Nando VS Ivo- Indoors Or Outdoors?

Anyone from the UK care to give us some info?

At the minute, according to the Nottingham website, the doubles Final is being played indoors because of heavy rain this morning and I've just heard from my hubby (who's just about to leave Liverpool) that it's raining there right now. So it's not really looking hopeful that the Nando/Ivo Final will be played outdoors on the grass.

The doubles is happening right now. 6/6 3/3 Who's Nando? or is that some nickname...only in the UK. I guess it's better than Fern..or Verd. Or Asco.

Doubles final was played indoors but the singles final should be played outdoors if the rain holds off.

Glad I chose to avoid attending the final as I had done for the preceding 5 years. Looks like it is starting outside, but it wouldn't be a surprise if it has to be completed indoors. Good luck to the spectators, and hopefully neither player will sustain an injury.

Start on grass and end up indoors? That is bizaare. Anything happening? Maybe thet're setting up cameras indoors for the networks/betting sites?

when they hit a ball wide...it's going ot go waaaay wide on one side. This is so pitiful it's actually very funny. Looks like the players are going to sit on plastic storage boxes . turned upside down.

On Ivo's shirt is a badge that says 6'10 LOL Ivo. Believe it or not. His wife Alsi is sitting watching..very pretty, exotic looking, very petite. Has been with him for a long time.

Seriously, I don't understand why they don't build a synthetic grass court in this facility. It's not that expensive (in fact, it's probably cheaper than any other kind of surface) and at least it would keep surface integrity. Joke of a tournament indeed.

Last year in Nottingham and a good thing too - the weather this time of year is just too uncertain.

Not much better on the south coast, but it is slightly better.

Geez some of you lot...what exactly did you expect to happen? The organisers to build a giant canvas roof over the centre court? :rolleyes:

The final got played, which was the main thing...and you were even lucky enough to see it. Surely there is at least one event on the calendar that doesn't have back-up facilities if the weather turns sour?

Sucks for those that were there though!

The same thing happened for the 1997 final when Rusedski won. Thing is all the ATP stats go down as if the match was played on grass...
