Roddick Returns in 2008!

Andy Roddick, seeking to add a fourth title to his already impressive record, returns to the Nation's Capitol this August.

Roddick has chosen to focus his summer on the U.S. hardcourt swing, in preparation for the US Open. “My goal every summer is to win the US Open,” said Roddick. “I have won the Legg Mason Tennis Classic three times and feel defending my title in Washington best prepares me for another Grand Slam title.”

Currently #6 in the world rankings, Roddick finished 2007 in the Top 10 for his sixth straight season, winning at least one ATP singles title for the seventh consecutive year. He led the United States to its first Davis Cup title since 1995, the first American player since Pete Sampras in ‘95 to go undefeated (6-0) and lead his country to the Cup final. This year, his record is 15-2, with titles at San Jose and Dubai . While one is tempted to think of Roddickas the seasoned veteran – he has 25 singles titles, and played his first Legg Mason Tennis Classic in 2000 – he is just 25 years old, and has won the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in 2007, 2005 and 2001.

Me too!

And since when did Isner win the title? I must've been living in an alternate universe when he lost last year.

even if safin comes to legg mason....he'll never play a single match on those outer smaller courts

I loved watching Isners match from 5 ft away from the baseline last yr :yeah:

Yeah, but Safin does practice out there because I was right beside him watching.
The coolest thing for me was being that close to Karlovic while he was serving. Isner was pretty cool too, one time I stood behind the fence while he served from the other side, awesome view as the ball hit the fence in front of me. Ah, memories.

Nope, that's all they've said officially so far.

Tommy Haas, probably. He doesn't go to the Olympics, and rarely miss a tournament in the States.

The list will probably be similar to the list for Los Angeles:

In 2004, the lists for Washington & Long Island were almost identical except that Agassi only played in Washington.

Yeah, I got an email today about that. Haas, Safin, Ferrero, Lopez, Young. For a few months, I was wondering if I was just wasting my money, but now I'm glad I renewed my seats (actually upgraded by a row and now I'm on an aisle, but the same box).
