Geez that is a good list! Stepanek and Verdasco...who'd have thought?

Looks like this could finally be the year that the old guys bite the dust...Mirnyi would probably need a WC to get in (possibly the same with Clement), and I can't really see Johansson and Bjorkman cutting it with this lot. The depth is fantastic!

Karlovic has a good chance to defend in what is the last Nottingham tournament.

What a great list for the last Nottingham Open:) I'm really pleased that Tursunov is coming back, and am excited about Tsonga and Cilic. No Gasquet for last edition-that really surprises me. Pleased that Verdasco has entered too. All in all a very exciting line-up. I'm sad that Gulbis isn't coming to Nottingham though:( I think Karlovic will win it again though.

Richard, come back to Nottingham, what happened to 'federer of nottingham'? :(
;)

Oh well, it's still a really good line up for the last Nottingham tournament. :)

Is Sirianni in the Quallies?

He wouldnt be because Wimbledon qualies start the week of the tournament, no point in trying to qualify if you cant play in it. He is the fourth alternate on Newport entry list so he should get direct entry into Newport.

Surprised that Koubek has yet to withdraw, given that he has withdrawn from Wimbledon...an oversight on the part of his team? Grosjean isn't looking good either.

This is getting worrying. Those of us who like the loyalty of the French players in Nottingham, may be very disappointed indeed by Monday, its getting depleted. Might have to rely on a French guy coming through qualies. The French have such a love affair with Nottingham, its a pity its gonna come to an end:sad:

Koubek well he's a bit of a space cadet isn't he. I read once that he went through a period where he left his racquets anywhere but where they should be (ie with him)

Nottingham is usually very faithful to the Brits and almost always gives all the WC to them, its fair enough, its rare they give out WCs to other nationalities, unless a very notable name asks for one, which hasn't happened much.

The rumour is that Jamie Baker will get a WC here if he wants one, so that should be 1 WC taken - the other 2 could go to anyone, but given that Bogdanovic is the only Brit not playing at Roehampton in the qualifying he could well get one, even though I think he should have to go through qualifying and get some confidence (and Baker should as well to get some matches under his belt), but if they have to qualify then we have no obvious WC's to give out.

Maybe Clement might get one as the finalist last year, but Nottingham's WC's got to Brits so maybe not...

I'm sure Tipsarevic will get a wildcard. I saw an interview with him yesterday before the Djokovic match and he mentioned being excited about this week, next week and Wimbledon because he likes the grass court season, so he seems to think he'll be playing next week.

Ward has a wildcard into Wimbledon qualifying, so he definitely won't be in Nottingham next week
... but here's the Ward & Slabinsky announcement (http://www.lta.org.uk/News/All-news-items/Ward-and-Slabinsky-to-play-The-Slazenger-Open/)

Also:
Glasgow's Jamie Baker has been awarded a wildcard into the main draw of next week's Slazenger Open in Nottingham.

Puzzle: Ward & Slabinsky both have wildcards into both Nottingham and Wimbledon qualifying - how is that going to work? Here's what Ward said about the scheduling conflict in his post-match interview at Queen's (http://www.asapsports.com/show_interview.php?id=50101):
Q. Would you ask for a wildcard for Nottingham?
JAMES WARD: Well, it depends because if you play Nottingham, it's the same week as Wimbledon qualifying. So if I played Wimbledon qualifying, I couldn't play it. If I played main draw Wimbledon, then I would play Nottingham as well.

He's top seed in qualifying draw:) Shame, he's not in MD but I didn't expect him to be.
