Seeded players:

1. Rafael Nadal
2. Marcos Baghdatis
3. Carlos Moya
4. Mikhail Youzhny
5. Nicolas Mahut
6. Jurgen Melzer
7. Werner Eschauer
8. Marc Gicquel

Main draw: Saturday, December 29, 2007, 3.00 p.m.

Epidermically having been seen the whole entry list, the first four seeded players seem the possible winners of this tournament (with Rafa standing head and shoulders above the rest).

Assuming that Marcos does not make a first round exit  and hoping that he does not underestimate anyone of his opponents, he has many chances to reach the final where he plays Rafa. I don't see Rafa making the same "mistake" as this year (he lost in SF to Xavier Malisse).

Rafa-Marcos h2h: 5-0
Marcos' last three defeats (all in 2007):
1. Dubai: 6/3 2/6 3/6
2. Madrid: 4/6 4/6
3. Paris: 6/4 4/6 3/6

Can Marcos push Rafa further this time? Seems very difficult. :o
Anyway, we will see...

Another interesting point. We will have a battle in this tournament for the 15th and 16th seedings for AO.
Currently the rankings are the following:
15. Canas
16. Baghdatis
17. Moya
18. Ljubicic
19. Youzhhny.
Willy Canas has already withdrawn from AO (injury). I don't see Ljubicic defending his title in Doha. So, we have Marcos, Carlos and Misha fighting for 2 places (15th and 16th). Their points are 1600, 1585 and 1570 respectively. And what a coincidence, all three of them have their fifth countable tournament with 75 points. Well, Carlos' fifth is Chennai 2007.
If for this reason Marcos had chosen to play Chennai over Doha (to have a closer eye to Carlos and Misha) and decided to ignore the higher appearance fees in Doha (Yiannos till the last minute was declaring Doha as the 1st tournament in 2008 for Marcos), then I would have given my credits to Yiannos. This man continues to surprise me in a pleasant way. :D

All of sudden, the upcoming tournament in Chennai turns to be quite interesting. Especially if we take into account that whoever survives till the final has to play an intimidating Rafa, who seems very eager to establish himself as a "no-clay-court-specialist". No?

Hello there :)

Do you have any information how well is Marcos prepared, how was his fitness lately or what has he been doing during the break...'cause official site doesn't give even the most basic data about it

Let's go Baggy ;)

If you truly feel my happiness, thanks.

If a hidden irony is around there, then I return it to you and advise you to put it at its proper place.

Thanks but it's not a joke completely.

If you truly feel my happiness, thanks.

It's not ironic.

You seem a bit angry lately.
