Berdych comes through in the clutch moments breaking Korolev when he was serving for the match.

I feel bad for Korolev, he served for the match and was going to be his biggest win in the tour.

I feel so bad for Korolev because he was so close  but I feel happy for Berdych because he's still coming back from injury (though I'm not the biggest Berdych fan in general).

Berdych tanked the first and fourth set so he could improve his 5 set match record.

He has beaten Davydenko before, a win over Berdych wouldn't top that.

Seriously though, what is going on with him nowadays? Yes he had the ankle injury but he wasn't playing too well even before that

Nar, a five set win over Berdych at Wimbledon coming back from two sets to one down would have been bigger than a win at Marseille.

Korolev was holding with ease (except for 1 game) in the 5th set until he had to serve for match. He hit 1 out of 7 1st serves in that game and double faulted at *5-3 deuce

Congrats Berdych, but I don't see him in R4 with such a poor movement.

Berdych is the Mini Safin in more ways than one. It's a shame, because he does have quite a bit of talent. But when they redo The Wizard of Oz, he can play the Scarecrow. "If I only had a brain..."

I haven't seen the match. What was wrong with Tomas? Does he have problems with his ankle again?

I'm glad that he came through in the end, after being a break down in the last set.

Doris, I didn't follow all the drama too carefully but what I saw was that he hurt his ankle on one step/jump a bit again. He didn't call the doc to tape it or anything and managed to finish the match but he was limping when he walked off and touched his right ankle again. I hope it wasn't too serious.

Thanks for the info Maria :)

Hopefully Tomas' ankle will be ok and he can play his next match.

Berdych was rubbish, when the serve didn't work he failed to produce anything worthy from the BS. He was a machine of short balls that Korolev put precisely into the court.

Well, at least it was until he served for the match. They say it was a right thing that Korolev actually had won the match cause he probably played his best grasscourt encounter...

but eventually he is known for great choke activities that he demonstrated in the end starting to hit every ball long and wide.

So this moron lost and Tomas actually won.

Tomas really had problems with his ankle.

He says his win over Moya in 2004 Barcelona is his biggest win.

Still good to pull it off in the end, hopefully his form will pick up :tape:

Too bad for Zhenya, he failed to close out the match in the 5th, serving at 4-5*. I think it would be better for Tomas to lose here, at this moment he needs a shock like this. Still, good fight for him and winning in the 5th while not at his best.

Korolev is a real good player, He will move up later on US summar.

Berdych should do something there this year,.....but who knows
