Thanks - fingers crossed.

No - night out last night and didn't get back til 11 but was confident so good to see Toad was flaxed as expected. Hope to see highlights this pm - am WAH. I cannot and will not accept the babygro though - people are laughing at him all over the web. The orange is OK - it suits his colouring - and would have been fine with black trim/shorts.

Yes - black would have been great  Must admit I agree with whoever it was yesterday, who said the baby blue did look slightly better in daylight than it did under the lights - but I'm still unimpressed.

Btw - completely random and off-topic - but you know I've been job hunting lately? Well - I think I've found one and I really like it :bounce: They phoned and offered it to me this morning - so all I have to do now is agree money and then wait for all the paperwork etc. I was one of 200 applicants  and 50 interviewees (is that a word?),- so even if I turn them down eventually I'm still dead pleased with myself :)

OK - back to topic -Nole - take off those shorts

Excuse me?

Congrats on your job offer - hope it's what you want. Out of that many no wonder you're chuffed. Dima's on the ATP round up show if you're home...

Am not convinced the babygro would look good even by candlelight myself...but we'd better stop right there.

Let's just nip this in the bud.

If you two have a disagreement, it's something you should deal with privately and not air out in the forums in front of everyone.

This forum is not a battle zone and will not ever be used as such. It is a safe haven for many posters and I cannot let personal arguments continue here.

Thank you Jess - I am 100% in agreement with you, and respect your position as Forum Mod. I have no wish to bring "personal arguments" in here and would not wish to see it happen, for the sake of all the other posters here. Hi everyone! This is my last post before I leave and I have a lot to say.

First of all, I promise I will try to log in as many times as possible. :) I can't live with you guys. Also I will do everything I can to watch all Nole's matches and transmit him good energies, afterall, we're soul mates, right?:angel:

Secondly, whenever you need positive energy and I am not here to help, just think about what Nole has already achieved and how good he is on hard courts. He won't let us down, always believe in him, he wants this title more than anything right now, I am sure. Ajde Nole! :inlove:

Finally, don't miss me too much ok? All right, I probably will miss you more than you will miss me. Anyway, you know I love you ALL, no matter what. We are Djokovic boppers remember? We are one big happy family no matter what!

Talk to you all later, maybe tomorrow. :wavey::hug::smooch:

I'm looking forward to Nole beating the tar out of Snagglepuss today. Good luck to Nole.

If he defends his title this year they'll have to change the Roger's Cup to Novak's Cup. ;)

btw, what's babygro?

Have a great holiday, Raquel. http://bonanzaworld.net/forums/imagesold/vacation.gif

I wish I had your confidence about tonight  Andy has got to break his bad run against Novak some time - maybe tonight? Our commentators are 100% sure he's going to win anyway :) Youknow what the Brit media are like

And as for what is a babygro? See attached pic :) I'm sure you have them in the States- just call them something else. A sleepsuit maybe? Here in the UK, the little boys' ones are almost always the same shade of blue as Novak's shorts :tape:

That is an extremely good point and should influence your decision. Rose - better make some discreet enquiries.

Exactly.

If Murray wins, which it seems probable at this point, he played aggressively at the start and besides the fact that was a winning gameplan, it also really seemed to shake up Novak. Novak seems asleep today and just totally completely off and some credit for that has to be given to Murray for just playing much better than he has in previous encounters.

I don't know what it is today but... I don't like what I am seeing on court from Novak

Oh credit to Andy - no doubt - he's playing superbly.

But Nole seems to have lost his fizz recently and also his inate on court intelligence which usually serves him so well.

But a break back now...

He hasn't seemed like himself all tournament. He's still emotionally out of it, IMO. The early loss at Wimby and time off did nothing to change that. He needs to get it together and deal with the pressure before people begin to write him off. Please get back to normal, Nole!

Simon has to be getting tired, physically and emotionally. I guess I don't have much faith in Kiefer's ability to keep his play up, which could be a huge mistake. Wawa could be a problem, as could Gulbis, though they have to get to the QFs first.

I do beleive Nole can do well here in my heart, but my head is very worried. Not even about the quality of the opponents so much as where Djokovic's head is at.

This was not in the script. I wasn't really convinced by the mental fatigue after Wimbledon but in any case he's now had 4 weeks to R & R. This is the second match where he hasn't lost a tight battle which could have gone either way but has been made to look every ordinary. And this was on his favourite surface but the performance was uncertain and lacking in intelligence. So what is wrong with him?

