is it true, that carlos has an love affair with flavia pennetta??????????? :)

there were some rumors about that but nothing is confermed!!
so i think it is not true.

There was a one liner in a tennis mag that they are dating.

They are together. They have been together since Acapulco. Flavia even confirmed it during TMS Rome. She was upset at the media because no one focused on her tennis, all they wanted to know about was her and Carlos. She said they are both happy together.

sorry but i have my doubts about this relationship. Isn't she too young for him? And Moya was alone during the wedding of clavet and he seemed very glad seeing patricia and she was happy to see him. Unfortunately they are only friends now....BUT BOTH WERE ALONE

Flavia was in Carlos' box at his US Open matches. She wasn't at the first round match because she was playing at the same time. I was there and saw with my own eyes. It doesn''t prove they're "an item", it just proves they're friends.

Yes, I think he is probably not taking it very seriously..more like a fun way to keep practicing for the next week. Basically it gives him a reason to be in the tournament as an active participant instead of just hanging around with the early round losers.

Actually, it's a shame there aren't more opportunities for the men and women to play at the same event. It must be very difficult to be a "tennis couple" when most of the year you are both competing in differeent cities away from each other all the time.

I hope they do well. Even without much experience at doubles together, they are both good enough players to give a very respectable match.

I can se that you don't see it. Here are the reasons why I think it was a wise decision:
1. Carles has ages without playing any doubles tourney and overall in whole his career have played if I am not wrong about 5 doubles tourneys. Of course he never played doubles mixed before (perhaps he did it at the Hopman Cup several years ago, I am not sure about it).
2. Carles is not in a good shape, at least mentally, and the latinamerican season on clay starts just within a couple of weeks. So is better for him to prepare himself to play Buenos Aires, Costa do Sauípe and Acapulco, and who knows? since he was eliminated so soon he could ask for a WC to play at Viña del Mar. But he has to leave Melbourne asap if he is thinking to do that.
3. Flavietta has been already eliminated from singles and doubles so she doesn't needs to stay any longer at Melbourne, especially if she is planning to play at Pattaya. later she has to play at Open Gaz de France.

These are only a few reasons why I think it is indeed a very wise idea to leave the mixed doubles (which was only a caprice by both of them) and to concentrate in their respective coming tournaments. ;)

I haven't read an article about it. But the most likely explanation is that since Flavia was eliminated from women's doubles as well, they did prefer to move on to prepare themselves better for their coming tournaments.
