3 hours. Great great match from Björn, he fought soooooo hard and gave the crowd some entertaining stuff. Nice try, Björn. :) He made it a good match with some spectacular winners and rallies. Hopefully he can gain some confidence from this and gets back to the Top100. Auf geht's, Björn!

Boring match. Phau played ok, nothing outstanding, quick and had quite a fighting spirit. He just didn't go away. Rafa played quite badly. And that Luke Jensen guy was super annoying. Granted he did know some stuff, but he kept repeating the same stuff of how Phau should play, not considered how hard it would be to execute. On that of that his voice is so corny, make me want to put pencil to my ears. Thank God there's a mute button.

Ah, my bad. Your comment did seem odd. I should have known. I'm not a fan of having to use smilies to indicate humour, so I feel rather silly :)

And yes, Rafa definitely needs to step it up. He isn't normally anywhere near that erratic. From a selfish point of view, it bodes well for Muzza. If Rafa plays like that and his blisters get worse, I don't expect him to reach the semis. As great as his will to win is, sheer force of personality won't get it done for him on a hard court.

wow, three sets in three hours? that's vintage Nadal for you folks, some 5 setters end under 3 hour mark, yet Nadal still manages to last a little bit longer than needed...granted he is gonna have some serious issues injuries, especially in knees area, these nasty hard courts are gonna take their toll on his body. I f he wants to stay healthy and remain his Nr.1 spot for some time, he has to figure out how to beat his opponents faster

Well I was expecting something like that. Rafa is always having slow starts and he always draws some spirited Q for opening matches - Troicki at AO, Bellucci at FO, Beck at Wimbledon and now that Phau. All of them have given him a hard time. Last time I checked you couldn't lose your service with a DF. You need to lose some points with your serve before that.

But it's true he won his service games easily through the match while Phau had to face BPs all the time. Which he saved with spectacular shots and volleys, with a little help of a completely blunt Nadal.
