's-Hertogenbosch R2 - Gicquel def. Gasquet 7-5 7-6(6)krystlel 06-17-2008, 10:56 AM I would have thought someone would have started a thread straight away! Machiavelli 06-17-2008, 10:59 AM Gicquel 1/2 bp, Gasquet 0/7 Richard had 6/5* 40-15* a couple of second serves, he was up *5-3 in the breaker; once a mental midget, alwas mental midget.... Truc 06-17-2008, 11:00 AM Why was he upset at the end? I only watched the last games. I first thought he was pissed because of his poor performance, but he seemed actually mad at Gicquel, they started argueing after the matchpoint. richie21 06-17-2008, 11:02 AM So much for Gasquet being back on track!:lol: To lose to Gicquel on his best surface is just :haha::haha: 0/7 on Bpts  He is really becoming the laughing stoke of atp tour. Tom Paulman 06-17-2008, 11:03 AM Can't wait for the Wimbledon points to fall off, time for Gasclown to make room in the top 10 for those who really belong there. Iván 06-17-2008, 11:07 AM just like benny , gicquel has a habit of upsetting the bigger players groundstroke 06-17-2008, 11:08 AM I can't wait until Wimbledon starts, then we'll see the real Gasquet. Obviously a large disappointment here, he should have won this match and his mentality wasn't very good, but he fought hard after losing the first set. Not much positive to take out of this - just next time he has 2 fucking set points, TAKE THEM. Puschkin 06-17-2008, 11:09 AM Richie obviously wanted to celebrate his birthday tomorrow and decided s'Hertogenbosch is not the place to do it. :p HeretiC 06-17-2008, 11:09 AM Why was he upset at the end? I only watched the last games. I first thought he was pissed because of his poor performance, but he seemed actually mad at Gicquel, they started argueing after the matchpoint. Why wouldn't he be upset, he was ahead all the time, had zillion of oportunities and still lost in straights. richie21 06-17-2008, 11:09 AM I can't wait until Wimbledon starts, then we'll see the real Gasquet. Obviously a large disappointment here, he should have won this match and his mentality wasn't very good, but he fought hard after losing the first set. Not much positive to take out of this - just next time he has 2 fucking set points, TAKE THEM. He'll crash out after 2 rounds ,you can quote me :o Horatio Caine 06-17-2008, 11:11 AM So much for Gasquet being back on track!:lol: To lose to Gicquel on his best surface is just :haha::haha: 0/7 on Bpts  He is really becoming the laughing stoke of atp tour. Come on man, that is a little bit harsh. ;) Gicquel is one of those players I feel is often "under-rented" (:o)...has a big serve, isn't all that easy to hit through, and is certainly quite dangerous on a faster court. Couldn't comment on this match, but Gasquet looked a lot better last week, so at least he has been on the up in recent weeks. This might just be a bit of a setback, that's all. Tommy fan 06-17-2008, 11:13 AM Oh god :help: Would you get your self togther Richard?? richie21 06-17-2008, 11:16 AM Come on man, that is a little bit harsh. ;) Gicquel is one of those players I feel is often "under-rented" (:o)...has a big serve, isn't all that easy to hit through, and is certainly quite dangerous on a faster court. I saw his matches last week and seriously he didn't look that good. His forehand in particular was terrible :help: IAMlegend 06-17-2008, 11:17 AM If you root for this guy he'll frustrate you to no end. YOu see all this talent and you keep hoping he put it all together. Still you wait... richie21 06-17-2008, 11:18 AM so at least he has been on the up in recent weeks. On the up?? He won only 2 matches and lost to a pathetic Nalbandian on his best surface.....so much for him being on the up.:o I guess we don't have the same standards when it comes to Gasquet Horatio Caine 06-17-2008, 11:21 AM I saw his matches last week and seriously he didn't look that good. His forehand in particular was terrible :help: Okay. :) Well, certainly if I compare him to a set I watched of him playing Seppi in Hamburg, there has been a marked improvement. There, he looked totally lost...last week, he was playing with purpose against Nalbandian. So that is an improvement, in my eyes. But, again, I couldn't comment on today's match. richie21 06-17-2008, 11:24 AM