thanks, I hope you/they are right... I was almost shocked as I saw the title of this thread because I thought its content brings bad news, but I'm glad that you have mainly good news and I hope there will be (almost) no rain that we can see some tennis on Saturday :)

Good stuff Im liking that :) But it still appears to be raining at the moment at Wimbledon. The tents are all up on the courts and the clouds look quite threatening.

I hope and guess you are to believe since you live close to there but the website says "A wet afternoon and evening" and "heavy rain" for today :(

The sunny prediction is for tomorrow, not today...

It's strange - the TV is being very pessimistic and talking about little or no play at all today and a very strong possibility of a "Peoples' Sunday" tomorrow. They also say the forecast for next week is poor.Yet I live close by and it's cloudy but dry here - even a brief glimpse of sunshine just like Denim said - the rain must be really localised.

The crowds dont have their umbrellas up which has to be a good thing I suppose.

Announcement over the tannoy - the covers are about to be deflated and if there is no more wet weather, there will be an inspection of the courts.

ESPN just gave a live update before showing Venus again, they said it was raining lightly again and they had to recover the courts and that the outlook wasn't really promising

It sort of looks like a rain out again.

Wimbledon has to refund people if there is less than 1 hour's play each day. But, there is rarely a total rainout. There has already been one day where play was entirely cancled, so if this one is canceled too, it could cut into the profit margin considerably.

But they're up again now though :umbrella: It's also raining quite heavily where I am now, and as I'm west of Wimbledon and bad weather usuually comes from the west here - well - don't hold out too much hope.

"It's Raining Again",
Oh, it's raining again
Oh no, the tennis has to end
Oh no, it's raining again

Yes "Peoples' Sunday" has just been confirmed - play will start at 11.00am. Weather forecast is better for tomorrow but pretty bad for the rest of next week. Must say the Wimbledon organisers looked really mad at the prospect of play tomorrow - not "traditional" enough for them

Yea as of the forecast right now, there's a better than 50% chance of rain EVERY DAY from Wednesday-Sunday.....

It was so frustrating this afternoon. Had tickets for number one, bought some resales for Centre, and then sat and watched them take the tent down / cover off a couple of times, only for it to rain again.

The worst thing was that there was a long break in the weather from about half past five, but they were so slow with setting up! They managed to get the net up (first time today), the chairs out, the ballboys on and then the linespeople; the door was open for the players to come out! It was nearly half past six by this time. Then: pitter patter. Everything off, covers on, play abandoned.

Grrr. If they had been faster, at least the players would have been out on court for 10 minutes to have a knock up. Most spectators didn't see a tennis player the whole day.

Wow that's worse than the USTA!

and siobhan I'm sorry you had a bad day. I was being sarcastic with my "yay:p" I didn't want a total washout :( hope you guys dried up nicely!
