Does anyone know about the tickets to this tournament? The official website is only in Russian (or is it just my computer who can't open the English version?!), and unfortunately my Russian skills aren't nearly good enough to figure it out! :)

Now that he's qualified for Shanghai, Davydenko should concentrate on that tournament and DC and withdraw his entry.

Why is it that so many more top players seem to enter Lyon when St.Petersberg is worth 250 points and Lyon only 225 points?

BTW, Hopefully Murray wins so he's still in with a slight chance to qualify 8th for Shanghai (or maybe as a alternate).

.

Logistical reasons?? It's more difficult to get a visa, flight to St. Petersburg is much longer (Madrid-Lyon-Paris compared to Madrid-St. Petersburg-Paris)...

can someone explain why Jurgen Melzer is number 7 on the entry list and he did not get seeded? I know his ranking has dropped way down since he was 32, but I thought that ranking would stand in St. Petersburg. Johansson who is 15 on the list is seeded. I guess I just don't understand all this stuff well enough.

For seeding they take the latest ranking (Melzer 56, Johansson 39);)

before someone deletes my post again... here is what the ATP Rulebook says about it:

6.15 seeDs DefiNiTioN
Seeds are players who are given preferential positions in the draw based on the ATP
Ranking. The selection and arrangement of seeds shall be based upon the most recent
ATP Ranking List (the Entry Protection is not considered). Each Tournament shall have a
seeded draw and there shall be only one seeding list. Seeding shall not be official until
the final draw is made. For doubles, seeded teams will be determined by using the combined
doubles Ranking of the two players (entry protection not included).
