WTF Pico? Expected winner but unexpected demolition.

Montego

Pico :smash: for that scoreline. Pico without form would lose 3-1 after fight, but this was amateur Pico.

Toad will probably lose to Capdeville now after such a commanding performance.

Great win for Robin, he continues to impress.

Conversely, a very disappointing clay court season for Pico. Sigh...I would love to see an Argie who is consistent.

Kind of expected [based on recent form] but surprising none the less that Soderling is keeping up this turn of form on clay.

It's a good thing Nalbandian was fit for Davis Cup. This Soderling might have beaten us 5-0 on his own.

MUST SEE:

in the last game, when Soderling volleyed some ball back, Pico aimed at him to "finish" the point. On the match point (like two points after that), Soderling started to smile in order to provoke Pico. After Soderling finished the match he went to the net smiling and looking straight at Pico's eye, who was looking to the ground and barely shook his hand.

soderling just played awesome, that guy can go deep in the draw, obviously if he keeps playing the same level of today.

I mentioned my frustration about the inconsistency of the Argie players on the other thread for this match (in large part because I am a fan of a number of them). It honestly seems like Schwank may be the most consistent player right now with his challenger titles in a row and holding himself together against Moya. Is he a late bloomer or just having a good few weeks?

Robin continues to show great form on clay. Very interesting for someone who is such a strong indoor player.

Pico seems to have lost something after hurting his ankle.

i would say schwank is a late bloomer(just a little bit late).

Well done, Robin ! I expect him to go until Karlovic at least, perhaps even until Federer in 4-th round.

I'm very surprised by this scoreline. Söderling now has a good draw to make the fourth round of a Slam for the first time in his career, though I wouldn't be surprised if he loses in the third.

Btw, you could sense there was some needle there today between him and Monaco.

he has a needle with pretty much every Argentine player :tape: actually & to be fair, with pretty much all the ATP, you know it:lol:

I was not expecting Juan to win but was definitely not expecting such scoreline.
Am so disappointed with Pico's clay season, hopefully he will he find his form soon - this season has been nothing but a mess.

 Yes, he had problems with Zabaleta (Monaco's best buddy) and Coria before. But at least he won't throw a hissy fit if someone aims a ball at him. ;)

Wow Soderling killed Pico on this one.
This is exactly why Monaco is never going to win a big claycourt event...very disappointing.

Impressive performance from Soderling, he continues with the form he showed in Dusseldorf last week. Monaco never came close to peak form this year following his ankle injury at Vina.

Toad is good on clay, and played incredibly well and served really big with an average about 128 mph, he really outplayed Monaco.

I was there, Robin was devastating, he was just thumping winners from everywhere. Ive seen Pico play before and he wasnt playing too well, he barely hit any winners at all despite having most of the crowd support.

Pico was looking hot as always :o
