According to the Houston website, Tommy is scheduled to play Igor Kunitsyn Tuesday at 6 PM (central time, I think).

http://www.mensclaycourt.com/

and yes, according to the same website (update 5/8/2007), the new location (River Oaks) has red clay:

"One of the oldest tennis clubs in the country, River Oaks Country Club has hosted the prestigious River Oaks International since 1931 on red clay, making it the oldest event in North America still played at its original location on its original surface. The club has a permanent stadium that seats up to 3,400."

I hope Tommy's healthy enough to play. Go Tom!

To be honest, I expect nothing for Monte Carlo and the rest of the clay season. He's not the same player on this surface.

Do you really think so...This would mean another 1st Round defeat and more frustration for Tommy. Maybe you are right and he'll play Munich, Hamburg and the French Open but I don't think he'll play Rom.

He has family in Munich, so he has a good reason to be there. Unless he's seriously sick/injured, I expect him to play.

after San Jose and Memphis everyone said he will not be able to do another comeback... after Indian Wells he was the hope of German Tennis and now you think his career is over again??? Come on!! We all know that he is bad on clay. So it is the best time to give some more rest to his shoulder.... in Halle and Wimbledon he will win some good matches again and everyone will praise him again... Tennis is not about age but about motivation. The players who retired at the age of 30 or 32 like Lendl, Becker, Edberg... had a family with kids and they had their titles and it was time for other interests. But Tommy is still motivated so I am sure he can play a few more years like Agassi, Björkman or Santoro.
