'Bout time someone started this thread.

Grosjean is serving for the first set against Ginepri, at 5-2.

And he gets it. Well done Seb, keep going :)

Seb! :bounce:

jtipson
06-28-2004, 12:07 PM
Having to put up with Chris Bradnam for our commentary. Heck he is *dire*. He is of the opinion that Ginepri is a multi-talented player, and that he shouldn't be worried about losing the first set. Personally I think the only reason he's here is that Ferrero sucked big time in the third round, and Grosjean should take him out in three.

Deboogle!.
06-28-2004, 12:09 PM
 poor you!!! I mean they like Robby here because the commentators actually know him well on a personal level but they admit Seb is the huge huge favorite lol

Robby's ok. He's just boring. He's fast, but Grosjean can match him step for step. I'm sure Seb has a better serve, and their returns might be about equal (haven't seen Seb play enough to say for sure). Seb has the experience and Robby is still a mental midget at times. Seb should have no problem at all taking him out. Robby played well against Ferrero, I'd never seen him serve better, but someone like him at his point in his career isn't yet really able to keep up that kind of level over several matches IMO

jtipson
06-28-2004, 12:18 PM
It's true he was pretty solid against Ferrero (was watching the match from up in the gods), but I've never seen JC play worse than that, was really disappointing from him.

Seb does have quite a big serve for a small guy - 131 mph that just was! And he's only 5ft 9in.

Deboogle!.
06-28-2004, 12:20 PM
yea.... Juan Carlos

Robby's serve is one of his weaknesses. He has this nice tendency to throw in double faults at critical times, too. I've seen him play a couple times (in person I mean), and both times he had leads in a set and should've won the set but blew it by double faulting and choking a little. Maybe on a slower surface like at the AO Robby had a better chance and could take it to 4 but I can't see Seb having much trouble on grass. Yay!

Chris is imagining Robby winning a slam and the hearts of many teenage girls.
Chris believes Robby is off form, so Seb should hurry up and win before he finds his touch again.

Keep the twaddle to yourself, Mr B.

Deboogle!.
06-28-2004, 12:26 PM
 I'm not a teenage girl but I feel confident to say that it would take more than winning a slam to win my heart :haha: (such as... a shave, a haircut, a new outfit, a personality)... he's really disgusting in person. like just not attractive at all. Ew. I shudder thinking about it :scared:

jtipson
06-28-2004, 12:29 PM
Well, I haven't seen him up close, but wouldn't say he's the most attractive either ;).
The bits of beard and sleeveless shirts don't work very well for me!

Anyway he's being comprehensively beaten here - I'm glad to see Seb on such great form :)

Deboogle!.
06-28-2004, 12:32 PM
yeah! Seb! :woohoo: 9 aces  that's pretty impressive for him isn't it? And Robby does have a decent return. You're getting the match live I take it? We're getting the pretty girls :p
