Is Marcelo Rios over?

What do you think about this?

I don't think Rios is gonna be like before...

I hope he can come back, cos when he is on his tennis is just wonderful.

looks like the end though

I thought he was coming back after he played so well in this years AOpen, but he has faded since. He's what, 26 now?. If he's ever gonna come back, he should do it quickly.

07-18-2002, 09:56 AM
faded due to injuries
he played Andre of the park in the semis in Miami, then got injured and had to retire at a set all
missed clay season
and only came back last week in Davis Cup

Controversial he may be but he is also very interesting

O V E R :) :p

I don't like his attitude on court and outside.... he's a real crap. As a person.

He's got unequal tennis qualities. His timing is flawless, antecipation and counterattack. I doubt he will be back like Carlos Moya.

They're from the same "generation" but Carlos made it and Marcelo broke it.

07-19-2002, 03:35 PM
I think he can come back.

07-19-2002, 05:06 PM
Yes he will.
He was starting to do this year, and got an unexpected injury. He almost did Miami finals, I think he still can comrback.

You know Rios, he always loses badly to some lower players, and also when he wants to play he plays. And very well.

Comparing him with Moyá, he has more talent then him, so I believe he still can return in great style. Not like in 1998, but he will

Wait and see ;)

I hope you guys are right and that he indeed can find his old form back... It would be better if he could change somethings about his behavior and mind, though... IF that was to happen, I would say he WILL be better. As I dont see that happening any time soon, I will say that MAYBE he will. And that because of his huge talent.
