oh really bud.

Bud needs to retire. It's so painful when he gets to interview the players oncourt after the match. He's so slow and awkward with the questions and you can see the look of impatience on the players' faces having to wait while Bud's senile brain struggles to formulate a coherent inquiry.

Bud Collins is unquestionably one of a kind.

I guess, after 10 posts, I'll be the one to point out that he didn't exactly say that. He said that it's the only tournament not to call the score in English at all. (I'd be surprised if it were true.) He mentioned "They think just French is good enough."

What would tennis be without the insight of Bud Collins! I remember during the Federer Tipsarevic marathon down under, he said something really stupid (in the fifth set when the match was really intense)like Tipsarevic has changed to a black shirt. The last time Federer lost to an opponent, he was wearing black. Could this be a curse?
I mean come on Bud. I think one has to be over 80 or under 10 to find him entertaining. To me, he's plain annoying!

This would be actually even worse, as it would be no longer just a stupid mistake, but also a pretty moronic and arrogant statement.

As the linguist Michel Thomas said, "English is French badly pronounced".

Announcing the score bilingual is unneeded anyway.

Absolute rubbish, it should be like at RG everywhere... Saying the score in two languages is moronic I hate it, it's not hard to learn 10 words in a foreign language.

I mean speaking French at a French tournament. Those crazy frogs!

I think sarcasm is warranted. I doubt the British commentators would feel the need to account for why their viewers are not hearing the score in American, - sorry, English.

It's not as if there's a score on the screen or anything.

To anyone with half a brain Bud obviously was speaking about France and the French Open.If you recall, he was speaking with American announcers. Either listen and learn, watch the tennis, but try not to think.

He wasn't upset or anything, if that helps any. He was just being old and musing about unimportant things like he tends to.

So maybe just moronic. :help:
