Winners don't use drugs :)
RG R1: Odesnik def. Cañas 7-6, 7-6, 7-6Kuhne 05-26-2008, 01:03 PM Winners don't use drugs :) Voo de Mar 05-26-2008, 01:03 PM 7-6 7-6 7-6 for the 3rd time in Roland Garros history. Previously in this scoreline Martelli beat Ivanisevic in 1998 (3, 6, 2) and Karlovic beat Patience in 2006 (6, 1, 10) Canas has turned round into a useless tie-break player - has lost 7 TB's in a row. osalsyst 05-26-2008, 01:03 PM Wayne played very well. Canas is not what he was. Plain and simple. Twas a real grinder at almost 4 hours of play. :) Two 2007 quarterfinalists out in the first two days. TheBoiledEgg 05-26-2008, 01:04 PM LMAO.......... :haha: Adler 05-26-2008, 01:04 PM Well, so much for the QF points, Willy Such a headcase this Odesnik, wasted tons of MPs, but finally got the job done Viken01 05-26-2008, 01:04 PM triple bagel ! adee-gee 05-26-2008, 01:04 PM Winners don't use drugs :) How original. Why don't you also throw in the pusher comment. Good win Odesnik, well done :hatoff: martine2 05-26-2008, 01:06 PM OMG   Lee 05-26-2008, 01:09 PM Very impressive by Odesnik and next round opponent is HT Lee. A good chance for him to advance another round if he continues to play like today. Action Jackson 05-26-2008, 01:09 PM Odesnik an American that enjoys playing on clay. Far from spectacular, but fights very hard and a good way to impress coach Mantilla. Got to love the time this match took shortest set lasted 62 minutes, the first one was 75 and the third around 80 minutes. Iván 05-26-2008, 01:09 PM No comment. VolandriFan 05-26-2008, 01:09 PM This is just too sad. :( Action Jackson 05-26-2008, 01:10 PM 7-6 7-6 7-6 for the 3rd time in Roland Garros history. Previously in this scoreline Martelli beat Ivanisevic in 1998 (3, 6, 2) and Karlovic beat Patience in 2006 (6, 1, 10) Canas has turned round into a useless tie-break player - has lost 7 TB's in a row. Do you actually watch tennis? Or just care about stats and not watch matches? dsingh7 05-26-2008, 01:10 PM Overall an entertaining match to watch ..some heavy hitting from both..congrats Odesnik stebs 05-26-2008, 01:12 PM Only three hours and 46 minutes this match. Bilbo 05-26-2008, 01:13 PM expected one raven gypsy 05-26-2008, 01:13 PM Wow- an American beating an Argentine on clay  Three tiebreaks... Willy time to join Moya in regrouping a little bit this season. Congats :hatoff: Wayne.. groundstroke 05-26-2008, 01:14 PM Bad luck for Canas. Voo de Mar 05-26-2008, 01:15 PM Do you actually watch tennis? Or just care about stats and not watch matches? Of course I watch tennis... Weird question  MusicMyst 05-26-2008, 01:16 PM :worship: :worship: :worship: Tom Paulman 05-26-2008, 01:16 PM Do you actually watch tennis? Or just care about stats and not watch matches? Sounds like a disrespect post to me, it's always interesting to read Voo's posts. Tabledott 05-26-2008, 01:20 PM Voo posts are great - keep going Action Jackson 05-26-2008, 01:22 PM Sounds like a disrespect post to me, it's always interesting to read Voo's posts. Far from it. The man knows every single stat that there is to know and ones that aren't invented, which is admirable and if there is a stat inquiry, he is the man to ask. Thing is that is 98 percent of the time it's just the stats and not an analysis of a match, in this case, he probably didn't see the match and that's cool. Hence the question. scoobs 05-26-2008, 01:28 PM Willy seems to have lost a few gears he had last year. Jaap 05-26-2008, 01:30 PM Bad luck for Canas. No bad luck, he is just shit. Modetopia 05-26-2008, 01:30 PM ouch...... scoobs 05-26-2008, 01:31 PM I don't think it was a disrespect post, though perhaps worded a little brusquely. Some people are just stats wonks, and only really enjoy the stats analysis of a subject rather than the subject itself. I quite like keeping an eye on F1 stats but watching cars go round a track bores me intensely. Voo de Mar 05-26-2008, 01:33 PM Thing is that is 98 percent of the time it's just the stats and not an analysis of a match, in this case, he probably didn't see the match and that's cool. Hence the question. I didn't see Odesnik-Canas match because I hadn't even chance to see it like probalby most of the members here - match was playing on an unavailable court No. 6. I prefer to put some stats instead of analysis because of two reasons: 1) I'm not so fluent in English to write insightful analysis as I would write in my native language 2) There are plenty of members who write analysis and I haven't got an aspiration to be another one of them, I try to focus on stats and I suppose it's beneficial for this forum BTW, It isn't 98 % but is rather a normal thing that you can't read all my posts on this forum in this entire jungle of various threads :) Machiavelli 05-26-2008, 01:33 PM Wayne the man of the day; congrats mate... Guille is just awful this year, the years are not helping him.... Tom Paulman 05-26-2008, 01:43 PM Thing is that is 98 percent of the time it's just the stats and not an analysis of a match, in this case, he probably didn't see the match and that's cool. Hence the question. I know you are not the type of poster who would insult for no reason ;) smitty8 05-26-2008, 01:49 PM Go Wayne! :yeah: Not sure how much of it they showed, but when I woke up this morning, I turned on the tv to see the last few points of this match on TTC. At least someone thought it was interesting enough to lug a camera out to that court, even for a few minutes. Wojtek 05-26-2008, 01:50 PM no drugs = lost Action Jackson 05-26-2008, 01:53 PM Voo's English is fine, in fact it's much better anyone in here trying to speak Polish as a second language. Their reaction would be like Odesnik's to all the sounds. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18/svein_sveynsson/e33c52ffbe67ce375f36cd847d8e8bf9-ge.jpg octatennis 05-26-2008, 01:53 PM poor cañas lost against odesnik is something too bad...:o Iván 05-26-2008, 01:54 PM lol wojtek, these drug jokes are so tiresome but still funny for some reason. Adler 05-26-2008, 02:02 PM lol wojtek, these drug jokes are so tiresome but still funny for some reason. come on, the man was convicted for taking drugs, now he must deal with it. When do you find time to do anything other than watch tennis and post on this message board? (Deadly serious, as you are definitely over 20 and not working presumably) GlennMirnyi 05-26-2008, 05:47 PM Better than spending your whole free time defending Safin in a tennis board. Joker. Blue Heart24 05-26-2008, 05:49 PM :haha: :haha: Nice one Willy :bigwave: Fee 05-26-2008, 05:55 PM Wayner for the DC team!!!! SheepleBuster 05-26-2008, 06:17 PM It's funny that Canas is famous as the guy who beat Federer twice and not a guy that can actually play tennis. Seriously. This guy has lost to Querrey, Odesnik, and bunch of nobodies in the past few months. How can you even take this guy seriously now? He even lost to Federer on clay and it's 3-3 vs. Federer now. I think he got his 15 minutes of fame but time to join Guga my friend. jole 05-26-2008, 06:18 PM Great job Wayne! dylan24 05-26-2008, 06:36 PM canas without drugs is garbage. canas on drugs top 10 player canas off drugs at best top 200 player. if that. suck it canas. just go away forever martine2 05-26-2008, 06:41 PM canas without drugs is garbage. canas on drugs top 10 player canas off drugs at best top 200 player. if that. suck it canas. just go away forever ok ok, we already KNOW now you lost quite a lot of bets because of him :p ChinoRios4Ever 05-26-2008, 06:57 PM Odesnik can play on clay  Willy :help:  :silly:  @Sweet Cleopatra 05-26-2008, 07:10 PM i feel sorry for him , when will nadal play please Black Adam 05-26-2008, 07:23 PM Patrick McEnroe is now faced with the tough task of deciding who will face Spain in September. All of a sudden he has got at least 4 players who have proved to be reliable claycourters during this clay season (Roddick, Blake, Querrey and Odesnik). Tie in September won't be an easy affair, it's 50-50 I would say :) ;) SheepleBuster 05-26-2008, 07:27 PM I really feel bad for Patrick though. His team is probably going to lose the first 2 matches against Nadal and Ferrer, and we all know that Blake chokes in live matches, so maybe it's better to go with Odesnik. Obviously Querrey couldn't even mount a small challenge to Federer so I wonder how many games he would win against Nadal if he were to face him. I'd say probably 5 or 6 maybe. ReturnWinner 05-26-2008, 07:49 PM not even winning a set and i am sure he had set points in at least a set :tape: but Odesnik deserves credit and btw Cañas said if things keep going this bad he is going to think about retirement. scarecrows 05-26-2008, 08:01 PM Wayner for the DC team!!!! suddenly USA team that will play the DC semis is overcrowded njnetswill 05-26-2008, 08:04 PM An American I can cheer for. :worship: :D I'm not exactly big on Blake, Roddick, or Querrey. :o Fee 05-26-2008, 08:08 PM suddenly USA team that will play the DC semis is overcrowded It would look that way, but I'm sure PMac will go with Roddick and Blake, but Wayne will be on the practice sqaud for sure (good for him, he could use the money). :) He's using a Babolat now, so my signed POG has just doubled in value! (could be up to $5 now). Burrow 05-26-2008, 08:11 PM Better than spending your whole free time defending Safin in a tennis board. Joker. And umm, whole free time? That is why I spent over 10 hours, outdoors today. Cool. Black Adam 05-26-2008, 08:19 PM I am with Burrows on this one. He isn't getting any younger, and his style of play will catch up to him. Not to mention he has been playing non stop since September 2006. Kuhne 05-26-2008, 10:37 PM Nothing to be sad about, Guillermo should just go home, put on his comfort slipers and make himself another "Winstrol high performance 1000x not for human use" milkshake and go to bed. leng jai 05-26-2008, 11:20 PM Same goes to you buddy, you wouldn't say half of the stuff you say on the net off of it. Merton 05-27-2008, 12:11 AM Very interesting match, too bad it didn't go 5 sets. Odesnik likes clay and Canas is in crap form, so no surprise. tangerine_dream 05-27-2008, 03:11 AM Very impressive win for Odesnik, it could not have been easy to hold his nerve and close out a match against someone like Cañas, who can be intimidating on the clay, slump or no slump. :hatoff: Thing is that is 98 percent of the time it's just the stats and not an analysis of a match, in this case, he probably didn't see the match and that's cool. Langers 05-27-2008, 05:47 AM Canas has got very little left to give. martine2 05-27-2008, 06:05 AM Its just so sad isnt it ;) Cut the sarcasm ok, Michael  Turquoise 05-27-2008, 07:14 AM Odesnik really surprised me. He basically played out of his mind, and managed to sustain aggressive play for most of the match. He also used his lefty serve on ad points to great effect, saving multiple break points in 3rd set. Canas didn't play badly, but was predictably defensive, staying well behind the baseline, and sometimes gifted Odesnik short balls which the latter smartly dealt with. It was as tight as any match could get, but in the end, the better player won. oh la la. 05-27-2008, 07:30 AM pretty good match, i enjoyed it. tnosugar 05-27-2008, 09:09 AM this opens the road for Djokovic to the semis...