Possibly you don't want my opinion since I'm from "the other side"...but I have to say I thought he was struggling to deal with the pressure - more than a little bit. I don't think there's anything to worry about - I just think that this is pretty much the time last year when he took the #3 ranking and he's perhaps more aware now of being the hunted as well as the hunter and is taking a bit longer to get totally comfortable with that and still play his best game regardless.

He's passed so many other tests so convincingly that I don't see this being much of a problem for him if this is what it is - he will adjust, and probably very quickly - never seen someone learn quite so fast as he does.

*Ljubica*
07-26-2008, 10:25 AM
Morning. Well I was just too tired to come on here last night when the match finished, so I guess everything has already been said.

I actually agree with scoobs - he is feeling the pressure- big time. It's only natural - he's still only a kid, and despite what the haters say, he gets nervous just like everyone else (the ball bouncing is all due to nerves and trying to calm himself in my opinion).

Having said that - take nothing away from Murray - he played well. I'm not a fan, but he played some great tennis out there last night - he was the better player in that match and deserved to win - well done to him.

As for the future - well - I'm not one who gets stressed about rankings, or defending points, or who is Number, 1, 2, 3 or whatever  Frankly - who cares? Nole is a person - not a machine - he will have good days and bad days, good results and bad results, and I will support him through it all because I like and respect him as a person. Most of my other faves (Tursunov, Tipsarevic, Cilic etc) are far lower ranked than Nole and it doesn't stop me supporting them - I stil love and believe in them, and feel the same about Nole.

So let's move on to Cinci - he has a reasonable draw there :)

Wawa may have a knee problem but he could prove to be the biggest handful - I think Simon will be exhausted next week and should find the court speed change too much to adjust to quickly enough. I think Kiefer will likely also lose early and easily - at his age I don't see him going on a march in back to back weeks somehow.

Thank you for posting. I hope you're right. To me he has seems deflated since losing at RG to Rafa. I do agree that he's feeling the pressure and that he may be better suited to chasing rather than been chased but time will tell. He also worries too much what other people say about him and what he says himself. I wish he wouldn't care.

And why should you think we don't want your opinion? Most of us here on Nole's forum try to make this an intelligent and rational place to discuss Nole and tennis in general and also support a number of other players. Please don't let the odd nutters colour your view of all Nole's fans.

I guess when he won the Australian, having dismissed Federer it could be quite easy for him and for fans too to perhaps think "right, he's there now. He's where he needs to be." But in many ways that's just the beginning, then a different set of pressures arise and that takes some adjustment too. Maybe he just needs a quick breather at base camp to get used to the conditions up there before pressing on higher :)

One of the rules for rising to the top is: No Distractions

But, you know, Djokovic will have to find his own way. He's a very sociable guy who likes to be involved. It would be sad if he really let himself be distracted and never achieved his potential. Tennis is tough. It really makes players dig deep into their psyches.

I hope he pops back at Cincy. You know, just think "Nadal's the favorite. No pressure on me."

I agree with this as well. I thought that was why he played so badly, so flatly at Wimby. But I thought he would bounce back at Toronto. Now I hope it's Cincy. It's not even like he has to win everything (though that wouldn't be bad ;)) but it bothers me that he looks sort of miserable out there.
mmm and if you read his post-match presser, the words suggest he's feeling kinda stressed and harassed but doesn't really say why - he falls back on the old "bad day at the office" line.

Hi Squad. Unlike Rose I am still devostated, can't believe. And I'm feeling worse than last night. I am sure is was/is all about from Queens final...

Gosh, I can't talk about it.

The great thing about tennis is there's always another tournament around the corner. All you can do is hope that Djokovic learns what he needs to learn and progresses.

I know it's easier for me because I still have one player that I support left in the tournament. Maybe that's why I like so many players -- So I'm not let down when one loses. :)

I like all 4 players left in the tournament :rolls:

So I'm bummed about Novak but I still have a lot to cheer for :) It really does help to like a lot of players :rolls:

I don't have that many players and many are headcases, so I learn very well to not get too disappointed from a player's loss. And of course, being a Guga fan, you just have to accept fate.

Ditto for me but I'm procastinating and still embedded my brain with the view of the Rockies

OH. Now I get it. You meant the location line and I meant my flag :rolls:

:tape: :rolls: I've completely lost it in this Kiefer-fever that I have succumbed to.

Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't ;) Depends on the guy.

It works for Kiwi :lick: :lick:

Kiwi is one of only a handful of tennis players that just makes me  :aplot: :aplot: and especially in this pic.

Full size attached along with a few others in the same shirt and therefore maybe the same night ;)
