Berdych played well - congrats to him. Dima just looked tired - three long matches (all going the distance), against Korolev, Gasquet and Lopez, probably caught up with him. Good tournament for him anyway, and no disgrace to lose to a player of Berdych's class.

Good luck to Berdych in the rest of the tournament.

Good match from Berdych, Tursunov wasn't great though. But still good result for Berdych

Oh well, it was still a respectable run by Dmitry. Congrats to Berdych.

Normally I don't root for Berdych but I'm hopeful he can continue so he can beat Nadal if they both make the semis. He owns Nadal on hard courts.

Sad for Dmitry but he had 3 solid wins this week so I'm more than satisfied.

he is 3-0 against Nadal on hard courts -one indoor- but none of those matches were easy, and miami surface suits Nadal pretty well.

Great job, Tomas! His next match will be interesting no matter it is Nadal or PHM.
Good luck for the rest of the tournament! :)

Berdych looks like the man to beat here in Miami - if he manages to keep up this level of playing, which he rarely ever does during an entire tournament.

I hope he'll do well, though - he's been on quite a draught regarding victories the past few months.

Actually, it's now purple clay :) The colour changes faster than Andy Murray's tournament results

It's purple to distinguish it from the blue clay of IW.

Expected win for Tomas. And now against Andreev - he has a really good chance to make the semi and could take out Nadal in the semis too. Come on Tomas!

I was a bit surprised by the score: I was expecting much more of a fight from the Russian. He had a lot of opportunities he let away. Berdych is not the strongest player mentally (he just let matches slip away regularly) and Tursunov has been playing with him in doubles and played him (and won) in Bombay. Not much fight from Tursunov in the end as if he'd decided not to fight and that's a bit disappointing but not surprising.

I don't see Berdych going through to the final. Andreev played great hard court tennis yesterday against Canas, his forehand was quite the one. An upset of Berdych is actually a possibility!!
