I think he probably entered the tournament months ago, and will pull out. But the organisers will want to keep his name on the list for as long as they can. I'll be astonished if he actually plays.

Sopot and Athens are in the same week so I wonder how big the chance is that Marat Safin and Carlos Moya will play there.

NO :o They close entry list today. Sopot it's IDEA PROKOM OPEN. Prokom owner is someone like Bill Gates in Poland so they will pay a lot of money. :angel:

Still though... Andre playing on clay in Europe just a couple weeks before the US Open????? Wait a second. Andre is scheduled to play in Washington DC too. That's the week of the Olympics the tennis part. I cannot see Andre playing in clay in Poland and then the following week play on hardcourt in the US. Makes no sense :scratch:

I can understand why tournament organizors will put all these names up cause a lot of people will choose to sit in front of the tv all day and watch the Olympic Games instead of going out. But it sucks to find out at the last moment that you're fave(s) won't play the tournament you plan to attend.

Also will play :Horna, Nadal ( he is on the list but he has still injury), Ferrer, A.Martin, Davydenko, Andreev.

Those players who play in Athens might have to tank to get there in time...

oh come on... :rolleyes: Safin has already said that he WILL play Sopot and it's 100% sure (unless he has an injury or sth). Even if he's going to play the Olympics, he still can play in Sopot. It's his choice. And we all know that Marat doesn't really care about the Olympics, so.. why is that so weird for everybody that he decided to play Sopot? His sister was always saying that he wants to come to Poland and play here, because that's where Dinara has won her 1st title:)
