RickDaStick 05-24-2008, 12:16 AM Is Marat going to win Rd1? Safin will triple bagel Lisnard. perhaps 4,4 and 4 GlennMirnyi 05-24-2008, 12:17 AM If Safin doesn't lose in R1 it will be a surprise already,. Black Raven 05-24-2008, 12:18 AM No. Kolya will destroy him :wavey: Albop 05-24-2008, 12:20 AM Can lisnard beat donkey is second round ? Manon 05-24-2008, 12:23 AM Hope not. michellej 05-24-2008, 12:26 AM Can Marat beat Davydenko? Of course? Will Marat beat Davydenko? Maybe yes, maybe no..... Roland9 05-24-2008, 12:42 AM Is Marat going to win Rd1? Better question, really. Anyway, I don't see Safin keeping his game (head) up to take 3 sets from Davydenko. Kolya 05-24-2008, 01:16 AM He can. dam0dred 05-24-2008, 01:32 AM Marat CAN beat anyone at anytime. But we all know that he probably won't. tennisfan444 05-24-2008, 01:36 AM Can Marat beat Davydenko? Of course? Will Marat beat Davydenko? Maybe yes, maybe no..... Well said, I agree Merton 05-24-2008, 03:07 AM Davydenko should win comfortably against Tojo but I am not sure if Marat will go past Lisnard. gulzhan 05-24-2008, 03:16 AM Stop jinxing! Marat got lucky with the first match so.... Hope he will play aginst Kolya in 2nd round :ras: luxsword 05-24-2008, 08:16 AM Can Marat beat Davydenko? Of course? Will Marat beat Davydenko? Maybe yes, maybe no..... Precisely. :worship: Btw, nice to see GM believes Marat will pass R1. :rocker: zeleni 05-24-2008, 08:35 AM No. Davydenko will win. Acer 05-24-2008, 08:42 AM In short, no. PiggyGotRoasted 05-24-2008, 09:26 AM Can davydenko beat wawrinka in the sf? Bilbo 05-24-2008, 09:30 AM Donkey is playing his best where the big money is. This means Safin has no chance. Renaud 05-24-2008, 09:31 AM Super JR will beat them both Mateya 05-24-2008, 09:32 AM Nikolay DOES NOT lose early (or tank) in grand slams. :worship: I think you got the answer. Julio 05-24-2008, 09:36 AM Jean-René will kill him before this. ImmzB 05-24-2008, 10:12 AM Ofcouse Safin can beat Davydenko Safin can beat any-1 on his day!! Jimnik 05-24-2008, 10:18 AM No. And btw, Davydenko is a better clay player than Safin ever was so this isn't just a question of current form. groundstroke 05-24-2008, 10:59 AM That would mean he would have to win 2 matches in a row and Safin can't do that. Burrow 05-24-2008, 11:06 AM Davydenko is playing in an era with only just a couple of real clay court players contending, Safin at his finest played in an era full of clay courters, you can't compare results and even if you did their wouldn't be much in it. And yes, Safin can win the match, definately possible. Burrow 05-24-2008, 11:06 AM That would mean he would have to win 2 matches in a row and Safin can't do that. Half of your post count comes from saying just that... And he won 4 matches in a row at Hamburg last week... ~EMiLiTA~ 05-24-2008, 11:10 AM The first question should be "can Marat beat the qualie in round 1?". foul_dwimmerlaik 05-24-2008, 11:38 AM Sorry to rain on everyone's parade, but Marat is not in rd. 2 yet. He might not get there at all. Blue Heart24 05-24-2008, 12:08 PM So Ivan Choker can beat him in R3? No way. Donkey for the SF's. Jaap 05-24-2008, 12:31 PM Does this tournament have high prize money? Is the currency the Euro? If the answer to the two questions are yes, then Donkey won't be losing this. Bilbo 05-24-2008, 12:41 PM Does this tournament have high prize money? Is the currency the Euro? If the answer to the two questions are yes, then Donkey won't be losing this. the answer to both questions is 'yes' arm 05-24-2008, 12:44 PM :haha: is this even a real question? adachi 05-24-2008, 12:53 PM I hope so ! Jimnik 05-24-2008, 01:02 PM Davydenko is playing in an era with only just a couple of real clay court players contending, Safin at his finest played in an era full of clay courters, you can't compare results and even if you did their wouldn't be much in it. And yes, Safin can win the match, definately possible. So you're saying that the 2002 generation of clay players are better than the current generation? Interesting theory. Even if you're right it doesn't excuse Safin from winning only two titles on clay compared with five from Davydenko. Not to mention Safin has only twice made it past the last 16 at RG compared to three times by Davydenko. You can even make a direct comparison with a couple of players they played at RG: Robredo and Nalbandian. Safin lost to both of them, Davydenko beat both of them. Davydenko at his peak on clay > Safin at his peak on clay rocketassist 05-24-2008, 04:45 PM Safin has no chance. Like he can run and move for five sets now to beat a machine like the PMK. Tennis Fool 05-24-2008, 07:38 PM I hear Davydenko is carrying an injury into RG... stebs 05-24-2008, 07:42 PM Marat CAN beat anyone at anytime. But we all know that he probably won't. Ofcouse Safin can beat Davydenko Safin can beat any-1 on his day!! So when was the last time Safin beat someone of the caliber of Davydenko in a slam? Not for several years. Safin HAD the ability to win these kind of matches (though even in his prime I don't think he would be favourite) but these days it would take a frighteninly poor performance from Davydenko for it to occur. Of course, it IS possible, but as unlikely as anyone outside the top 32 upsetting one of the best claycourters in the world. Ivanatis 05-24-2008, 08:08 PM No way. rocketassist 05-24-2008, 08:17 PM Ofcouse Safin can beat Davydenko Safin can beat any-1 on his day!! Not anymore he can't. :wavey: Burrow 05-24-2008, 08:22 PM So when was the last time Safin beat someone of the caliber of Davydenko in a slam? Not for several years. Marat would probably still be ranked higher than Davydenko if it wasn't for him playing injured in 2005 and messing up his knee big style. People seem to ignore this and think he slipped down the rankings for nothing. He couldn't play Madrid Masters, Paris Masters and the Australian open in late 2005 and 2006. * lawl dsingh7 05-24-2008, 08:46 PM Davy is ball machine ..i don't see him loosing to virtually retired Safin Emmaloo 05-24-2008, 08:52 PM As much as I like Marat the facts speak for themselves. The two times they have played on clay Marat has gone down. michellej 05-24-2008, 09:29 PM I hope that Safin's success at Hambutg carries through to RG ..he played 5 matches and lost the 5th, better than he's done for a long time. Maybe he should play a challenger just before RG and get warmed up. LOL stebs 05-24-2008, 10:48 PM Yes, and why hasn't he anymore? Can anybody say...injury? So what? Doesn't make it any less true. What makes you think I ignored that fact? It wasn't relevant to the point I was making. You think it's ridiculous tht Davydenko at his best on clay should be considered equal with Safin? His GS results are better are they not? leng jai 05-24-2008, 10:51 PM Burro having another cry  drf716 05-25-2008, 10:51 AM Is Marat going to win Rd1? oh well at least i can face reality earlier...but NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! hehe. elessar 05-25-2008, 10:57 AM For sure :worship: he's training with Roger right now, if that doesn't get him the W I don't what will :inlove: | |
