:worship: Awesome display from Ferrer, great to watch. But I'm sad to see Santoro lose this way. I sometimes think Ferrer can be a little full of himself, but the way he seemed to appologise to the crowd for beating their guy was lovely.

WTF Ferrer? No need for that brave display of attitude here. After all Santoro should have got more respect in front of his home crowd. Let's see that tennis from Ferrer when it counts the most. I'm not saying he shouldn't have played well i'm just saying this result is useless.

Do you have any stories of where Ferru is full of himself because I have heard normally the opposite. This is the guy who was excited about getting into the top 100 for the pension, once declared himself to be either the worst player in the top 100 or the worst top ten player ever (can't remember which), has said that he doesn't think he can win a grand slam, etc.
I am just curious as to why you have the idea that he is arrogant. (I am not saying your perception is wrong, I have just heard a lot of stories to the contrary about how he has little conficence, etc.)

Too bad that Santoro had to lose so badly in front of his homecrowd, but nice to hear that Pics is showing good form.

Great tennis by Ferrer. Sorry to see Santoro getting crushed like that infront of a home crowd though. But :worship: to David.

He is interesting on court to say the least. He is always berating himself and smashing things. I love his one-way rage-filled monologues that are directed at himself. They can go on for a while. A huge difference from his on-court persona to what reports are in regards to his off-court self.

However sad for Santoro - he just couldn't do anything against an ON FIRE Pics today.

Excellent performance... and to those who think this beatdown on Santoro was 'too harsh' - remember, tennis is a SPORT. Despite liking Santoro very much, I'm even more pleased to see the Fighting Spirit back with David, as I got the impression that was lacking for a bit lately. Well done, Pics! :hatoff: :yeah:

i am not a fan of David Ferrer but he is very far from being full of himself, & definitely not arrogant at all.
Actually, David is rather shy & lacks confidence at times, imo.

The only way Santoro can win matches is driving his opponents crazy with his ugly tennis.
If he had been half as talented as majority here used to think he would have achieved a little bit more than reaching one Grand Slam quarterfinal in his 150 years career.

Well that was sad. But to be expected. Fabrice Santoro at 35 is no longer really able to compete on clay, especially when his opponent is of the standard of David Ferrer. He is still a dangerous player on a hard court, on grass or indoors but not on clay. It's sad but that's the way it is.

I expect a lot better from Fabrice in the grass season.

As for Ferrer, he did what he had to do. He showed no mercy but then I'm sure Fabrice would not have wanted him to.

You love women's 'tennis' so your opinion on entertainers like Santoro is invalid. Put it this way, he provides far more excitement than any WTA clown.

Ugly tennis, hahahaha shush. :wavey:
