Didn't see much of the match but it seems Gasquet was playing very well. That stats do look good. Don't think he's going to come close to defending all of his points from last year though.

Well done, Richard! Wish I could have watched the match. Did anyone manage to catch it? KitinovRules 06-24-2008, 02:02 PM Richie's forhend is suddenly looking very good. lalit 06-24-2008, 02:03 PM Super!Well done, Richard! Wish I could have watched the match. Did anyone manage to catch it? i did he is not raining forehand errors like he normally does scoobs 06-24-2008, 02:03 PM Yes he was hitting some awesome shots today. Fish looked bemused by the end. Vlad1980 06-24-2008, 02:04 PM Richie's forhend is suddenly looking very good. That's what I noticed too.. he was going for it and it looked even better than last year. Backhand wasn't too shabby either:D dam0dred 06-24-2008, 02:04 PM Allez Dickie! :) krystlel 06-24-2008, 02:05 PM Yes I think the talk about Gasquet faltering was premature considering that last year he lost to Qureshi in Nottingham before doing well at Wimbledon, and he did show signs of good form in Queen's (or at least not a lack of confidence). Good match from Gasquet, there were a lot of winners coming off of his racquet today. Fish didn't play badly at all but was just outplayed. Beat 06-24-2008, 02:06 PM nice one :) Herdwick 06-24-2008, 02:08 PM Gorgeous stuff from Richie - pure pleasure to watch. Every now and then he reminds us how fabulous he could be. groundstroke 06-24-2008, 02:08 PM People shouldn't expect much of Gasquet. If he manages to pass the third round, then build some hype on him. Herdwick 06-24-2008, 02:11 PM We don't expect anymore but you can't stop us hoping... Puschkin 06-24-2008, 02:15 PM Gorgeous stuff from Richie - pure pleasure to watch. :woohoo: looking forward to watching the match later today, the stats look good. Mĺnu 06-24-2008, 02:19 PM He has a kind of similar draw than last year with easy rounds against probably French players afterwards. Then eventually Murray in the 4th. I hope ther'll be a 1/4 Gasquet Nadal! Clydey 06-24-2008, 02:22 PM He played well. Didn't expect him to be approaching "Roddick form" in this tournament again. selyoink 06-24-2008, 02:26 PM Haha what a mug this Fish is. And people seriously thought this was to be a tough match. All the American commentators and journalists thought the Fish would take this. Idiots. Fish already had his one good tournament for the year. Norrage 06-24-2008, 03:01 PM Gasquet was very impressive, i dont get all your negativity..last year he played just as bad during the buildup and reached the semis. ~*BGT*~ 06-24-2008, 03:07 PM His shots. He was very good today. :) Argenbrit 06-24-2008, 03:31 PM We don't expect anymore but you can't stop us hoping... :yeah: Schu 06-24-2008, 03:32 PM From the little I saw - good stuff. Hope this was just the BEGINNING of his good form and not a blip. Keep it up Richie! rofe 06-24-2008, 03:36 PM It is a pleasure to watch Ritchie when he is on song. Hope he can keep it up in this tournament. He clearly likes this surface and the venue. :yeah: Corey Feldman 06-25-2008, 01:40 AM Is Gasquet the new Henri Leconte? ~*BGT*~ 06-25-2008, 01:53 AM Is Gasquet the new Henri Leconte? He loved Leconte as a boy. ;) Jaffas85 06-25-2008, 02:03 AM Hopefully we'll see a 4th round match between Gasquet and Murray. Corey Feldman 06-25-2008, 02:04 AM Hopefully we'll see a 4th round match between Gasquet and Murray.Yep revenge for that flukey Paris win last year i've waited all my life for it ~*BGT*~ 06-25-2008, 02:26 AM Yep revenge for that flukey Paris win last year i've waited all my life for it May the 0-... H2H continue between Murray and all the players in his generation. :woohoo: guy in sf 06-25-2008, 04:06 AM Yep revenge for that flukey Paris win last year i've waited all my life for it Gasquet is 2-0 against Murray...flukey? Sounds like a bitter Murray fan! Nathaliia 06-25-2008, 11:00 AM This is nice by Gasquet but he has many points to defend. Becker's Volleys 06-25-2008, 11:49 AM Caught some highlights of this match last night, Gasquet was incredible. That guy has so much talent, I don't understand why he does not do better through the course of the year. He was ripping winners from everywhere and some of the backhands were insane. He went on a run like this last year, I remember against Roddick he was simply immense. He just never seems to keep good consistent runs of form going, but against Fish yesterday it was fantastic shotmaking, a joy to watch. | |
