This was a Challenger that was cancelled at the first of the year and then got put back on the schedule by the USTA. Waco hasn't been helpful in funding the tournament, even with pros like Dorsch, Becker and other BU alums trying to help.

He got lots of attention after he played Nadal in front of so many people at the U.S. Open.

Yeah, I know he made a great run at Flushing Meadows, beating Monroe, Jun, Hartfield and O.Rochus before losing to Nadal, but I meant that I don't know why he did withdraw here

A lot of players withdrew from here because of the Hurricane. I talked to Jamie Baker yesterday and he said that he didn't want to wait around and decided he would rather just fly back home to Scotland.

Isner here

Well at 144 in the world he doesn't have much options except play challengers -- and if he doesn't get some good results he will lose last year's points and drop even further in the rankings.

A year ago after only two months on Pro tour his ranking ironically was exactly the same as it is now -- 144th, despite the fact he has now played for points for a full year.

Obviously he has to play challengers, I was just commenting on the fact that he would decide to go there so late in the game with that entire section of the country as it is now.

I just got back from the tournament. Let me tell you one thing, those courts at Baylor University are very very slow. To the dislike of many, ie Reynolds, Ram, Kim. The Kim match could of and should of ended in 2 sets. Phillip was up a set and 3-0(2 breaks) in the second before he lost the set 6-4 and smashed his racquet over his knee. He did play a very inspired third, but as mentioned before, this is the type of surface Kevin hates. A total contrast to the courts last week. A fast outside hard court, but an extremely lightning fast indoor court where Kim beat Reynolds on. Spadea totally overmatched young Helgeson. In the matchup of David and Goliath, Isner, who was a full foot taller than his wc opponent dominated in less than an hour. Alex "Bogie" Bogomolov won a hard fought 3 setter against Reynolds as both guys served horrible in the windy conditions. The match reminded me of a clay court match with as many break of serves there were. At one point serve was broken 8 consecutive times. Widom, who lost to Warburg in the first round last week in Tulsa, pulled out a tough 3 setter as the good friends put on a nice show for the crowd. Sweeting also looked very good this morning in the first set, got a little lazy in the second(got a verbal warning for dropping a f bomb) but pulled it out in straights. I have a hard time seeing Isner lose before he gets to the semis, even though the court is playing slow. I'm going with Bogie or Sweeting in the top half with Spadea taking out Isner in the semis before beating either Ryan or Alex B. in the finals. Unfortunately I wont be back in Waco tomorrow, but I'll have Mr. Crossland email results as they happen and will try and post them on here asap. You guys can forget calling the tourney because they dont have a so called tournament desk where results can be given to you. Hell their wireless wasn't even working so myself or any of the players couldn't get online.

BTW, our Dallas Challenger will be Jan 31-Feb 7...Hope to see everyone visit our site for another great tournament.

Actually you would think Kim would like a slow surface, but he hits the ball so flat and on a fast surface it stays nice and low. Simmonds tracked down a lot of balls that on a faster surface he wouldn't of. I also think Kevin was a little emotional drained from last week and wanted some time off.

id take dorsch because of home court(courts he played on in college), but smyczeck was lights out last night in doubs.

sirrianni-but i dont have a feel for this match.

sweeting/bogie-flip a coin. if bogie can return as well as he did yesterday, i think he frustrates ryan to death. best match of the day in my opinion.

simmonds, but be careful of this one. could have a letdown from such a big win yesterday.

spadea-no problems here. lester did play well yesterday, but this is a different level.

isner-francis had a great conversation with dorsch yesterday. i was talking to dorsch when francis came up to him and said, "have any pointers vs. isner"? dorsch said, "yeah, get into a tiebreaker and pray"...funny stuff. i would take isner here, but its a very large price.

Yes, he isn't that good. I've seen him at least twice and I don't see him making the top 500. Last year, he even lost to the legend Adrian Voinea in three sets, although the Romanian had to serve underhand the whole match. (I read about it, but haven't seen it myself unfortunately.)

bogie over widom. back to back 3 setters on a not 100% knee for widom catches up with him.

Be wary of betting against Dorsch here, he played collegiately at Baylor (where this tourney is being held) for four years and was one of the elite college players. He played number one ahead of Benjamin Becker and he's very at home on these courts.

snowwy, granted these courts are slow, but in no way are they clay court slow. it is a contrast to what they played on last week in tulsa. no matter the surface, after watching both, peter will have to play much better than he did vs. witten to advance..imo

I would give Dorsch the advantage if the tourney had any type of people watching. Unfortunately this was a tourney that was a last minute addition and Waco didn't have any chance to advertise to get the word out. The local paper has done a few articles, but on Tuesday at least, there were never anymore than 30 people watching at any given time.

I dont think he will beat Spadea either, but Monroe was an easy match, this is a guy who made the final of the US Open as a junior but now has better results on clay.

talked to isner few mintues ago and he said this match was a tough one to swallow. long as dorsch or bogie wins it, i'll be happy. sorry didn't get anymore results. isner didn't seem like he wanted to chat much, so i didn't press for anymore results.

Yeah it must be tough to lose a match like that where he had a match point. I definatly see a Dorsch vs. Bogie final. Wow looks like Peter was so close (Peter very well might have had match points just like Isner looking at the scoreline) Spadea is toast tommorow against Dorsch though :) Also Bogie should handle Sirianni who has been pretty bad all year and is a surprising semifinalist here.

Can't wait till the Dallas Challanger :)

There is no live stream.

This is not the Dallas Challenger.
