Pashanski hurt his thigh leading first set 5-4 and should have retired already then. He probably would have not been capable of playing in Sunday anyway. He decided to entertain crowd and make fun of Montcourt. He said several times: "you are so bad, I win you with one leg".

Without injury Pashanski would have won semi and very likely final as well, Cipolla's pushing would have not worked here (and probably will not work against Montcourt either). Pashanski was the best player in Tampere but also a total headcase.

I still don't completely get it though. If he was able to beat Montcourt despite of his injury and there was obviously no risk to make it worse when he kept playing, why couldn't he give it a try against Cipolla too who doesn't seem to be better than Montcourt?

He will likely be fined for Friday's match but not necessarily for semifinal...the court were too slippery and that is the reason for his injury. And he didn't tank...

Montcourt were close of getting defaulted as he throw the racquet and it hit a ballboy lightly. The chair umpire didn't see this and that was good for Montcourt.

Refused to continue and only continued after supervisor came to calm him down. Reason was quite good tho, ref had points calculated wrong. So when game was actually 5-3 and 40-30, ref gave set for his opponent. After that Pashanski went ballistic and ref gave him another warning and because of that he lost the set. Well after that it all went down... still good coming back. Sad that his mentality is so negative.

I think chair umpire gave a bit of star treatment for Pashanski, he was anyway so close of exploding that it was better getting match just played...and still in Friday's match Pashanski was slightly badly treated by umpire who counted the points wrong and gave the first set to Berlocq.

Last week in Poznan Pashanski was very calm all week, well until Saturday of course, when he lost temper :rolleyes: Too bad he can't just focus on the match even when he is sure he is being cheated by the umpire... He's been playing really well and could easily win a couple of tournaments...
