Jud, does that mean that you'd have taken cigarettes if you've happened to have at home?

bovenbuuf
04-28-2005, 01:50 PM
No.. I don't need them to get rid of the stress or whatever..

bovenbuuf
04-28-2005, 01:52 PM
although I did had for a while ciggerates in my house, but that was for a friend, she really wanted to quit but at bad moments she just needed one and then came to me to ask one :D
Then she had to wait for a long time, because I don't use them and well put them somewhere, but couldn't remember anymore :D

Choupi
04-28-2005, 01:58 PM
:p Well, not a bad solution to not remember where they were! I've never been tempted to start smoking. Simply didn't need to. Everybody was smoking at home. My parents, my bro, I suppose I had my dose of nicotin without having to smoke myself! And I know more than anyone else what damages smoking can cause to your health...I've experienced it "live" with my mum, and I really don't feel like starting.

OK. Time for me to leave for a while. The garden and its joys are calling me! :)

bovenbuuf
04-28-2005, 02:02 PM
same here Choupi, both my parents needed nicotin. I just had enough of that. And yes then also see what damage it can do it, its easier to say that you don't need it.

OK, update.....my computer is fixed. The tech guy.....bleeeeechhhhh....
He was old, gray hairs, and he stank up my place. I had to spray some Glade to get rid of it. He smelled like a combination of dirt and piss.

Choupi
04-29-2005, 12:19 PM
Yep! And that's great news!!!!!! :D

I've already done it in the GG forum, but I'd like to share it with you here too. We have a typical French tradition, for the 1st day of May. We offer ppl we like some Lily of the valley, a flower which grows wild in the woods. It is lovely and very perfumed, and grows only at that special time of the year. So, here's my gift for you all. It's meant to wish good luck to all those it is offered... :D Happy 1st Day of May all! :p

I love that flower,beautifull.

sigmagirl91
05-01-2005, 12:13 PM
OK. You don't like the "country"?

gravity
05-01-2005, 12:31 PM
I'm madly in love with the country. ;)

I'd say there's no better place to live *if* you don't have to depend on the local economy and find work here. I've done so much in the last two weeks and it's shocking how little it all costs in my home currency. That said, the cheapness isn't what attracts me. I was here when the local currency was pegged to the dollar and this was the most expensive country in Latin America; I still had the best time of my whole life. I love the great people, the food, the lifestyle and the wild nightlife that lasts until breakfast time.

Forget New York. The city that never sleeps is Buenos Aires.

Hi guys - this is a plea from the heart!!! I've just had an SMS from Peggy (Bjorki), who, as you all know, is a great Jonas Bjorkman fan. Today he is playing in the doubes final of RG and she really wants a video of the match - it isn't being shown in Europe but she thinks it may be shown in the States. She can't get Internet access today, so she asked me to ask if anyone at all could record it for her. I will also put a message in the Swedish Forum where I will probably have more success.

Thanks.

She told me about it too. Well, last year, we've had the incredible chance to see that final, because 2 Frenchies were there, and because Myskina had been expeditive in her final. I doubt that this year, we'll be as lucky. But I promise to tape that match if, by chance, it is shown. That's what I've answered her. :)

I will be watching the RG final, in a couple of hours, assuming my dish gets a clear satellite connection; I've been having difficulty getting local stations, which is why it would be better for me if the finals were on ESPN. Rosie, can you post a summary of the finals after the match is over, as I probably wont be seeing it on TV?

I just hope the final doesn't turn into the male equivalent of yesterday's Pierce/Henin fiasco  I don't think it will because Puerta is a fighter, - but he has absolutely no experience of this kind of big-match situation - and he wouldn't be human if nerves didn't get to him to some extent - and that could be the biggest factor in the match in my opinion. OK - Rafa has never been in a GS Final before, but he has already proved himself and his temperament in big match situations in DC and the Masters' Series events he has won. Puerta is pretty much untried in those situations.

I don't think Rafa will be rattled by the occasion. He already plays like a veteran anyway. Like I said before, this kid is a quick study.

Puerta play much better than Nadal, he deserves the title, not Nadal today!!!

sophia_c
06-05-2005, 06:54 PM
Puerta did play well and its a shame....but like I said before...when you are in the winning grove...somehow...your confidence dicatates how your results will go...and again thats what happened today...I'm sure he will have other opportunities and he has travelled a difficult road back to the top 40...he was way down ..like 400 or something...so his achievement so far as been amazing.....its still sad though

*Ljubica*
06-05-2005, 07:20 PM
I'm not sad or angry at all - just very proud and happy for him. Mariano is a nice guy, and what he has achieved is remarkable this past few months. I am sure he is more than satisfied with reaching the Final here today, and if he had actually gone ahead and won the tournament it might even have been a case of "too much, too soon" for him. I think he deserved to take it to a 5th set, but Nadal is undoubtedly the best clay court player out there at this moment, so his winning RG after his great feats in Monte Carlo and Rome was utterly fitting I think

sigmagirl91

Enjoy the match Tiff, and don't feel ashamed to do the wave with the crowd; asking for a 5th set. You know it won't happen because it's a taped match, but do it for the fun! :D I did!!!! But this time, my cat had already disappeared much sooner, so she didn't end up totally frightened, like last year for Gaston!!!!

sigmagirl91
06-05-2005, 07:42 PM
:D Will do. I just saw the trophy ceremony. I must say this: Rafa is taking all this in stride, and that attitude is great. And he's even got a positive attitude toward the upcoming grass-court season.

*Ljubica*
06-05-2005, 07:48 PM
Yes - Rafael is extremely composed and mature for his age - maybe it comes from being brought up in a family of top sportsmen - he is used to facing success and failure and the big occasion from a very early age and takes it all in his stride.

Hi all :wavey: Just got back from Utrecht, really hot there! But well did had a lot of fun, went to see some very good friends of mine and well was nice to see them happy.

Also was in the middle of a party, didn't even know that it was there and that it was a gay and lesbian party. But well the music was good and the weather was even better :)
And well it was very crowed there, a lot of people are here in holland now because of World championships under 20 are there.. Here in my town we have the Argentinians and there in Utrecht are the Spaniards so well did saw both teams now. So well a lot of fun. Hope you all had the same :)

The concert was brilliant...I can't even say...they opened with Vertigo and closed with it too....The Edge was his usual brilliant self...we were very lucky to have very good seats...but somehow I was envious of those people at the front...even though they were standing but apparently they had been there since 12.30pm...U2 didn't come on until 9.15pm...The Doves were up first and then Ash...I do like The Doves but well Ash...not one of my favourites...I would have preferred Athlete but I am not about to complain. My girlfriends all had a great time..it has definetly been the highlight of the Summer so far...now if only David would do well at Wimbledon :) ....I still have the Live 8 concert to look forward to...thats if I don't decide to give the tickets to my friends who are getting married next Sunday...thats definetly a possibility as the person I really want to go with can't be here  ...but nevermind...I also have Berlin to look forward to...off on Wednesday morning at 5am....so I'll miss David in the second round and beyond. I'm back on Saturday night and then the wedding....I'm such a party animal  (not) :D ...

I bring you greetings from NC. Training has been hectic. Three to four hours of classroom training and social activities, but I am having a ball. It's beautiful down here in Asheville. It took 5 1/2 hours of drive time (yeah, I drove) to get here. Interstate 40 is so beautiful from the Tennessee border on down to NC-the mountains, trees....it's so green and fertile. Good thing about it, is traffic was not heavy at all, like US interstates are so notorious for.

