Llegué ayer y hoy fue mi primer día de prácticas en Beijing. Fueron dos sesiones de una hora cada una. Por la mañana, el calor era demasiado, por lo que tengo claro que el juego será lento, con la pelota pesada y la cancha rugosa. No es la misma cancha donde gané el torneo el año pasado, pero se parece.
Hay tres cosas que sí he sentido: el cambio de horario, la contaminación y el calor. En estos momentos, que son las 11 de la noche, estoy muerto de sueño y me voy a dormir, pero de aquí al fin de semana estaré acostumbrado. Hoy me picaron mucho los ojos, producto de la contaminación. Y el calor, bueno, ya les conté, tuve que seguir entrenando en la tarde porque era desagradable.
La Villa Olímpica es cómoda. Me asignaron una pieza con Massú, pero el Nico no llega aún. Si en este momento que estoy solo tengo un gran desorden, me imagino cómo irá a ser cuando llegue él, jajajaja.
Buenos amigos, estoy muy cansado. Mañana les cuento más cosas y quizás tengo algunas fotos de acá de Beijing.

Coverage of these games is not going to be the best as far as I can see. :sad: first day of play and gonzo is complaining about the huge effort he made (latercera.cl) and asking for an extra rest-break (said that in espndeportes website)... @_@ this is not looking good for the rest of the week AT ALL..., if he gets Monaco in the next round he could lose simply by fatigue 'cuz of Monaco's gamestyle (and if he gets Cilic at least he can lose by being outplayed (like in AO LOL :lol:) but playing shorter points) given the conditions, a new medal in this games would be nothing but a miracle, i'll eat my keyboard if they pull this one off :lol:.

Yeah, looks like they've moved Fernando's match but there is still livestreaming from court 2. For us in the US its on NBC Gonzalez, but I don't know if it that works for you.

the first match against peng was a weird match, when Gonzo got a break in each set didn't make too much effort , just held his serve until the end, i was worried cuz' Gonzo started complaining about the conditions and blablabla...
the second against Cilic was a good match, but cilic had much more UEs than Feña and played in a veery different level than in the AO when he defeated gonzo
the third one was pretty good actually, evrything going his way and Rochus doesn't really have any weapon to hurt his game so it wasn't a surprise either.

When James beat Simon so easily I figured he was playing well and he did beat Rogi in straights despite Rogi trying to stay in the match [he couldn't get a first serve in and made 56 UEs -- just didn't get anything going and looked tired and slow to me]. I haven't seen Fena's matches but he has won in straights, which is a good thing to conserve energy.
Since Fena has been there before at the Olympics and James hasn't let's hope it's an advantage for Fena tomorrow. Also when playing Rogi, James had NO PRESSURE whatsoever, even fr the US as they are all focused on one athlete and only one. James definitely flying under the radar in Beijing and playing freely, serving well and hitting those darned lines.

I want to see FENA with a medal, preferably GOLD.
