But sometimes, as I told you, the site itself has some connection trouble. At least, have you seen how joyfull he was? It was so emotionaly overwhelming when I saw this interview live. But I assure you it still gives me some chills when I watch it again on the web. :p Have you seen there are other interviews? You just have to click on the day you want. They were always standing on opposite sides and they were never friends. Competition was present on court but nothing else. Coria is known for faking injuries during matches to distract the other player in front of him. Gaston is a guy who is very expressive and if he has something to tell, he does it in your face. That's why they had so many unfortunate episodes on court in Viña del Mar, Buenos Aires and Hamburg. There's also the fans issue. Gaudio fans are very different from Coria ones. If you like a player it's obvious you will dislike the other. You can see that whenever they face each other, the stadiums look like a football one =O) Eiffel 11-18-2004, 04:32 AM http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20041118/capt.txdp10811180437.masters_cup_txdp108.jpg http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20041117/capt.txdp10111172032.masters_cup_txdp101.jpg http://us.news1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20041115/i/r1148459864.jpg http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20041118/capt.txdp10911180438.masters_cup_txdp109.jpg Adri 11-18-2004, 03:19 PM Thanks for posting those :) I'm curious about that red bracelet he's been wearing since the TMC started... It looks like a red version of those yellow "Livestrong" bracelets... More pictures (from GettyImages): Vale 11-18-2004, 05:22 PM Lots of Argentines have what we call “cábalas”, where you do something for luck, and even if you don’t believe in it, you do it just in case! One of the typical ones is to wear a red ribbon for luck, and I’m guessing the red bracelet was a substitute. Maybe the GF gave it to him. I’m sure he wore the RG outfit for luck too, which goes to show that cábalas are overrated. MeluG 11-18-2004, 08:38 PM Nope, his red bracelet has nothing to do with a cabala. It was a gift from somebody who admires him and he felt like wearing it ;O) And as far as the outfit is concerned, he's wearing it again by contract with Diadora. Adri 11-18-2004, 11:33 PM Ooh, thanks Melu! :D *Ljubica* 11-19-2004, 11:32 AM Hi - I know we're all feeling a little sad lately, so thought I would try and cheer you up with this happy picture of a smiling Gaston! I just had a chance to see the replay last night after waiting to see the match live for such a long time and had to go out for work. All I can say is it's not GG's day. It reminds me of the final match in Stuggart, Mercedes Cup that GG played against Canas, and GG was so upset that he smashed the racket like this time. Go Gaston! We all cheer and support you. aiwen_mei 11-19-2004, 01:58 PM :) aiwen_mei 11-19-2004, 02:05 PM One more pic from the first match against Feddex Choupi 11-19-2004, 02:42 PM Hi - I know we're all feeling a little sad lately, so thought I would try and cheer you up with this happy picture of a smiling Gaston! I saw that picture some time ago at Melu's site [I think...], so it is old indeed... but it's OK, as I said he's cutting a cake there so it counts as a birthday picture :D Action Jackson 12-16-2004, 05:33 AM I found this picture of two fine Roland Garros champions. http://www.atptennis.com/en/media/insiderpics/2004/rgchamps.jpg Choupi 12-16-2004, 06:19 AM It's been taken this year at the Sao Paulo Exhibition, hasn't it? Yes, those 2 guys are 2 great RG champions. Action Jackson 12-16-2004, 06:22 AM That is in Sao Paulo and Gaston looks asleep. Choupi 12-16-2004, 06:29 AM He was with his friends out there. He must have partied the whole night before... ;) *Ljubica* 12-16-2004, 08:45 AM This is a picture of Gaston from the Copa Argentina de Tenis yesterday. Action Jackson 12-16-2004, 08:51 AM Thanks Rosie and where did you get that pic? Choupi 12-16-2004, 08:53 AM I was just wondering about that too. Though I know Rosie has always very good sources... ;) *Ljubica* 12-16-2004, 09:32 AM Thanks Rosie and where did