Okay. :) Well, certainly if I compare him to a set I watched of him playing Seppi in Hamburg, there has been a marked improvement. He won only 2 matches and lost to a pathetic Nalbandian on his best surface.....so much for him being on the up.:o I guess we don't have the same standards when it comes to Gasquet Well, if I were his coach, I'd be looking at improving all aspects of his game...strokes, strategy and, above all, confidence (which is the greater issue with Gasquet). If there is a gradual improvement in those areas, the results will come eventually. It looks like maybe you have too high expectations of him! For me, he looked a better player out there last week (compared to Hamburg), even if he might not have gone as far in the draw as some would have expected. Therefore, to me, he is "on the up." :p richie21 06-17-2008, 11:28 AM Well, if I were his coach, I'd be looking at improving all aspects of his game...strokes, strategy and, above all, confidence (which is the greater issue with Gasquet). If you had seen him play in 2005 and in most part of 2006,you would understand why.....:o Sadly since then, his level of play has continually decreased He is now just a pale-shadow of the player he was a few years ago and that's quite astonishing considering you are supposed to improve beetween 18 and 21 and not the contrary. krystlel 06-17-2008, 11:32 AM who cares if you win or lose a match when you have fans like richie21 It's not like it matters whether Gasquet wins or loses, plays well or not, richie21 still wouldn't be pleased. richie21 06-17-2008, 11:36 AM It's not like it matters whether Gasquet wins or loses, plays well or not, richie21 still wouldn't be pleased. I was VERY pleased after some of his wins(and even some of his losses!) in 2005 and especially in 2006 because at least, his game was beautiful and he really went for his shots ;) Now he is just too defensive and to make it worse, his forehand is getting worse and worse! leng jai 06-17-2008, 12:26 PM richie21 don't you get tired of saying the same shit over and over again? Mateya 06-17-2008, 12:45 PM Gasquet reaching new lows :haha: Well, Mark is quite good, but the way he lost the match is just sad. Gasquet will not reach Wimbledon SF this year. :) 3rd round max. no matter what the draw is. case 06-17-2008, 12:55 PM i have to agree with richie21 here. he isnt improving on the contrary he is playing worse than he did and i just dont get it. My only thought is this guy doesnt like tennis. It is just about the only reason a person gets worse at something-you DONT WANT to do that thing. When gasquet gets older he will regret his throwing his talent away. He will also regret the money he also threw away. He has decades of living to do and money sadly doesnt last long. Ah youth is wasted on the young richie21 06-17-2008, 01:19 PM richie21 don't you get tired of saying the same shit over and over again? Well, yeah a little bit i admit. Ah youth is wasted on the young The most amazing thing is that Gasquet's level of play has decreased during a period where normally, any player at any level should improve, even a little bit(beetween 17-18 to 20-21). It's almost like he achieved his peak at 18-19! osalsyst 06-17-2008, 01:28 PM Nice one. Thanks for making my point in your last result thread. Corey Feldman 06-17-2008, 02:30 PM Gasquet's year is karma for beating Murray in Bercy last year IMO RogandyFan 06-17-2008, 02:51 PM Gasquet's year is karma for beating Murray in Bercy last year IMO Come to think of it, that was the last match Gasquet showed any kind of mental toughness. That was the match that determines who get the 8th spot on the race. After that he seems to crack under pressure again and again. Karma is a bitch... dam0dred 06-17-2008, 03:38 PM Oh Dickie, you never fail to let me down. sheeter 06-17-2008, 03:42 PM Sigh. Rogieva 06-17-2008, 03:49 PM SF at Wimbledon to defend :o Schu 06-17-2008, 03:59 PM So much for getting confidence back ... And I thought he actually had a chance to win a title - oh silly me. ASP0315 06-17-2008, 08:12 PM :retard: actually he is gambler. You know gamblers always curse when they lose money. i can understand his frustration.  ~*BGT*~ 06-18-2008, 06:01 AM Am I the only one who thinks this is a tank?
