michelleg, do you use a digital camera and if so, which model?

michelleg
06-05-2004, 05:56 PM
Yes, its my new camera :) It is a Panasonic DMC-FZ10PP, Lumix

I'm still learning how to use it, but I can tell you it has an auto-stabilizing function when used in sports mode and a very effective light sensor...its such a great camera!

A stupid question but...

Does anyone have any idea how long Gaston's hair is when he lets it down? I don't think he's cut it since I first saw him.

Choupi, I saw the RG video just now (bad image) but I didn't hear when he promises to let his hair down. The sound is confusing and my French not so good... Have you seen the photo with his hair loose that Adri posted on Oct. 5th ? He looks completely different! Hi Vale!

Sorry you couldn't see very well on the video. I have it perfectly clear here. But sometimes, as I told you, the site itself has some connection trouble.

At least, have you seen how joyfull he was? It was so emotionaly overwhelming when I saw this interview live. But I assure you it still gives me some chills when I watch it again on the web. :p

Have you seen there are other interviews? You just have to click on the day you want. You'll hear him say he will dance tango...

hi ppl, im new here. whats the issue betwween coria and gaudio?

They have different tennis styles and different sportmanship attitudes. They were always standing on opposite sides and they were never friends. Competition was present on court but nothing else.
Coria is known for faking injuries during matches to distract the other player in front of him. Gaston is a guy who is very expressive and if he has something to tell, he does it in your face. That's why they had so many unfortunate episodes on court in Viña del Mar, Buenos Aires and Hamburg.

There's also the fans issue. Gaudio fans are very different from Coria ones. If you like a player it's obvious you will dislike the other. You can see that whenever they face each other, the stadiums look like a football one =O)

Lots of Argentines have what we call “cábalas”, where you do something for luck, and even if you don’t believe in it, you do it just in case! One of the typical ones is to wear a red ribbon for luck, and I’m guessing the red bracelet was a substitute. Maybe the GF gave it to him. I’m sure he wore the RG outfit for luck too, which goes to show that cábalas are overrated.

MeluG
11-18-2004, 08:38 PM
Nope, his red bracelet has nothing to do with a cabala. It was a gift from somebody who admires him and he felt like wearing it ;O)

And as far as the outfit is concerned, he's wearing it again by contract with Diadora.

As most of us know it was Gaston's birthday a couple of days ago (December 9), so here's a nice picture of him celebrating and cutting his Birthday cake :bdaycake:

Seems to be embarassed while cutting it. Well I would have loved to help him do it, just to have the opportunity to share the cake with him. We've got quite the same birthday date after all, haven't we? ;)

I think that pic is from when Argentina played Russia in the Davis Cup.. but hey it's a cake so it counts! At the beginning I thought it was from his birthday as well :D

LOL, I ate a huge piece of chocolate cake on Thursday , I shouldn't have [I'm not supposed to eat that much sugar] but it wasn't until after I finished it that I thought "what the hell, that was for Gastón's birthday"! hehe...

Well a friend of mine in Argentina sent it to me and told me it was from his Birthday - so I guess I took their words at face value. It would explain why Luza is there though- if it's an older photo- I did wonder about that.

Thanks Rosie and where did you get that pic?

As you know I am the soul of discretion and never reveal my sources ;) However, on this occasion I'm afraid my "source" is no more exciting than the daily newspaper "Clarins", and this is the article that went with it. Sorry I am busy at work so no time to translate properly - basically it just says that the Copa Argentina de Tenis is growing bigger each year, that most of the seats are already sold, and that the specially laid ashpalt court will remain at the Club all the time to give Argentine players ample opportunity to practice on fast surfaces. This is the link if you want to read it yourselves:-

TENNIS: AN ASPHALTIC CARPET WILL REPLACE THE MYTHICAL CLAY OF THE BUENOS AIRES LAWN TENNIS CLUB

Eight stars, this time on hardcourt

The asphaltic carpet -of a violet/blue color- that will cover the historical clay, costed 40 thousand pesos to the tournament and it'll be kept there until the end of the year so the Argentine players can train facing the fastcourts tour, in January. "We tried the court, it's very good, it's well done", commented Agustín Calleri.

But it's not all numbers.