I was not aware that you had to turn your fucking satellite dish off,to record something from the cable . :fiery:  :( You would think think that it would record what ever the fuck is on your TV screen, that would seem obvious. I, being the idiot that I am, watched the whole god damn match without even realizing that I was recording 'Sportscenter' from ESPN instead of the Wimbledon final on NBC. :fiery: :fiery: Now I will have to wait and buy this match on Ebay. :( :fiery:  Not to mention the fact that I completly waisted 2 hours on my video tape.

Anyway it will be great to have some snow; and I'm looking forward to some snow fights with family and friends. :)

Looks like you're gonna be very busy this Xmas.
We've got some very good parks here in London; I'm sure it's gonna be heaving early next week with people taking advantage of this snow.
I'm looking more forward to the New Year parties. :D
I've already been invited to 2 parties and I'm also taking my girlfriend to the fireworks display at the Thames on New Years Eve. I'm gonna be so busy that night.

I just want to say I wish everyone here a happy and safe holiday season. :) For me, personally, the holidays have not been near as fun as they should be, with the recent death of my cat Domino who underwent kidney surgery, 2 years ago, (which was right around Christmas time.) He died unexpectedly, and seeing as I didn't have an autopsy performed, I wont know the actual cause of death; though I think it was excess stress that did it. Unfortunatly, these things seem to happen at the worst possible times for me; 3 years ago my father passed away just after New Year's, 2 years ago my first cat, Cinnamon died from antifreeze poisining, just after my Birthday, in March.
I know the loss of a cat doesn't seem like much, but when you've been with them for so long (8+ years) and gone through so much with them, you really form a close bond with them.

Thanks Sigma. :) How have things been going for you? We have a few inches of snow up here, though it hasn't snowed for days now, and it isn't likely to snow anymore on Christmas.

Another semester, done. We have no snow; in fact, it's been mild here. I don't know if we'll get any snow again this year if the current weather conditions are any indication.

We didn't get any snow last year on Christmas, so its nice to have some this year. I could do without the freezing weather, though its mild right now. I just finished watching 'It's a Wonderful Life' a few minutes ago, and will watch 'Bad Santa' tomorrow. :)

Yer everyone at Arsenal really misses David 'Rocky' Rocastle. He was a bit before my time but I've seen video footage of his play and he was a special talent. His charity is being sponsored by Arsenal in their final year at Highbury; a nice touch.
The two parks I go to most and the ones with good hills are Primrose and Hyde Park. I hope this snow actually comes to London.

Hi... :wavey: Rocastle was before my time too..but I saw some footage of him and I thought he was quite amazing...and yes it is a nice touch...Primrose Hill...very nice ;) ...me...I'm think more like the slopes around Berden (very small and insignificant place close to Stansted and where my friends live....a village called St. Michaels Mead)...I am certainly hoping the snow comes too because I don't have to go back to school until next week....and if it snows then...my kids that I teach (7 year olds)...will be way too excited to sit in one place for longet than 5 minutes

I live not too far away from Primrose Hill. Some of the best views in London are from Primrose Hill. :)
Put it this way, if it snows too much school will be closed and you'll have a day off. ;) If it does snow heavily I bet the country will grind to a halt as usual. The last time it snowed heavily the responsiveness of key services was dreadful.

Yep..I remember last time...the M11, which is close to me...was closed and many people were caught on it..my Dad was one of them...(OMG!!!!the French temper was working over time).....it amazes me that they have not even gritted the roads yet  ...maybe they might do that tomorrow night

I just came back from my tennis class, and I'm exhausted!!!! The weather is really hot, there's not even a fucking cloud around!
But whatever, I had some fun, I improved my backhand a little :) The bad part is that I have new blisters in my left hand

Jime...why the hell have you blisters??..I play for about 12 hours a week and I don't have any....and trust me...I would swap the weather....

I am amazed at how expensive tennis is in BS AS...Soda and I played for like 2 hours...in a club...(behind a building where you would never have thought there were tennis courts...)...and the surface was really bad..(Soda did fall)...aand its was $60 (pesos)
