The exhibition is played in only 1 set and Gaston won 6/4. It should have been worst cause Lapentti played rather badly. Gaston showed us a lot of his wonderful backhands and played seriously (even getting frustrated once.)

I don't think that "sadness" is there. I would say "painful contemplativeness" instead. It's a whole different story, Vale.

You´re quite right - Gastón was trying to entertain the crowd whereas Chela was trying to win.

It was great to see Gastón in such a good mood, in spite of the protection on his ankle (stained with red clay!). The court was unbelievable, shiny and slippery, with deep grooves where the panels were joined. They were being careful not to slip!

But the benefit was a great success as they gathered 5500 people in the indoor stadium. Lots of advertisers, live TV coverage for all Latin America, and instead of charging entrance fees everybody had to take useful items to donate to the flood victims.

The Davis Cup turn-out was truly impressive. It was quite moving to see that all the Legión was out in force to support Argentina!
