I really hope that he will start his comeback in Bastad and that he won´t have to deal with injuries again in the future.

I don't know if this qualifies as news but, when he had his operation in January this year, he wasn't allowed to fly for a few months (I think).
However, a girl who won a competition on Jonas Bjorkmans website, saw Magnus in the plane seat in front of her, on the flight from Sweden to Monte Carlo. She was going to the Monte Carlo tournament. So, at least that's some progress :-/

poor magnus... i think he want to play so much, but he can't
06-13-2004, 04:03 PM
Where do you know from that Magnus will not play in Båstad?
Is it to 100% sure?
06-14-2004, 12:19 PM
I still think Magnus will try everything to play Båstad.
This is his fave tournament and I guess when there is a chance,
he will also try to play.
I guess if he can´t play than he will be there and practice cos he has many top sparring partners there.
But anyway, as long as they did not write anything on the Swedish Open homepage, I am still hoping that he will play Båstad :D

I also hope Magnus will play in Båstad. Would be great to have him back!

Yes, it would be awesome.
And I agree with you, Sommarsverige....I guess he'll attend the tournament even though he wouldn't play.
It's always so cool to see all the Swedes there....
06-18-2004, 05:02 PM
maybe he'll try at least even if he isnt 100% fit

I'm sad, but I'm not disappointed
From my friends yahoo group:
Sorry, everybody, but this is pretty bad news about Magnus. We already knew that he wasn't going to be able to play in Bastad (thanks to Lollo!) but an article just appeared today in Swedish indicating that Magnus is still experiencing pain in his hip, and is thinking about abandoning his comeback effort. He cannot play tennis more than an hour without pain in his hip, cannot run for more than 20 minutes without pain, and just two weeks ago had pain in his hip during a round of golf. He vows not to play in pain again, and is concerned that this may keep him off the tennis court for good. Here's the full article in Swedish, but I gave the main points:
The article reads:
Is this guys report accurate? I don't speak Swedish at all so I can't read the article.

Poor Magnus :(
@ Birte are there any more details in the swedish article?
06-24-2004, 08:45 PM
Oh dear, that doesn´t sound good
I hope he will totally recover and be able to come back to the tour then.
06-24-2004, 08:50 PM
 It´s sad to hear he still has so much pain! I think there´s not much hope he can come back, but the most important thing is he can get rid of the pain.
06-25-2004, 01:49 AM
Oh no
Guess that the only good thing about that article was the pic above it...
06-25-2004, 07:32 AM
This is very bad news and I am so ledsen about it
BG has already written the main points of this article, but it was also written
that Magnus played golf for 2 weeks ago and even there he got the pain in his hip. He said he would lie if he said he would not think about giving up.
I hope he will at least be in Båstad and maybe watch the matches of his Swedish friends.
I really hope that Magnus won´t give up and that his hip gets better soon...
Magnus, we are all supporting you and hope so much that you can come back soon!!!
06-26-2004, 12:42 AM
So sad to read that thing that even playing golf he's in pain
Oh Magnus :sobbing: You've always been my reason #1 to watch tennis...
06-26-2004, 03:25 PM
oh no......poor magnus... but maybe the right decision if he's feeling bad...
06-26-2004, 09:22 PM
