Allez Mathieu! Great match, very entertaining.

By the way, Hernandez has the most obnoxious and whiny sounding grunt on the men's tour.

Really pleased for Paulo, it's a big win for him especially given his 5 set record.

Good chance to reach R4 now.

King  good decision to tank, Wimbledon is more important than this rain-infested tournament :worship:

King decided to give the french fans some hope, nice tank to prepare for Wimbledon :yeah:

The King fought hard till the very end.

Paulo didn't get going till set 3, he was awful in those two sets, looked like a challenger player.

Fitness and weaponry in the end proved crucial.

So generous from the King. He likes french public and after Gasquet`s withdrawal, french want to see Mathieu "alive" in RG, so Oscar obviosly decided to show that he is better in first 2 sets almost bagelling Mathieu and tanked than. He has also saved some energy for grass season. His DF in the last point of the match was the most generous thing the king has ever done.

Great win. He really got everything going for him at the last 2 sets.

I am glad I kept watching this game. It's never enjoyable to see PHM lose.

First of all, props to the French fans. Especially the ones that stayed after the atrocious first two sets by PHM. At times, I thought I was watching a football match. The crowd was just so boisterous. It's good to see them behind PHM now that he's the highest ranking frenchman left in the tournament.

Ol' King Oscar...he just kept on fighting. he was obviously tired even by the end of the third set. He was hanging by a thread but still gave PHM a run for the money. He forced PHM to hit clean winners in order to win. Those frequent attempted drop shots were obviously hit out of desperation and fatigue. And the last double fault

PHM showing more heart, fight, and poise than most people give him credit for. It was so agonizing to watch him try to break and to serve out the third set. But he crawled his way back, bit by bit. That's the stuff champions are made of. :yeah:

It was so fun to watch those two duke it out until the bitter end. :worship: Bamos PHM!!!

An excellent match and a great reminder as to why I love clay tennis even in these degenerate times. An excllent fight for PHM, from the top of my head the first time he comes back from 2 sets down and his coach must be pleased with the effort. Paulo adjusted after the 2nd set by cutting angles and hitting with more depth, eventually the difference in court positioning took its toll on Oscar. Too bad the King lost but tennis was the winner here. :yeah:

Mats was looking very happy and PHM didn't choke it all the way this time.
Great match, except the first 2 sets.

He'll be back to his choking ways soon no doubt. Probably in the next round.

The King got a dodgy call against him when he had bp early in the third set.

Alsison Lang took so long to drag her massive, massive fucking arse out of the chair that she probably lost sight of the correct mark.

As if that had anything to do with his loss. Hernandez was quite clearly exhausted by the end of the match.

how far behind the baseline does the king stand? he was nearly in the crowd

Excellent match, never thought of Oscar that he is such a pusher, but unfortunately was too tired in the end, but thats what you expect from a playing style like his is. Credits to Paulo too, good luck against our new star Schwank :)

probably not but this is a forum for men's tennis so I had to seize a rare opportunity to mention alison lang's massive fucking arse. that thing is just immense.

Awesome match!!!!!! Bravo Paulo, you finally held your nerves in check!

Someone should make a little video of Mats' facial expressions throughout the game, it was hilarious to follow that.:D He was more worn out that Mathieu in the end!

Wrong result, but a very watchable match.

Mathieu should never open his eyes when he plays.

Paulo :bigclap:
Only managed to watch the final set but was so glad to see him complete the comeback in style. Maybe the King was in a generous mood after winning the first two sets but Hernandez was clearly faltering physically and mentally at the end - now he gets more time to prepare for Wimbledon and grass court glory...

Mathieu turned the match around in the 3rd set after receiving a code violation for coaching - that got him fired up. It was funny to see Wilander so emotionally involved in the match. I'm one of the people who have faith in Mathieu and believe he could achieve far better results, but I was relieved he saved himself the trouble of serving out the match. That would have been too nerve-racking, especially for Wilander. ;)

I missed this match, so I am very glad to hear from you about alison's massive arse. Otherwise I would never have known about it. I will watch closely for it during the rest of the tournament. Just so I know what I'm looking for, how would you compare it to Serena's?

Henry Chinaski
05-30-2008, 01:28 AM
no problem. i like to think of it as a public service announcement.

if serena's arse is big like, say, carlos moya's serve is big then lang's is more like karlovic on speed.

Mathieu is the only seed left in Djokovic's quarter, he absolutely must win today so that we get to watch the sideshow in the 4th round!
