Here you go.. this is what they call Holland:

First 3 are @ the south of Holland, where there are some hills and stuff (kinda where I live ;))

4th and 5th are taken in the west @ the coast (that is where I used to live)

Last one is just the general picture you would get in every part of Holland when you aren't in some city :p

Nice thread and good idea... :)

Okay, I will show you the Southern part of Bavaria where I come from, the Alp region and some pics of Innsbruck, Austria where I go to university.

pic with #...
1) Bavarian cows ;) "moooooooo"
2) Neuschwanstein castle near the borderline to Austria, very popular and umpteenth of thousand people come here every year, also very many Japanese people come here to visit this castle. Great tourist must-see.
3) a river in the Alps
4) common landscape of the foothill of the Alps (about 40km south of Munich)
5) a bit underexposed this pic, but it shows the Starnberg Lake near Munich with boats, my house is only about 300m away from its bank so you I don't have far in summer when I want to go swimming :)
6) This is a pic made from a ..... (don't know the English word) near Innsbruck and Kitzbühel (where also a tennis tournament takes place ;) )
7) Innsbruck city, whole Innsbruck is surrounded by mountains, you feel really small when you live in that city, always with the big mountains in the background
8) Another view on Innsbruck

(damn, just saw that the order of the attached files appears differently than I selected it. Go with the mouse over the file and you will see the filename of the attachment)

exactly, Bilbo :worship: ... show them all our German capital :yeah:

I don't there exist any objective measured values to express the changing and diversification (at least I don't know... if you know, let me know, as a statistic student I'm interested in that) of a city, but without seeing all cities, in my opinion Berlin is the city that changed THE MOST OF ALL CITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD during the last 15 years.

It's just awesome if you came in the early 90s to Berlin, and then two years later, and then another two years later, and again... you're always thinking again and again, scratching your head  "where the hell do all these new buildings come from in that short time?"
one word: AWESOME

Don't have pix from the city I'm living now but these are from my previous one, Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

1. Calgary Tower in the middle where I took the other pix here.
2. The old building with the clock tower is the old City Hall and the modern building behind it is the new City Hall. The plaza in front of the old city hall is the Olympic Plaza. During 1988 Winter Olympic, medals were presented here at the end of the day for all winners for that day.
3. Calgary Stampede and Exhibition ground where one of the largest outdoor show and Rodeo in North America is held every July.
4. Downtown and to the north of the city.

Pictures of Toronto:

1. Toronto City Hall. With the popular square and fountain which people skate on in winter.
2. An example of the strong diversity we're famous for. Every ethnic group is found in Toronto and each have their own communities. Lots of festivals and foods! :) This is from one of the many cultural festivals and parades.
3. This is Dundas Street near Yonge Street, at night. This is right in the heart of downtown and it's very exciting with lots of things to do, lots of restaurants and great shopping. Next time, I'll post pictures of the ethnic communties.
4. A view inside the famous Eaton Centre. It's a huge mall in the middle of downtown, which is a rare thing. The most visited place in Toronto due to its location and connections to Toronto's strong subway line. Nice place to shop, eat and meet your friends. They say the tourists outnumber the locals here!
5. This is a view of Front Street. This street is in downtown and has landmark buildings. A lot of films are shot here as anywhere else in Toronto. Lots of movies are filmed in Toronto.
6. A picture of the famous long boardwalk at the beaches. Toronto has many beaches right at the lake, and they line the whole city's shore. Everyone goes here to relax, bike, swim, rollerblade or jog.
7. This is a view of the Toronto skyline at night. You can see the world-famous CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the world. Restaurants at the top and great city views. The Skydome is lit up because of a baseball game. The Air Canada Centre is beside. That's where our basketball team plays.
8. This is a picture from the Molson Amphitheatre. It's a nice outdoor venue for concerts, and it's located right at the lake. All the famous bands and artists love coming to Toronto to play, and the city is filled with theatres and galleries downtown. It's a very arts city.
9. This is High Park. London has Hyde Park. At High Park, you could see the British/London influences here. A result of Toronto being planned out with British styles in the past.
10. This is the view of downtown Toronto and the harbour during the day. In the spring and summer, there are many sailboats and ferries that are out for the day, and the ferries travel from the harbourfront to the Toronto islands just across from the skyline. I'll post a picture next time of the islands.

Toronto can't be described in 10 or less pictures. It's a special city. Just like the whole Canada, it's a mix of British influences, some American touch and all ethnicities, but it's always Canadian. It's one of the world's biggest cities, but it feels like a town. It's not intimidating like a New York. People feel at home when they come here, it's hard to explain! And there's always something to do, see, eat or buy! In the suburbs or downtown. It's a naturally great place and because of this, Toronto was the runner-up in hosting the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. ;)

It's not permanent, but the square becomes a market on the weekends, and I think there are certain weekends where it is a major event, with lots of farmers coming in to sell produce. :)

yeah, Venezuala looks really nice, especially the beaches, the water and these islands

:yeah:

Our beaches are very good and lukewarm. The islands that I posted are the “Cayos de Morrocoy” and the archipelago “Los Roques”.

LOL The picture of the kangaroo i posted, is from an animal welfare site. We recently had a mass culling of kangaroos near a lake south of sydney. The local authorities claimed that the kangaroos would strip the land of vegetation, and encourage erosion  That's fine, but havent they heard of that saying "prevention is better than cure"? government :(

yeah, that's really bad if it's getting that far finally that you have to kill those animals in a huge slaughter. It reminds me somehow of Canada and its overpopulated seals that are a danger for the fish stocks. And in some kind when are just allowing hunting season on certain animals, it exists in every country.
