In the game, participants pick the winners of all main draw matches and are placed in a knock-out system. That means each participant plays a different participant and whoever predicted the winner of most matches correctly, moves on to the next round. The same applies for doubles, but you're in a team format and your scores are combined.
Note:
- In case of a tie, a tie-breaker will decide who moves on to the next round.

- In case a player (i.e. the actual ATP Player) retires in a match, this match will be counted as long as one point has been played. If players are replaced by a lucky loser after the start of Tennis Tipping, these matches will be cancelled.

Just post here that you would like to play. You can only play one tournament per week. Entries will be based on ranking. Everyone can commit.

How to send in picks:
Picks can be sent in as soon as the draws are ready. Remember, you pick a winner in every match! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: [TT: Samarkand Day #]. Picks can be sent in anytime until the beginning of play each day. If you're still in both singles & doubles, you use the same tips for both. For doubles, you still tip the ATP singles matches, not the doubles! No changes can be made after the play has started. It will be highly appreciated if you send only the last names of the players. I don't want to kill nkp2's dream but the odds are worse for him...
I'm pretty sure when the draw is uncomplete when made (I mean people missing when drawing which is different from walk-overs), seeded players get the bye first...
So the odds are worse at 7/2 for him to avoid playing first round (two players to make a match)!!

But then the draw can't be random. This isn't a qualifying round, it just so happens that there are tons of Byes.
It's like any other 1st round, if the highest ranked unseeded player plays the top seed it's just bad luck.

RezNik should get a Bye and pavkata should play one of the other three of the four last-ranked players. Maybe lucian_iasi can be moved to pavkata's opponent spot.

I was actually worried by the early start of the games - 10 am local time - this is 7 am CET, I'm afraid a lot of people could miss out on sending picks on time, maybe we should make a normal doubles format, since there are only 2 games in singles, and should not be such a big problem, what do you think?

There was a proposition yesterday to have the doubles as follows:
QF - Monday and Tuesday (R1)
SF - Wednesday and Thursday (R2 and 1/2 the QFs)

because there are only 8 teams involved, and I thought that everyone had agreed, but since you didn't know, we'll have to change it to the way it was initially, I suppose

because there are only 8 teams involved, and I thought that everyone had agreed, but since you didn't know, we'll have to change it to the way it was initially, I suppose
Just go back to QF = Tuesday and leave everything else the same ;)

i wasnt able to read the thread yesterday so i had just a look on the schedule of play and tt schedule and there wasn#t an info that doubles qf will start on monday so i send no picks. sorry for that, you dont have to change it again just for me

Yes, I was in a hurry on Sunday when doing the draws, and then I did the OOP really late - just a few hours before the start of play (time difference:p) and forgot to change the days for the doubles on the first page...

Now everything is back to zero... and a fair game begins again...

I haven't said anything because it was decided at 2AM when I already have sent the picks and I was sleeping
and by the way our doubles would have also won with only the tuesday picks, so it is not winning or losing that matters
in my opinion it should be like it was, with doubles qf monday+tuesday
but that's just my opinion, maybe the board knows what to do

I thought it was just a game, and we were just happy to have a unexpected double tournament here, but about asking the board, remember they should know some details :
- that the "rescheduling" idea comes from you on Sunday 4:23 pm (post 110) to Tankman (so 15 h before picking)...
probably is better (and more fun) with a doubles final predicting QF,SF and F or semifinals predicting R2 and QF

I think its a good idea Pavel... the manager has a bit of freedom to tinker with the schedule anyway :) (or at least I think they do :lol:)

I was actually worried by the early start of the games - 10 am local time - this is 7 am CET, I'm afraid a lot of people could miss out on sending picks on time, maybe we should make a normal doubles format, since there are only 2 games in singles, and should not be such a big problem, what do you think?
And even said on post 130 :
"That's what we've been discussing. If everyone agrees, then "yes". If someone doesn't send picks and wants things to go as usual, I think we'll have to go back to the original plan, but I think that it would be more interesting if we do it the way Tankman suggested"
So for me starting from zero tomorrow is not that bad ;)

Pavkata, what was wrong with Keeping it Tuesday only quarters..... after all, tiptopdaisy came on and sent picks for today surely, so why not keep it like that.
I certainly don't have a problem with Monday being discounted for doubles, but I think tuesday should be included. I'm kinda confused as to why it's not.....

nothing really should be wrong with QFs being Tuesday - unless there are any serious objections, this surely must be the best way.
The only problems I can think of are if people changed/picked a certain way because they were leading/losing... but if this is not an issue for most people then we should count Tuesday's picks for the QF
anyways I'll do the diffs for Gallina - Kielian now

Well in any case the only options I could see were either Monday+Tuesday, Tuesday or Wednesday (Tuesday+Wednesday is possible too but a tad complicated imho)... starting the round on Thursday was never a good option in my mind... my emergency PM for everyone to send picks was so that people would be covered in the event they got through
The problem with Wednesday at the moment is that some people didnt send picks under the assumption that they lost already.
If things don't work out, the results of the doubles tournament here may not be able to be counted as official results.

I got a PM asking me to send picks for Thursday.... should I bother? After all, the running of events was -:
One - new order suggested unless anyone missed it or was affected
Two - Tiptop missed the new order, so Order from Tuesday was invoked AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED
That's all there is too it really. Doubles should be from Tuesday as everyone else sent picks. There is no argument either way as far as I see it.
So on that principal I am not sending picks as I believe the results should stay as they are :)
