Good Luck Guille! :worship: :D

06-07-2004, 03:55 AM
isnt he a champion???

Q. Will you be pulling out of the Queen's Club event in London, or do you still intend to go? >

GUILLERMO CORIA: Yes, I will be in Queen's. I will have a special invitation. Even if I had won this tournament, I would have gone, because when I commit myself, I respect my commitments. I don't know how I will feel mentally, but I will do everything to win the tournament and I will try to forget what happened today.

here's what he said on his site....

Guille wrote: "I watched the match again and I felt pleased"

"It is in this moments when you realize who loves you for real and who doesn't", Guille said in his e-mail.

"Hello everybody!!!"

"I hope you excuse me for not having written before, but the truth is that I'm still sad because I missed the title at Roland Garros... Anyway, you deserve that I write to you, above all because of all the e-mails I got...Honestly, I really appreciate it!".

"As regards what happened on Sunday, it was something new to me. It's never happened to me before... I kept thinking that winning at Roland Garros was right there and that really backfired".

"I watched the match again and I felt pleased because I played the best tennis I could. I couldn't believe what I was able to achieve during the fifth set beacuse I was totally torn due to the muscular spams and I endured it. Undoubtfully, it will be very useful for my future. I'll work on it so it would never happen to me again".

"The weariness was so important that my body still hurts. I played for a while today and I was very hard for me, so I hope I can adapt quickly to Queen's grass and win in my debut. I will be hard, but I will fight back".

"I repeat, I'm sad but I'm calmed because I did everything I could to win. I was just a point away and I took the risk, but I missed...I felt it slipping away!!!! Anyway, I know that next time I won't give way...".

"I've had a lot of time to think and I feel that it happened for a reason. The tournament wasn't meant for me, but I will keep training hard as usual to come back next year and let all my anger out".

"I wish I could let it all out sooner honestly, because there still are many important tournaments left. I will continue with the same strenght I always had, but I want to win Roland Garros more than ever!!!".

"Some people were asking about my confidence...I'm fine today, I didn't forget how to play tennis or anythiong of the sort: Be relaxed, I trust in me as always".

"All the people that surround me have a lot to do with that. It is in those moments when you realize who loves you for real....Losing the final was also good to "separate the wheat from the chaff"".

"As regards whether I will or won't incorporate a psychologist in my work team, it will very hard to analyze since it has never been released. I haven't thought much about it. Currently, I'm trying to start working with somebody that is not a trainer, some kind of a partner...I can't tell you the name yet, I wll only tell you that rumors are not wrong".

"Once again, I want to thank everybody because of all the e-mail you sent friends from Venado Tuerto and Rosario, the parents of some of them, you, everyone...".

"I know that I will surprise you with a huge joy. Anyhow, life gives and takes...This time I had to lose, but I will never forget what I have achieved so far. And I won't submit because that's the way tennis is".

"Well, send you a big hug...".

06-09-2004, 04:53 AM
and :wavey: everyone that's new here!

06-10-2004, 04:08 AM
hmmm he lost in straight sets

06-10-2004, 06:43 AM
well, we've got to accept he has gotta work alot on playing on grass.

but thats one of the things i admire most about him actually, his willing to try everything even if he's bad at it. he just has so much persistance and ambition...not content to just sit on his "king of clay" laurels

ya volverán las victorias, mago!

06-14-2004, 01:44 AM
Something from the Ordina Open:

06-14-2004, 01:47 AM
oops.. dunno what happened there juz now.. nways here's something frm the Ordina Open:
Safin cancelled, Coria present
Saturday 12 June 2004

Marat Safin can't play at the Ordina Open. The Russian player still suffers from a hand injury which he derived from Roland Garros.

The organisation is glad to present Guillermo Coria as his replacer. The finalist of Roland Garros is no grasscourt specialist, but a world class player non the less.

Other world class players at the Ordina Open this year are Rainer Schuettler, Tommy Robredo and off course title defender Sjeng Schalken.

06-14-2004, 01:59 AM
hey in the article....coria doesn have that bad of english! hehe. unless they translated it from spanish or something:) how is he on hard court??

06-14-2004, 02:05 AM
i reckon he's better at hard court than at grass.. coz he reached the quarter finals in last year's US Open.. juz that Agassi stood in his way..

I wonder if Guille is following Euro 2004 .. hehe.. last night, at Stella Artois, Roddick predicted England 1 France 0!

06-14-2004, 02:09 AM
hehe yeah i watched part of the match. took me by surprise 2 - 1...i hope hope hope he wins a grandslam this year. hard court or grass or which eva one! hehe. :)

Can someone tell me when this boy is playing today?? The Ordina is enough to make me ill . .. I can't make heads or tails of it.

06-17-2004, 01:25 PM
Maybe one hours later. He is on the third match of the centre court.
Now on the centre court, Pierce are playing against Kremer.6-4, If Pierce take the match in second set. Then it'll begin Guill's match.
So I think the match will begin about one hours later.
Here is live scores:
If you can see that match, that's great.:)

06-17-2004, 01:27 PM
And of course, Mary Pierce would take up ALL the time. She is such a slow player! And now they've gone for the bathroom break.

I'm going to have to leave before Guille gets on the court. :bigcry:

06-17-2004, 01:33 PM
She does? OmG. Ok, I'll wait.
He will win the match when you get bach here;)
:wavey: :wavey: Have a nice day!

06-17-2004, 01:36 PM
Thanks for the info. I don't know if it is my computer or their site or a combination of the two but nothing happens when I go to the Ordina site and there's all this stuff 2003 and 2002 in Dutch and it's crazy! I wish the Tennis Channel here would televise these matches . . .

And about Guille's draw at Wimbledon, he'll do fine. Might not make it past the second (or better third round) but his game on grass will be better and he'll be happier going into the summer. Where is he off to after Wimbledon?

Guille's Girl
06-17-2004, 02:19 PM
 the Wimby draw is like uhm.....scary? That's all I could find. But I know Guille ain't scared pfft.

Yeah he's VERY good on hardcourt. Remember he was in the finals of Maimi?? Had to default....kidney stones. How could anyone forget  SO I think he will do good at the USO.

Don't know what he's gonna do after Wimby. Maybe go on another killing spree like last year :haha: But um, I hope he plays a few USO Series events. The first one starts July 12.

06-17-2004, 03:51 PM
If he hadn't been ill in Miami, he would have won. Roddick said he was sick too (?) but regardless he didn't know what to do with Guille's shots and when Guille is in his "zone", he is unstoppable.

If he can get his nerves under control then it will stop messing with his body so much and then the sky is the limit for him. But that little latin head of his I think blows things up and then he gets psyched out and the stress weakens his immune system. He already puts so pressure on his body anyway as a professional athlete . . . it's a tough life I think.

06-17-2004, 04:40 PM
Guille's in the QFs!!! :bounce: :woohoo:

06-17-2004, 04:47 PM
woooohooo yes!!!!!

06-17-2004, 11:58 PM
 the Wimby draw is like uhm.....scary?

Yes, for me it's a bit scary, specially for a probable match in 2nd round I think against Arthurs :scared:

06-18-2004, 12:56 AM
yeah!! hes in the QF!!:):) damn i could be smiling all day long!! hehe. so OUR(although i want him to myself i cant be selfish;)hehe just kiddin)man is playing against wesley first round wimbledon??

06-18-2004, 01:04 AM
Yeah, but Arthurs lost in the first round in his last 2 grass tourny's. He seems a bit off. Postive thoughts ......

06-18-2004, 04:44 AM
haha yeah..*fingers crossed* anythin could happen last minute..and guille has been won his last two games!!:)

06-18-2004, 08:19 AM

Cool avatar Guille's Girl :yeah:

Btw....I must say that if you look at it quickly, it looks like Guille has sort of curly hair  Cutie ;)

06-20-2004, 10:05 AM
well, yeah, he's hair is not exactly straight...

and he seems to be always biting the ball, does he know how many bacterias go into his mouth every time he bites it?

06-20-2004, 11:02 AM
He thought it's delicious~;) :p

06-20-2004, 01:40 PM
I just read that Guille is playing doubles with Frederico Browne.

So we'll have to check the doubles draw too. :)

06-20-2004, 02:12 PM
Guille and Frederico are playing Black and Ullyet in the first round.

That's a very tough draw for them. :(

06-20-2004, 02:13 PM
is he playing double on wimbledon with browne? And when is he playing on wimbledon?? So many games, so little time ....:)

06-20-2004, 03:31 PM
The doubles usually start a little later in the tournament.

I don't see how he will have more than one match in doubles with that draw. :)

06-20-2004, 03:52 PM
:D The world always has a MIRACLE. Star ;)

06-20-2004, 03:55 PM
If Guille is to have a MIRACLE at Wimbledon, I want it to be for him to win the singles title!!!

YAY MIRACLES!!! :bigclap:

06-20-2004, 04:07 PM
Oh!! I'll pray for that miracle ;), big miracle! :yippee:

06-21-2004, 01:28 AM
lol, can i too!!!??!! :)

06-21-2004, 06:00 AM
And why not?

You never know! He's El Mago after all...

06-21-2004, 12:29 PM

Good luck for Coria in Wimbledon!

06-21-2004, 12:50 PM
Im hoping he will do really well at Wimbledon - his draw pretty much should pan out as follows...

1st round : Wesley Moodie
2nd round : Florian Mayer
3rd round : Ivan Ljubicic
4th round : Mardy Fish
Q-F : JC Ferrero
S-F : Roger Federer
F : Andy Roddick

I hope I haven't jinxed him

06-21-2004, 01:08 PM
haha yeah..well is he playing on the 21st or 22nd for the first round of wimbledon? and if you could give me the timing that would be great;)

06-21-2004, 01:14 PM
Coria is playing Moodie today (21st) and is 3rd on court 1. Basically at the moment Hewitt is 2-0 up in sets over Melzer so that could be over by about 3pm. Then theres a ladies singles match so Id say Coria should be on court at about 4:30pm.

06-21-2004, 01:17 PM
thanks so much!! so he'll be on center court. hopefully they will show that! right now they are showing court 18 here in singapore. srichapan vs his opponent..i forget his name hehe.

06-21-2004, 01:21 PM
Nope Coria is on Court 1 not Centre Court. ah right that must be Srichaphan v Karlovic? I currently have the Elseneer v Parmar match on which is on court 17 - I have the choice of 5 courts :D

Guille's Girl
06-21-2004, 01:22 PM
Thank you Paul. YOu're very cool to have around! :yeah:

06-21-2004, 01:23 PM
hehe your lucky we dont get choices..right now its federer vs bogdanoyic score is 6-3 6-3 5-0 all to federer.

06-21-2004, 01:26 PM
Thank you Paul. YOu're very cool to have around! :yeah:

Thanx :) But I sadly have some bad news - its looking like Hewitt will wrap up his match against Melzer soon BUT the bad bad news is that its raining again at Wimbledon and play is suspended :(

Guille's Girl
06-21-2004, 01:29 PM
That's GREAT!!! Someone in here said pray for rain and somebody must've been! Maybe play will be suspended all day and Guille will get a break!....uhm, :yeah: thanks for the update :)

06-21-2004, 01:29 PM
that so sucks!! hopefully they'll be able to play later on tonight!hehe:):)

06-21-2004, 01:32 PM
I think I may have been a little hasty with my rain call - some courts are off for rain but court 1 is still playing with Hewitt 6-2 6-4 4-2 up against Melzer with Melzer serving. So maybe a 4:15pm - 4:30pm start for Coria is looking on again :)

06-21-2004, 01:37 PM
YES YES YES!! HEHE I AM SO EXCITED!! I AM GONNA DO A LIL PRAYER BEFORE HE STARTS! HEHE sorry for the caps..just my excitednism. hehe. tomorrow i am going to the linkin park concert! hehe. do any of ya guys like them??

06-21-2004, 01:40 PM
Just an update - Hewitt has just beaten Melzer so Coria will be on after a ladies singles match - bad news is that the covers are now ON Court 1 :(

06-21-2004, 01:43 PM
err they should make up their minds..actually u no i agree with GG. i hope it does rain so that coria can get a break and he can rest it of today..after yesterdays match! good thinking GG hehe:) i mean i would have neva though of something like that:)

06-23-2004, 09:32 AM
I'm actually pretty excited for a Coria-Ferrero match up. I love both players though so my heart will take some bleeding but woah- what a match it'll be!
