a slam it will be Andy.

He wont win a slam i agree. He's 21 now and if he hasn't done it by now he never will.

Rubbish. He can always pull an Ivanisevic at 30.

Probably Del Potro. He's owned everyone at the smaller tournaments recently.

LOL, zero votes for Ljubicic? I remember he had a few fans in this board, and well, I don't think he is completely out of chances of having a good run again.

I fail to see the relevance of this post.

Ljubo has been playing and acting semi-retired for a while, so I'm not surprised with the lack of faith. He's to become a father soon, so I don't really see the drive coming back to him any time soon, but who knows. Zagreb is probably his best bet for the next one, both becuase of the surface and the home crowd. I'd go with Nalby.

Del Potro.

Nalbandian has never been good at actually winning titles. Only exception is when he took Madrid and Paris back to back last year, but he has sucked ever since hen.

Ljubicic and Robredo are useless.

It might sound crazy but I heard from 3 different commentators that outside of the top 3 del Potro was the best contender for winning USO'08.

I couldn't believe my ears. Is he really that good already?

Congrats to Nalby on his 10th title but really this guy should have like around 20 titles even if they are MM tourneys.
