yes, he is out according to my source - tennisoncourt website - which is pretty reliable.

about Wild Cards, Frederik Nielsen is confirmed, but if he enters main draw as alternate then the WC will be given to another player. You can count on Pedersen playing as well. I guess the others WC's will go to Norby and Kromann. These are the players who have a profile at the website, and it's not an exact match with last year edition.

more info can be found at the official website http://www.dtfchallenger.dk/

You know that Marco is a very good player if he is fit ;)

Gojowczyk doesn't seem that good, based on his results. Yes, he did well in Futures, but they were weak events. Against good players, he usually struggles and falters. I don't have high hopes for him when I follow his scores.

Anyway, I am very happy for Marco that the hard work is paying off. It's an important win that I was not expecting whatsoever, and it's good practice as well for Basel.

What you saying sounds slightly contradictory -- on the one hand Chiudinelli is a very good player if fit, and on the other hand he just won 7-6(6) in the third against Golowczyk who is very bad. I realize Chiudinelli struggled a lot with injuries and may be happy just to play (and win a match) again, but this scoreline does not suggest that he will make a strong impact in the next few weeks.

Gojowczyk should have a top 100 chance sooner or later with his unique style.

Chiudinelli saved a mp at **5-6, but was also 61 *43 40-30 up.

How is it contradictory? He is using this match as practice and to get some match rhythm. Most players aren't exactly in prime shape in one of their first events back. And there is an upward line, if you look at Marco's results in the Swiss league and Futures matches he played.

Marco was supposed to play in Mons, but was not fit enough; for Kolding he was fit enough, but he is rusty, obviously.

Kind of disappointing from Becker :(.

Becker's results have been disappointing this year. In this tournament he had to play qualifications because he signed up late, that probably took the freshness out of him. Earlier this year someone reported that Becker suffered badly from a neurological problem in his lower legs called "shin splints" which is related to playing on hard surfaces. Although not bad enough to stop him playing or retire during a match, I suspect it has a lot to do with his declining results.

That's true, he started the year by winning futures and won a lot of matches in challengers. But then around March he got injured for quite a while and until recently it seemed something still wasn't right with him, with a light schedule with mostly losses (only exception was a SF in Manchester on grass). I think if he had remained healthy the top-100 would have been a realistic possibility. Now if he wants to reach the top-100 again he probably will have to do well for most of the 2009 season.
