Not unlike the other Bogo called Alex. It does get confusing.

Actually Bogdanovic hasn't retired this year, but one gets the impression that it can at any moment with the troubles he's had.

last year i wish Bogdano had retired from more matches as he was carrying so many problems there was no way he could win at times. But he does tend to try and tough it out when injured for some reason.

I just got back from the tourney. Saw A LOT of matches today, and have a huge sunburn to show for it.

Kim beat Van Der Merwe in a 3rd set tie break, after the South African was serving up 6-5 40-15 in the 3rd set. Van Der Merwe hit four unforced errors up 40-15 with two match points, and Kim played a very solid tiebreak in his usual grinding style. Van Der Merwe had several French guys rooting him on, and is a pretty tall and lanky guy.

Scoville told the ref to "eat shit", said the tour was out to get him, called a lineswoman pathetic, and said the entire crew should be fired. I started off rooting for him, but have never seen a bigger asshole in all my years on the main tour or challenger circuit. As for the match, Oswald was up one set to love and 5-2 in the 2nd, and blew it. He had to come through qualifying, and it looked like his legs got really heavy towards the end of the 2nd set. Oswald has a lot of talent, and may be someone to look out for in the future. Scoville's an extremely overrated player (how he gets all those wild cards is beyond me), has a horrible attitude on the court, and thinks everyone is out to get him.

Reynolds beat Ouanna 6-4, 6-4. Ouanna had the stronger strokes, but Reynolds just outsmarted him and kept making him hit unforced errors off of low slices.

Kendrick beat Witten in two tiebreaks. Kendrick's a funny guy on the court too. Kendrick bombed A LOT of aces in that 2nd set tiebreak.

Kuznetsov beat Smyczek in straights.

Alves won, and is the loudest grunter I've heard in awhile. He's so loud you can hear him from the parking lot, lol. He ought to be warned about it really. Imagine if he and Sharapova had a baby lol.

Becker won in straights, and was hitting the ball REALLY, REALLY well. It's his tournament to lose, in my opinion. If I left anything out just ask. Cheers!

My pleasure Brasil. There have been some good guys on here giving me reports in the past, so I'm glad to return the favor. As for the match, they were really grinding out there. A lot of 15 shot rallies and such. Alves showed a lot of heart no doubt. He and Reynolds should have a great match.

As for the grunting, I didn't realize he grunted like that lol. It was really weird, and really loud. He seemed to grunt even longer on the big points, and was even grunting while the Lithuanian was hitting the ball. You don't have to be on the court to know if he won the point or not, as he'll yell happy or mad to let you know lol. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he beat Reynolds tomorrow. Cheers!

I did not see it, but it obviously went by really fast. :D

One of the ladies who was a ball girl told me that Becker just blew him off the court, and broke several times at love. It sounds like it was a combination of Becker playing really well, and Lugassy never having the chance to find his rhythm.

can you please tell me how was Noam Okun in his match against Becker?

My pleasure Algy. Okun is very built, and maybe the physically strongest player I've seen all tournament.

As for the match (I watched all of it), I thought that Noam played well. As a matter of fact, Noam was playing as good of tennis as anyone else outside of Becker. He talked to himself a lot, but I couldn't understand what he was saying because I don't speak Hebrew.

Becker is really playing lights out, but Noam hung right in there with him. They had several good rallies, and there weren't too many unforced errors on either side. Becker got a break early in the first set, and never gave it up after that. In the second set Okun got broken early, but broke back to level it. In his very next service game there was a long deuce, and Noam gave it away again.

I would have given Okun a good chance to make it to the finals had he been on the other side of the draw. Becker really gets a lot of pop on his serve for his fairly small frame. The only negative I would say about Noam is that he looked a little intimidated of Becker the whole time. Noam should be encouraged for later in the season in my opinion. Cheers!

As for the matches...

The Reynolds/Kuznetsov match was REALLY sloppy. Probably the worst quality match I've seen all week. There were A LOT, and I mean A LOT, of unforced errors on both sides, with several breaks of serve. One thing I'll give to Bobby is that he's very smart on the court. He has about the least natural talent of any of them, but he's real good at finding and exploiting opponents' weaknesses. Reynolds picked on the Kuznetsov backhand the entire match, and forced a ton of errors on it. Kuznetsov got broken at love serving 4-5 in the 2nd set, and that was that. His coach is either South African or Australian I believe, and they went to a practice court immediately after the match to start working on serves. His coach was really mad at Alex.

The Kendrick-Becker match was very high quality, and went by very fast. Robert must have hit at least 15 or 20 aces, and had several games where he'd hit three aces and a service winner, etc. Benjamin got broken very early in both sets, and never came close to getting his break back in either set. Kendrick hit some very nice passes even off of Becker's 1st serves, and was going for broke and hitting lines the entire match. This was by far Robert Kendrick's best match of the tournament. I thought Benjamin would win here, but Kendrick has the type of game that can be tough to beat if he's on fire like he was today.

Best wishes to your preferred player tomorrow....

Thanks for the report.

I guess Kendrick must be favourite for tomorrow, although he did lose his last three matches against Reynolds.

By the way, the fast scores are probably thanks to a competent ATP supervisor/staff at the tournament, who immediately updated the drawsheets on atptennis.com after the official results were known.
