just saw it, he lost to Odesnik:o

but at least he's finally playing again, hope you're right and he will show up here

Nishikori, Reynolds or Miranda should win this tourney, Kendrick should have chances as well if he gets used to the surface

Jesse:rolleyes:

this is exactly that time of the year where he has almost nothing to defend and could improve considerably maybe even into top100, before his strong fall '07 will be taken into account and it already would be a success if he gets nearly the same amount of points from last year

if he's not injured, he's missing a huge opportunity here :(

Bobby lost his 60 points from last year's Naples Challenger, and could use the points here.

Do you know Bobby relatively well TBarm? I had seen him play a few years ago, and may have misread him. I kind of thought he was a spoiled brat from Cape Cod, but after seeing him play in both Tallahassee and Baton Rouge I must say that I was really impressed with his mental strength. I didn't see him throw one temper tantrum either (winning might have helped that), and he seemed really focused and determined on the court. This could be his breakout year...

Im good friends with a few guys on the challenger circuit(delic, kendrick, ram, reynolds, sarstrand, rehnquist, evans). i help run the dallas challenger and have been in touch with these guys for the last 5-6 years.

That's terrific TBarm. Hopefully your event is well attended also. For people that have never been, you can't beat getting to watch top 150 talent right next to you for such a cheap price. The only thing I hate is when some of the guys give it to the ball kids (Evans comes to mind on that) or complain that the court doesn't suit their game, as there is a lot of work behind the scenes in terms of man hours and finance securing to make these things happen.

I always tell the guys I hope NOT to see them next year (i.e. they're on the main tour), and many have obliged :D

yeah, our tourney is one of the few on the us circuit that makes money each year. we have been voted by the usta as the best us challenger so i hope we can continue it in 09. we got our tentative date for next year. usta moved it back one week, thank goodness to jan 31-feb 7. we like having our tourney over super bowl weekend.

Good to see Chino winning.

I don't like Don struggling, I thought he'd win this event easily with Chino the only person who could scare him

Even if it's green clay, I don't think Young and Miranda are the favourites here. Odesnik is more dangerous, I think.

It's indoor green clay, indoor makes even more of a difference than green. I can see a hardcourt specialist like Bobby Reynolds win here.

I just called and they said Boggie was still on the court vs. Smyczek. She had no idea on Reynolds. Still cant understand why Challengers wont do live scoring. So inexpensive and easy.

...if BOGOMOLOV was still on the court, REYNOLDS could not even start...

Why no way to finish? They play in USA, it's different time zone than in Europe ;).

just talked to kendrick, he lost 7-5, 7-6. said widom always plays him tight and that todd played the big points better than he did. robert said he didn't play that poorly and wasn't that upset with the loss(which is rare to hear from robert).

Great result for the 20 year-old Belgian, who had some good results in futures in the last year but never reached the QF in a challenger before. Maybe potentially another ATP player for Belgium in the future.
