Nice doubles team of him and Stan. But again, Murray faces a top player in the first round. Hope its not two early loses for him in Dubai.

Andy Murray is a Winner with Kids in Dubai

- British number one seed finds time for a school visit in between chasing Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships title -

Dubai, UAE, March 2nd, 2008: British tennis star Andy Murray delighted hundreds of school children today when he made a special visit to the Dubai British School (DESS) ahead of his first round match against world number one and reigning Dubai Champion Roger Federer.

The British number one happily answered questions for over 400 excited children when Dubai Duty Free, owners and organizers of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships, arranged a special visit for the tennis star to DESS.

After a brief introduction from the school’s principal, children asked Murray questions about his life on and off court.

“I was never very good at school, so tennis was an easy choice,” said the 20 year-old British number one.

“I come from a sporting family, my mum is the national tennis coach of Scotland and my brother Jamie is a very good tennis player as well,” Murray added.

Murray was also asked questions by the awe-striken school children about his off court pursuits and favourite overall sporting hero.

“I have a Nintendo Wii which I try to play as much as I can” said Murray. I also follow other sports, particularly football and my sporting idol is Mohammad Ali. My tennis heroes growing-up were Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras.”

The tennis star was also questioned about his most challenging match to date by the children, who had thoroughly researched the British number one.

“My most challenging match would have to be in the Australian Open last year against Nadal,” he said. It went to 5-sets and although I lost, it was a great match.” :worship:  :yeah:

Headmaster David Hammond was particularly impressed with Murray and commented on his success and down-to earth attitude.

“Andy Murray is only 20 years old, but already has an impressive 5 singles titles to his name. We wish him the best of luck in his career and are very grateful that he visited DESS,” said Mr Hammond.

“All staff were thrilled and I heard a little girl in Year 3 tell her mum ‘we had Andy Murray in school today,’ so the all the children were delighted to see their hero,” Hammond added. :D

He has to be a seed so 1st round bye. He can't face a seed until 3rd round. He'll probably have Djokovic, Roddick, and Federer all on his side of the draw. Here's hoping he has Nadal and Ferrer instead. Nadal is much easier than Djokovic in his current form.

omg You're right! :D Don't know what I was thinking. Muzza will most likely sail through without facing a break point, then demolish some mug in the semis. The bottom half of the draw is all chokers, fakers and has beens, so the final will be a one sided Muzza masterclass :rocker2:

Zaba

I don't have sound and that video makes my internet crash. Can I get a summary of the interview?

He likes IW because it's "relaxed". He's not too worried about defending points because of the 3 1/2 months he missed last year and is focusing on the ATP race ranking this year. Winning 2 tournaments early on this year and beating Fed in Dubai has been good for his confidence. Says a MS is in some ways tougher than a slam because you play top players so early, like here he could play Safin in his first match.

Asked what he thinks about Fed's form he points out people were saying the same things after the Canas losses last year, and Fed will be wanting to "prove he's the best" over the next couple of weeks. Says the new coaching set up is good because it's less "intense" than travelling one on one with just a coach for long periods of time, and having a fitness trainer with him has been helpful. Says the Bikram yoga has been helping with his "mental strength".

Hopes to start to play better early on in tournaments, and therefore go deeper in them, including GS this year. Thinks he has a good chance of getting into the top ten and getting into the Masters Cup. Says his "number 1 goal this year is to beat Rafa Nadal" :D

Andy's serve is :retard: . He seriously needs to work on it and bring it up to par with the rest of his game. His opponents don't even need to work that hard to break him. It's also a shame how passively he plays sometimes. I see some brilliant tennis at times that show how talented he really is and then I see passive moon balling. He's so talented and needs to get it together.