you get that pic? As you know I am the soul of discretion and never reveal my sources ;) However, on this occasion I'm afraid my "source" is no more exciting than the daily newspaper "Clarins", and this is the article that went with it. Sorry I am busy at work so no time to translate properly - basically it just says that the Copa Argentina de Tenis is growing bigger each year, that most of the seats are already sold, and that the specially laid ashpalt court will remain at the Club all the time to give Argentine players ample opportunity to practice on fast surfaces. Choupi 12-16-2004, 09:34 AM Thanks Rosie. But I'm afraid I'll have to wait for sbdy to translate it. Action Jackson 12-16-2004, 09:35 AM Brilliant as always Rosie, but whenever I go to their website I can't find the pictures. It seems like I will have to spend 05 learning Spanish, that would be funny with my accent. *Ljubica* 12-16-2004, 09:50 AM Brilliant as always Rosie, but whenever I go to their website I can't find the pictures. It seems like I will have to spend 05 learning Spanish, that would be funny with my accent. I am sure you would sound great speaking Spanish:) I am told my English accent speaking Spanish is "cute" but not sure if that was a compliment or an insult!!! I would sit here and translate the article for you now if I could, but don't think my Boss would appreciate the time it would take me as we're really busy here this morning. taysbest 12-16-2004, 11:40 AM Thanks Rosie! The only way I can translate it is to use Babel Fish....I'd post it but sometimes those transalations aren't that great. I'm at work too. I'm sure my boss would like me to be doing something work related right now but...it's just not as fun. taysbest 12-16-2004, 11:41 AM here is the babel fish translation. Sorry if it's not very good. Also the interest noticed in the appearance of more sponsors, since this year the amount of the edition was duplicated that in 2003 Guillermo gained Canes. "Son 30 clients, between auspiciantes, gastronomy and stands", the director said to him to Bugler, in reference to the economic growth of the competition. The asphalt folder - of blue color violáceo- that will cover the historical dust with brick, cost to the match 40 thousand pesos to him and will be until near year end so that the Argentine players train facing the tour on fast fields, in January. "Probamos the field, is very good, is hecha" well;, Agustín Calleri commented. But all are not numbers. Yesterday, in the press conference, Gaudio, Mariano Zabaleta, Jose Acasuso, Juan Ignacio Chela, Calleri more Gastón Etlis and Mariano Hood (they will play doubles Sunday with Martín Rodriguez and Martín Garci'a, respectively), shone a white rower supporting the communitarian work of the ACNUR, an organization of the United Nations destined to collect bottoms for the educative and sport programs for refugees. I'm sure my boss would like me to be doing something work related right now but...it's just not as fun. Ah - yes - isn't it boring when you're at work and the boss actually expects you to do something work related   I'll just have to keep looking for that millionaire to keep me in the style I would like to be accustomed to and stop me working :) taysbest 12-16-2004, 09:01 PM Ahh Rosie- I know what you mean. I gave up looking for the millionaire! I haven't given up on the lottery though and the local radio station has been giving money away after they play certain songs....everyone in my office is trying to win the money so we sit glued to the radio listening for the stupid song and dialing away..we'll never win but it beats working. Oh well..another day another dollar *LOL*.... Adri 12-16-2004, 09:07 PM Hey guys, I can translate that article for you gladly. It's like practice for me - I'm studying Modern Languages and I hope to become a translator. I'll give you the translation in another post shortly :) Adri 12-16-2004, 09:27 PM OK, here it is :): TENNIS: AN ASPHALTIC CARPET WILL REPLACE THE MYTHICAL CLAY OF THE BUENOS AIRES LAWN TENNIS CLUB Eight stars, this time on hardcourt Gastón Gaudio, Roland Garros Champion, and David Nalbandian are the atraction poles of the "Copa Argentina", starting today.
